Hi,
I spent a full weekend to create a new wordpress theme!

With the Beta 1 version, you can download it for free. It’s not
perfect, I think. Currently, I am a little busy working to earn 100
usd to pay my tuition so I don’t have much time for this. I am living

I get this error:

Without deep integration BuddyPress Groups for bbPress (0.36) is working properly.
But I need deep integration and keep the hidden forms from public.
I need this for a plugin/function. I can’t figure out how to do anything with the user_email during activation. When I do this:

If I can’t select the user_email on $user_id, how? The query works fine directly in the database. Do I need to change something in the PHP/Wordpress tagging system?
Please help me out. I’ve been horribly stuck on this for the last 24 hours…
EDIT: Sorry, figured it out. Should have studied the codex. This works:
$email = $wpdb->get_var("SELECT user_email FROM $wpdb->users WHERE ID='$user_id'");
echo $email;But I still don’t get why simply $user_email doesn’t work in that function…
Topic: IE6 and 7 problem
Hi: I installed a plugin called wp-greet (http://www.tuxlog.de/wordpress/2008/wp-greet-documentation-english/) – the plugin works great on all browsers except IE 6 and 7. Strangly the plugin designers and others have no problem with IE compatibility and so I seem to be the only one having a problem. Essentially the “preview – send – reset” buttons are not responsive both before and after I installed spam protection. The link to the page is http://tatazara.com/cards/

This problem is only in the buddypress forum, in the blogs all is OK.

I recently installed both Buddypress (v1.0.3.) and Flutter (v.1.1) onto a fresh install of WPMU (v2.8.4a).
When both of the plugins are activated, the image cropping feature of Buddypress does not work under the admin account – the cropping area does not even show up.
This only happens on the admin accounts and all other users are still able to crop images with no problems.
Does anyone have any idea what the conflict may be and/or how to rectify it?
Note: I have also asked this question on the Flutter support site but it doesn’t appear to be very active and I have not recieved any response.

hi guys, not everybody in my country is familiar with wordpress, so i’m wondering if it’s possible to let them create and manage their blogs outside of the wp control panel, just like creating a blog at wordpress.com, or a lens at squidoo?

Just upgraded to BP1.0.3 and WPMU 2.8.4a and i keep getting the following error:

If you’re like me and really like customizing BuddyPress to fit your needs, then sometimes the built in BuddyPress verbiage might not fit for your particular website. Maybe you need to rename “Wire” to “Wall” or you don’t like that avatars are called “Avatars” and want to rename them “Profile Pictures,” well it’s actually way easier to do than you’d think and it doesn’t involve modifying ANY core files at all…
If your sites native language is English, then in your bp-languages folder all you need is a buddypress-es_US.po file. Then, use your favorite po/mo editor to change the text that you want changed, save the file, and upload it to your site.
Done.
That’s right; WordPress, bbPress, and BuddyPress all allow you to do this. So if you don’t like some of the hard-coded verbiage that any of the platforms use, you can change it simply by modifying your own languages po/mo file.
You could go nuts with this method, and create an English/Pig-latin translation. Klingon? Sure! Pirate English? Go right ahead! Start with English and change it up however you wish.
Topic: BuddyPress Membership Sites
Hello,
I am in the middle of creating a site powered with BuddyPress right now. Before I have my developer create a way for memberships, I was wondering if there are other ways. I have been looking through these forums, but all of the membership topics went unresolved.
I did find WordPress plugins like Wishlist and MemberWing. Has anyone had any success using these plugins?
My main objectives are requiring users to pay, and having a few different levels of memberships.

I originally posted this article in the WPMU forum but could not find any solution yet. Given the BuddyPress integration, it was thus suggested to post it here as well.
Running WPMU 2.8.4, BuddyPress 1.0.3.
First few blogs were created with WPMU 2.6 and then the system was upgraded through every single release (final, not beta or RC).
I did not use the “dashboard” function to catch all new users as subscribers until today, thus they went all to blog ID 1.
So much for the setup. Now from this I get 2 different, yet eerily similar problems:
A) Blog ID 1 remains “catch-all”
When adding “dashboard” as the new “blog for all new users”, it successfully imported all users from blog ID 1 as supposed to. But it did not remove the users from blog ID 1 so I did that manually.
Now whenever anyone logs in on the site’s frontpage (which is blog ID 1), they are automatically added again as “contributor” to blog ID 1. (blog settings are “subscriber” btw)
Problem: I thought that would not be the case anymore after using “dashboard” function? How to stop that?
One other blog shows identical behaviorOnly 1 other blog shows the same behavior as above despite only being an ordinary blog with no special settings nor assigned rules. Whenever a logged-in (to the site in general) user visits that particular blog, (s)he will be added as a “contributor” to that blog as well (despite “subscriber” setting). One remark about this blog: it’s the only one that was disabled since WPMU 2.6 and got reactivated in 2.8.4 (but I ran the “Update” function again after the reactivation).
Problem: this blog should behave the same like any other blog: *not* adding all logged-in visitors.
Some guesses:
The blog in point
was created before BuddyPress installation so I thought it might have missed an upgrade or so *but* blog ID 1 was of course created before BuddyPress as well.Could it be because the blog was disabled? But then why does it share the same problem with blog ID 1?
I’m puzzled by the similarity of this problem and although I’ve found many solutions scratching the topic, I couldn’t find anything that matched the description.
Additional information:
Site Admin -> Options -> Dashboard:
– Blog: “dashboard”
– Role: “Subscriber”
Note: dashboard.sitedomain sends user to login page and back to their own dashboard, as supposed to.
Re “stray mu-plugins”:
Already checked the mu-plugin folder for that. Nothing I could think of which would (by my intention) have such changes nor remember to have modified.
I could delete and recreate the blog with a new ID, that should solve “the other blog” issue.
But that still leaves me with the blog ID 1 problem of everyone still/also being signed up there.
Should I go ahead and recreate the blog to see how it goes?
I’m experienced at WordPress, but not MU and Buddypress. Currently getting to grips with it through a test domain and liking it!
However, I’ve enabled a theme and looks fine on the home page, but as soon as I navigate away, the default theme is displayed.
Probably a no-brainer, but I can’t figure it! Any helpful answers much appreciated and promise to move on to something less dumb soon!
