In reply to: Not all members listed, pending user permissions
Hi,
as long as these members haven’t loggedin for the first time, their name is held in xx_signup table and are mentionned as “pending” on members admin page.
As you use subdomain, i suppose you are on a network install, in which case, your members admin can be found at your_site/wp-admin/network/users.php (wp-admin/users.php on a single install).
If not, ensure that BP is installed at the same level as your WordPress. This is mandatory.
BuddyPress does not work on installations where you give WordPress its own directory.Anything is explained here:
In reply to: Location of bp_member_header_actions ?Hi,
see from here:

Group Events is not a BuddyPress affair. 😉 Ask on your events plugin support.
Hi,
try this snippet (add it to bp-custom.php or child theme’s functions.php):
function garfrey_widget_title( $title ) { if ( $title == "Members") { $title = __('Members Translation') ; // foreign char. here } return $title; } add_filter ( 'widget_title' , 'garfrey_widget_title', 21 );Reference:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Filter_Reference/widget_titleIn reply to: upload gravatar imageHi,
on your picture, i read under page title “Edit field”, the message “Page cache successfully emptied”.
Clear first, than deactivate your page cache before doing such modification.I guess it could be possible that you did some changes but the cached page was not updated on frontend.
Other thing you could try is to set the field visibility for “members only” instead of “everyone”, then enforce field visibility.
In reply to: Can i change the color?Color means styling. And styling means CSS.
As mentionned in my first answer, you have to add the code into your child-theme’s style.css fileIn reply to: How to create a Like notification?Hi,
consider https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-like/
Notification likes will be implemented in next update (dixit author)
In reply to: Can i change the color?Hi,
yes of course it is possible.
You have to modify CSS from within your child-theme.Try:
#buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li.current a span, #buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li.selected a span { background-color: red!important; }This example will change the background color into red for the number when you’re on a profile tab.
Ie. when on message tab, background goes red. When not, it stays in original color. When on friends tab, background goes red, and so on.Use Firebug or a similar tool to get the correct tag class or id name.
In reply to: I need your help.,Hi,
group forums are part of bbPress, so you’ve better to ask on bbPress support forum.
On bbPress Codex, you’ll find a page related to some plugins who may fit or approach what you’re looking for. See https://codex.bbpress.org/feature-plugins-tracking/
In reply to: About bp-customHi,
if you read attentively the mentionned Codex page, you’ll see that the function is written with single quotes. Try it.
Also, you have to register MT first, using
bp_initaction hook. (1st function example on codex)
After that, you may build a MT directory for which you usebp_register_member_types. (2nd example)In other words, you need at least 2 functions to get this to work.
bp-custom.phpis the correct file to add those functions. The avantage of this method is to let you theme independant. In reply to: Most popular – Plugin searchHi,
not tested, but seems to be very configurable:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts/In reply to: Could not Save Basic Settingshi @ldesherl,
sorry to jump in, i see some weird path on your site.
E.g. http://oneladyfights4life.com/members-7/ or activity-streams-2/ BP is looking for “members”, not members-2. This happens mostly when a page is in trash and the same page name is used again. To be clear, you create a page called “member”. Then you decided to trash it and recreate a page called “member”. The problem is that WP knows now about 2 “member” page (one as page, the other as trashed) and add automatically -2 to the second page permalink.
A page in trash is not destroyed, but simply deactivated. As long as you don’t clear the trash you can restore such a page.
-7 and -2 means you created at least seven members and 2 activity pages.
Go to Pages adminsitration and check any of BuddyPress page permalink. These slugs would be better without any number at the end. Edit the page and correct the permalink which is right under the page title.
You should have http://oneladyfights4life.com/members/See also in page trash if you have similar pages in it. If yes delete them definitely.
Once done, go to BP page settings and ensure all BP component have the correct page associated.
Finally, go to permalinks settings and save that page. With a little luck, you will get BP working now.In reply to: Disable comments in activityHi,
Comments who are already registered in activities stay in the feed. If you don’t want to see them, you have to remove them manually in the activity manager.Once an activity comment is deactivated, the button isn’t visible in the feed.
Try this method and add the code to bp-custom.php, so you stay also theme independant.
function bpfr_activity_nocomment( $can_comment = true, $type = '' ) { if ( empty( $can_comment ) ) { return $can_comment; } //handling the activity types we want to disable //to get activity type names, go to the DB and check the "type" column in xx_bp_activity table $cant_comment_types = array( 'new_forum_topic' => 1, 'new_forum_post' => 1, ); return ! isset( $cant_comment_types[ $type ] ); } add_filter( 'bp_activity_can_comment', 'bpfr_activity_nocomment', 10, 2 );In reply to: Plugin Buddy Press leads to error 508.what to do?Hi,
generally, a 508 error means that your website is hitting one or more of the hosting account’s virtual resource limits: CPU Usage, RAM Usage, I/O usage or Entry Processes.
first thing to check is your server ressources. Use phpinfo() to get thoose information.
Then compare with minimum requirements for a WordPress/BuddyPress install.
In the meantime, open wp-config.php and activate debug mode (set it from false to true) and see if you receive some notices or warnings.
If you get a php error, such as a missing tag, you have to repair that. Or upload a new copy of an eventually mentionned file. Or if you did some custom coding somewhere, remove it or revert back…
If there is no error mentionned, it is your host plan which is not taylored for WordPress/BuddyPress. In this case, you have to change your host or plan, if you want to use the full power of WP !
You will be confortable with at least php 5.5 and a memory_limit of 64 mb
In reply to: Problem with translation of some stringsTranslated to 100% doesn’t mean updated to 100%. Have you verified any of your translation with the .pot file ?
Normally, an update (plugin, theme,..) is shipped with his most recent pot file. Open the .po file with poEdit and run an update from pot.
With poEdit you can also check the file and the line number containing the word you’re not able to translate. With this information, control the file content and verify that the string is correctly formatted for i18n. Sometimes, a localization is omitted, or in case of buttons, the error can be in a js file… You have to investigate attentively. I can’t help you more, sorry. 😉
In reply to: Problem with translation of some stringsHi,
check your theme translation or menu settings and eventually your plugins (if you use some).
On your members page source code, there is a long phrase in english inside a div which is not from BuddyPress:
You can browse all activities here. Use menu below if you want to browse only specific activities like […]The theme was published in 2013, it could be possible that it is not updated for latest BP version…
In reply to: Buddypress Post New Update Need Help ConfiguringHi,
basically, you can call the what’s new template part by using
bp_get_template_part( 'activity/post-form' );see doc here.Or try this plugin after you created a widget area on your homepage (so it will only display on that page):

https://github.com/buddypress/BuddyPress-build/blob/master/bp-members/bp-members-template.phpHi,
best solution is to use the built-in filter, instead of modifying tinymce which may affect all editors.
I provided a working example here:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/suppressing-rich-text-on-xprofile-text-area/#post-247640In reply to: Suppressing rich text on xprofile text areaTo get the field_id, simply go to admin xprofile field editor and mouse over the edit button. The id can be seen in the bottom left cornet of your brower.
Example use field_id 3. Snippet goes to bp-custom.php
function antipole_remove_rich_text( $field_id = null ) { if ( ! $field_id ) { $field_id = bp_get_the_profile_field_id( '3' ); } $field = xprofile_get_field( $field_id ); if ( $field ) { $enabled = false; } } add_filter( 'bp_xprofile_is_richtext_enabled_for_field', 'antipole_remove_rich_text' );In reply to: Private Site????Hi,
