ParticipantThank you – however, I have changed to the default theme and the problem is the same. I don’t think it is the theme that is causing the problem.

ModeratorTIP: never upgrade on a live site, always test on a separate install before so you don’t break your site until plugins and themes are made compatible. #BrokenRecord
I usually do not upgrade my plugins or themes until a major . Update. will fix any issues when 1.3 drops

ParticipantThank you @karmatosed. You also played a major part in the theme review as well as Chip, Otto, Cais, etc. By the time the theme got to me, undergoing so many revisions, it was sanitized and in ship-shape form. That’s what I call team effort, really

Participantwp-includes/registration.php has been deprecated since version WP 3.1. What WP/BP versions are you on then? Plugin or theme conflict. Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme.

Of course, sorry about the lack of information.
Website: http://www.doghousegamer.com
The theme I’m using is PlatformPro and we haven’t upgraded too WordPress 3.2.1 as some of the plugins (ie. the login bar) don’t work with 3.2.1 yet.
Thanks,

ParticipantI have the same problem. I have disabled all plugins and changed themes. I have the latest version of bp-columns but I get the non-reply problem with that or the default theme.
The page refreshes, the reply box appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Can anyone help, please?

ModeratorNo problem it’s also a great opportunity with BuddyPress 1.4 for people to get stuck in UI and design / theme wise so I’d strongly encourage anyone theme / design focused to start attending the developer meetings on Wednesday. Really exciting shiny pixel pusher times

July 22, 2011 at 10:26 pm #116766In reply to: ‘Friends’ activity page?
Tammie Lister
ModeratorHmm weird I’m seeing it working for me. I’m using the default BuddyPress theme and it shows friend activity for me.
My first thoughts are ‘maybe’ (long shot) a theme or plugin could be interfering – have you tried without plugins and using the default theme. Seems that probably wouldn’t cause that though.
Scratching my head a little as in a few tests I come up with it working for me sorry. Maybe someone else will be able to replicate if you can let us know your version for WordPress and BuddyPress and browser (long shot again that it’s browser but playing safe).

Tammie Lister
ModeratorIt could be a plugin it could also be something easily fixed with a browser cache clear – have you tried that? Best practice advice would be to browser cache clear, remove each plugin one by one, remove each widget one by one… all else fails try the default BuddyPress theme and rest your permlinks.
If all that doesn’t work just post a link to your site and that will help people in looking at what is going on to see if they can help you.

MemberBP can be installed on the computer??
Because I try to install and have no success because the following error appears:
Fatal error: Can not redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring () (previously declared in C: xampp htdocs wordpress wp-content plugins BuddyPress -themes bp bp-default _inc ajax.php: 20) in C: xampp htdocs wordpress wp-content themes custom-community _inc ajax.php on line 63July 22, 2011 at 5:24 pm #116735Boone Gorges
KeymasterAndrea is right. Nothing about the WP 3.2.x Dashboard style changes should have affected anything on the front end of BP. It’s likely a plugin conflict, or perhaps your theme is out of date. What theme are you using?
July 22, 2011 at 9:31 am #116714In reply to: Safe to edit BuddyPress Plugin?
@mercime
ParticipantIf you have a child theme of bp-default theme, copy over the header.php file to child theme folder. Open header.php with text editor and make changes in navigation links.

KeymasterJavaScript caching or an error in your theme or another plugin. Check the solutions in the topic linked above.
July 22, 2011 at 12:58 am #116696In reply to: Can’t create groups
@mercime
ParticipantNo, there is no “Create Group” in the dropdown under “My Account” link. I don’t believe there ever was. The My Account link in BP Admin Bar shows all links available when you go to your profile page.
Sticking to bp-default theme with all plugins deactivated except BuddyPress,
– go to dashboard > BP components – disable Groups, save settings then log out.
– log back in again, enable Groups and save settings, see how Group creation goes now.July 21, 2011 at 11:58 pm #116691In reply to: Can’t create groups

ParticipantYeah, I posted it earlier. I’ve tried it, and it is exactly the same.
I just tried it again. Right now I have it on the default theme, and it’s the same. I also clicked on forums in the tab, and I get a 404.
Just so I’m clear on this, there is supposed to be “create group” in the drop down, under “my account”, right?

ModeratorCan we have a sanity check with a test n your site using the default BuddyPress theme? I know it can be a big ask just like in this case to see if that helps find out if theme or function so to speak.

Tammie Lister
ModeratorAny BuddyPress page can be referenced in the child theme so you can still make use of the structure and update. If not usually you can get around things with a function.
All that said I would highlight the changes in 1.3 with the theme and also moving forward – it’s an area fairly open to trac tickets and patches. If you think something could be done another way then that is probably the best route.
July 21, 2011 at 8:31 pm #116679In reply to: Frisco Child Theme
@mercime
ParticipantA theme reviewer with test BP install will be checking out your theme, so no worries.
When you submit a theme to the WP Theme Repo, a trac ticket will be generated.
Your theme (bp child theme) will be queued and the next available reviewer with BP experience, will test your theme and post the review in that trac ticket. Review process can take from a few hours to max 7 days. You will be notified via email and you’ll see whether the theme is approved or whether it needs to be revised and resubmitted to the theme repo. If approved, it’ll take one week max before your theme is shown live in Extend > Themes.July 21, 2011 at 6:08 pm #116669In reply to: Frisco Child Theme

ParticipantThanks @mercime. I haven’t submitted a theme before but I have read through the codex/theme links before. Just haven’t seen any info specifically discussing BuddyPress child themes.
If BuddyPress isn’t active, my child theme doesn’t work.
Do you know if that is going to be an issue? I have looked through other child themes in the repository and they seemed to make it through.

@mercime
Participant” I remember reading about BuddyPress child themes having difficulty with theme review, so if anyone has any updates on that or if you’d like to help, please let me know.”
There’s a special queue for bp-default child themes in themes trac. These themes go through the same process as regular WP themes. For your reference:

That’s the plan. I remember reading about BuddyPress child themes having difficulty with theme review, so if anyone has any updates on that or if you’d like to help, please let me know.
