ParticipantLook in your theme files and remove the reference to it. In a child theme it’s probably somewhere in the activity folder.

ModeratorYup, you create a theme using the BP files that are for WP like single.php and then link to the CSS in your BP folder. Then when you edit the default themes styles it automatically updates the secondary blog. I may even do one of these and upload to WP theme repo as it’s something that keeps getting asked about.

ParticipantI believe I have done what you have suggested and changed the permalinks settings. An example post did read:
http://www.warchest.co.uk/blog/index.php/2010/09/how-to-paint-miniatures/Now reads:
http://www.warchest.co.uk/blog/?p=80
I take it that proves the .htaccess file is updating?The reason for my confusion regards missing files is that selecting “Account’ for example looks for ‘http://www.warchest.co.uk/blog/members/admin/’ where ‘/members/admin/” does not exist on the server. All files excepting those cited previously are in the buddypress plugins folder.
Apologies if my lack of knowledge in this area is throwing a curve ball.
I am using the default buddypress theme.

ParticipantDo not hijack threads please this practice is poor nettiquette. Problems may seem similar but often have different causes, having to answer two sets of questions in one thread can become confusing.
@tungjacob You have a highly customised theme, can you return to the Bp-default theme and test whether the issue is still apparent; also go to your permalink settings first and ensure that your .htaccess file is updating correctly by selecting an option and saving.
@jimboba much the same for you to; the lack of files is vague you either have the necessary BP files or not forget the lack of files for the moment BP wouldn’t be running if it were missing files. check whether you are able to update .htaccess file correctly

@mercime
ParticipantWhy not use this version?
Because as djpaul mentioned above, it’s outdated. WP 3.0.1 single or multisite with BP 1.2.5.2 is the way to go. In addition to stronger WP security and better features, you’ll be missing out on the BP plugin extension goodness which are only available and actively developed for current BP version – https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/
Is there any way to get this theme on the new version?
Ah, it’s do-able but porting it would take some time to do so with all the customization in layout and coding to make it work with BP 1.2.5.2. There are free and premium BP child/regular themes which can further customize to taste. And, if you have WP theme, use BP Template Pack to bring over BP social networking goodness.
I am creating a Motion Picture Casting site
Cool. I’ve always wanted to play a vampire
Kidding aside, BP 1.2.5.2 and WP 3.0.1 install is the way to go. If you haven’t yet, check these out

Many have customized BuddyPress themes and majority are on latest BP/WP versions.Cheers.

MemberIt worked! Thank you SO much @mercime and @DJPaul! Why not use this version?
Is there any way to get this theme on the new version? I am creating a Motion Picture Casting site. The main part of my site is allowing users to create a profile for themselves (an online application, basically), and then join a group to apply for a acting role in specific projects we have coming up.

@mercime
Participant@addisonkirk seriously, I would only recommend that for studying the theme to port it to BP 1.2, In addition, if you want to have forums, the installation process is much more complicated than the easy forum set up we now have with BP 1.2. In fact http://theeasybutton.com/’s detailed and helpful article on how to set it up in old WPMU and BP version is no longer available online.

ParticipantI really shouldn’t encourage you to continue with BP 1.1 series nor using old WPMU versions:-) … but that BP 1.1 series requires WPMU 2.8.4a (per old record of mine) Click on download link near bottom of page

Member@mercime Thank you for your help! I did as you said, but in the admin it still says:
Your currently active theme is not BuddyPress enabled.

@mercime
Participant@addisonkirk you really, really, like the theme
Move bp-sn-parent theme folder from
wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/ folder to wp-content/themes/ folderMaybe after installing it, you might want to port the design to BuddyPress 1.2, but it’s not that easy.

Participantthanks to the guys from bp-theme-converts.com (I’m using one of their themes, a child-theme of hybrid) I got my problem fixed. It was an issue with the style.css file of the child-theme. There were some lines missing, so I just added them to my css file and now everything is working fine. The lines are referred to the avatar author, in my case they are:
`
/* Author avatar */
.author-profile .avatar {
float: left;
width: 60px;
height: 60px;
margin-right: 20px;
padding: 4px;
background: #eee;
border: 1px solid #ccc;
}
/* Author avatar */
.left-menu .avatar {
float: left;
width: 150px;
height: 150px;
margin-right: 20px;
padding: 4px;
background: #eee;
border: 1px solid #ccc;
}
`

KeymasterAh hah. Yes, this is something I’ve fixed for the next version. It occurs when you aren’t using The default theme’s JavaScript.
Have a read through https://buddypress.org/community/groups/welcome-pack/forum/topic/couple-of-issues-with-2-1/ for now.September 1, 2010 at 3:37 am #91184@mercime

What is your current theme?September 1, 2010 at 3:27 am #91183In reply to: Can’t access groups since upgrade
@mercime
ParticipantWhen that happens, most likely culprits are the recent additions/changes to your install. Change to bp-default theme. What theme did you update? What are your BP/WP versions. If that doesn’t work, deactivate BP Group Email subscription.

Inactivehave a look at the single.php file of another theme. it’s all in there. your template seems kinda ancient. also, your question has nothing to do with buddypress, so there’s no reason not to activate it.
