ParticipantSorry for non-english examples. Basically i dont have english network yet ^^
Should i create a community in http://theme.firmasite.com/ ? Its a network itself so i can install buddypress and open registration etc. I couldnt decide on this actually but i generally hate registering to lots of site for able to get support. If i dont change my mind, i am thinking to give support on wordpress.org’s forums because everyone have account in there. What do you guys think about registering a site for getting support?

Participantif you mean WordPress Multisite with “network environment”; My all sites are built on multisite. For example main site is: http://yerleske.net/ and http://unsalkorkmaz.com/ is one of sub-domain.
If you mean BuddPress examples;
My buddypress profiles:

Participant@hnla I suspected that this was probably a WP-Engine issue and that there wouldn’t be much you guys could do. I came here out of hope rather than expectation in case someone on here had experienced a similar issue and had some tips or advice.
With regards to the number of users there are a large number of fake/spam user accounts (I estimate 10,000+) that were registered on older versions of WordPress/bbPress before we upgraded and switched to CloudFlare and WP-Engine which has reduced spam considerably. We have also gradually been deleting obvious fakes but as you can appreciate this is a laborious task.
WP-Engine have refused to temporarily increase the resource limits to see if that enables the BuddyPress installation to complete. At this point I think I’ll try downloading a copy of the site and see if I can run the BuddyPress install on a local LAMP/WAMP setup and allocate 1GB+ to PHP memory.

ParticipantI did all the basic’s but it still did not work , so I uninstalled both and installed bbPress 2.3b2 and buddypress 1.7b2 and it seems to be working now.
March 13, 2013 at 2:15 am #156175@mercime
Participant@akgt have you done some basic troubleshooting like reverting to BP Default theme and/or deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress?

Participant@shanebp
Just tried it with the change you made and I still have the same issue. it seems only the admin account is effective at blocking, while subscribers has no effect at all when blocking. If user1 blocks user2 then user2 still see’s user1’s activity and is still visible in the members page as well. The only plugins I have activated is your plugin, buddypress, and bbpress. Not sure what the issue is!March 11, 2013 at 11:22 pm #156093In reply to: Way users can subscribe to entire forum and to blog?

Participanthi @tvanes,
if you use 1.6.4 and bbpress 2.2.4 as plugin as standalone forum , there are no more bbpress tables as in previous BP versions. And the interacting between BP and bbP is poor.
If you use BP 1.7 beta and bbpress plugin 2.3 beta, there are no tables too. But the interacting between BP and bbPress is much much better. But unfortunatetly, you have to wait a little for both stable version to get somehow what you want…

shanebp
ModeratorI’ve never used zenthemes.
But their Buddies theme page says:
“WordPress 3.3.1 & BuddyPress 1.5.3.1, bbPress 2 compatible”So it’s out of date – should be at least WP 3.5 and BP 1.6

KeymasterDid you try posting on bbpress.org? That’s the best place for this query.

ParticipantAwesome. I’ll have to give this a try. I’m exploring responsive themes atm. My site’s not very responsive at all and that spooks me out. hehe.

Participanti think “damage” is the wrong way to put it. the extraneous roles attached to your existing sites are meaningless and should be ignored in any case. you may be able to reset the old roles by running the built in bbpress repair scripts or alternatively you can install this plugin i use:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/
which also has the ability to sort of reset all users to their default roles and capabilities.
March 9, 2013 at 7:34 pm #155929rizingsun
ParticipantI have bbPress network deactivated, but the problem persists for any new subsite I create.
How do I go about fixing the bbPress damage?
March 9, 2013 at 7:28 pm #155928John James Jacoby
KeymasterIt’s worth noting that in the past, BuddyPress created bbPress 1.1’s roles in the same global namespace as WordPress’s blog roles. This is suboptimal, as it requires a user to be EITHER an Author, or a Moderator, or an Editor, or a Member.
Most people will want an Editor to ALSO be a Moderator, or an Admin to ALSO be a Key Master.
bbPress 2.2 and beyond allow for a user to have multiple roles on sites (in a network) that have bbPress active on them. On other sites without bbPress active, users still have regular old roles.
March 9, 2013 at 7:17 pm #155924John James Jacoby
KeymasterYou probably don’t want bbPress activated network wide, unless you’re confident you want forums on every single site in your network. (hint: unlikely)
If you’ve already network activated bbPress, and if for some reason bbPress’s roles are in each of those subsites, you have some cleaning up to do. bbPress 2.2 and beyond do not save roles in the database anymore, so bbPress’s roles won’t float into sites they don’t belong in.
Roles are per site, and each site can have their own plugins active. Plugins like BuddyPress can sometimes be Network activated. BuddyPress does not add roles anymore; it used to with BuddyPress Forums in 1.5 and before. If this is a site from before BuddyPress 1.7 betas and bbPress 2.3 betas, some of the role integration is more complicated than it needs to be, and it’s addressed in 1.7/2.3.
We’re moving away from database capabilities exactly because of the confusion you’re experiencing. There’s no proper UI to display roles and caps in a way that makes much sense. There are plugins out there that try to help, but in my experience many of them provide medium functionality with high complexity.
Basically, you’ll need to do some digging, figure out what’s wrong, which could be an unlimited combination of things based on your configuration and needs…
