KeymasterIn your secondary blog theme’s functions.php, try adding this:
`remove_action( ‘wp’, ‘bp_core_wpsignup_redirect’ );`

KeymasterIf your other blog’s theme has its own registration templates, you could try:
myblog.example.com/registerBy “own registration templates”, I mean you’d have to copy /plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/registration/ to your current blog theme’s folder.

Participant== I thought all of that was supposed to be under /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members ==
That would be the folder where template files of bp-default theme is located.
If you installed WordPress in /wordpress folder and activated BP in main site then yes, the default url for members directory would look like …/wordpress/membersMarch 5, 2011 at 10:48 pm #106925In reply to: Running on one blog in multisite network…
@mercime
Participant@JaffyDesigns there is only one wp-config.php per network/install which inlcudes the main site and subsites created from same install.
== other non-BP sites will behave like normal WP installations (i.e. so I can theme them independently, etc.)? ==
Yes, definitely.March 5, 2011 at 10:10 pm #106919In reply to: Threaded (nested) comments in the default theme?

Participantput this in your themes functions.php
`
global $bp;
if(!is_super_admin())
bp_core_remove_subnav_item($bp->groups->id, “send-invites”);`
That should do it.March 5, 2011 at 3:39 pm #106898In reply to: Running on one blog in multisite network…

MemberHi all
I’m trying to do something similar to @mandi – I just set up a multisite installation, and wanted to have BP running on just one of the sub-sites, not the main one. From your reply, @andrea_r, it sounds like I need to update the wp-config file, but my question is: do you mean the wp-config file of the main site, or of the subsite that I want to run BP?
Will this mean that the other non-BP sites will behave like normal WP installations (i.e. so I can theme them independently, etc.)?
Thanks very much!

ParticipantYou have some CSS problem in your theme.
Do you have a link to your site, and possibly a dummy account for me to inspect it with firebug?

ParticipantIt’s a syntax error so you need to examine the line it’s referring to and check and correct the syntax php met an unexpected double quote mark and seems to be suggesting there ought to have been an ) closing parentheses. this is an extremely old post you have dragged up and I would expect this plugin/code to necessarily work given the version updates to BP since this was written.
btw editing core files in this manner is not advised really, if it’s a filter it ought to be written to a functions.php file living in a child theme

ParticipantYou may need to provide a little more detail to your question such as versions you are running, themes etc. In BP you generally have a members directory which does show all members along with their avatars is this not what you are looking for?

ParticipantAnd you have covered all the basics? Set up forums correctly in the buddypress settings, Permlinks are working correctly, When you say go into ‘It’ what do you mean by ‘it’, the top level directory for forum posts.
Have you tested basic functionality with the default buddypress theme enabled to see if this is a theme related issue?
You will need to provide slightly more detailed info , version numbers for WP/BP are also important.

KeymasterI haven’t tested this myself, but the bp-default theme in BP 1.2 does not add theme support for post-thumbnails.
This would have to added to your child theme’s functions.php:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_theme_support#Post_ThumbnailsAlso read the note here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_the_post_thumbnail#NotesGive that a shot and report back.

MemberFishFinder i would bow down to your knees if you could continue with this jaja. No man seriously, that’s an awesome start. so what would you call a complete finishing up touch to this? and cross browser compliant? I’m a mindless guy with css, i would appreciate if you could continue your tutorial. And i don’t mind if the three colums show on all pages, i think thats what i would like best.
Thanks!!

ParticipantYou’re welcome. Now it’s resolved, change/delete username and password you posted earlier, anyone can access your admin and wreak havoc in your main site with BP.
I’ve already changed it in your post above.

ParticipantLooks like it’s fixed. When I visited earlier, I could see the front page out of whack without being redirected to wp-login.php. Now, the redirect is on and the site looks well even in Firefox on my end. I can also see the bp adminbar on screen.
March 5, 2011 at 1:53 am #106861rcichetti
MemberOK…new information. It’s only rendering incorrectly in Firefox. Chrome and IE look right.
March 5, 2011 at 1:50 am #106860rcichetti
MemberThanks…tried that and it hasn’t changed anything. It seems to me that something from the parent theme (the BP default theme) is not getting called properly. Since the problem only started happening after I upgraded to WP3.1, I’m wondering if something in those files has changed…maybe in the definition of a default location…?
March 5, 2011 at 1:26 am #106859@mercime
Participant@rcichetti I would recommend that you download another copy of the bp-columns theme and re-upload to your server. The theme’s not rendered correctly in your site right now – something got lost in download or upload of the theme and that’s most probably what’s causing the lack of adminbar in your site.

Participantdo you have template pack installed???
You shouldn’t really need that put again if you have a child theme for buddypress.
