I love the Buddypress plugin, but have run into a problem. The buddypress tool is no longer showing up in the backend dashboard. I’m running a premium theme called Buddyboss and have updated to the latest version of WP and BP. The Buddyboss theme is showing up in the dashboard, but not Buddypress. Everything with the site is working correctly, but I’m unable to work on components of the Buddypress plug in because it has disappeared from my dashboard.
I have disabled all other plug ins and still no go. I have also tested WP, Buddypress and Buddyboss on a local installation and both Buddypress and Buddyboss theme show on my dashboard just fine, so I think I have a corrupt file somewhere on my server, but not sure how to fix this.
Help…Hi, I’ve been experimenting with several BuddyPress themes, Mingle, BuddyBoss etc.. and ALWAYS when I am testing, going through the sign up process, the site says to check my email for confirmation. It NEVER comes. Not to a gmail acct. Not to my pop accounts on my own websites. I’m going bonkers. What can it be? Where do I need to check to trouble shoot this.

PhilippHey, I have successfully installed the plugin and it was working fine with buddypress theme but it is creating problem with buddyboss theme
if you goto groups page http://zulutradeforex.com/groups/ The links and buttons are not clickable.
Please help me outHello !
I would like to redirect the user to another profile group fields when he clicks on “edit profile”, in order to display the second profile group as default tab. Is there a way to do that ?
I tried that:
`<?php global $bp;
if(bp_get_current_profile_group_id()==1)
bp_core_redirect($bp->displayed_user->domain.”profile/edit/group/2″);
?>`But it displays me an error :
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at mydomain.com/wp-content/themes/buddyboss/header.php:3) in mydomain.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 934Thanks.
I want my bbPress to be a single forum (instead of group forums) – and also perhaps only have 1 group (or none?
I’ve found this topic explaining how to do it but it seems its for an older version of BP / bbforum. http://www.buddyboss.com/how-to-set-up-a-single-bbpress-forum-with-buddypress/
Could anyone please explain the best way to do this? I’d like a single forum, and will only have one type of user so either no groups required or they automatically are allocated to a group.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! PS I’m using the buddyboss theme
So the site i’m working is called CaraDaCapoeira.com. The buddyboss theme provides me with a group function that I can’t do much with really but can be utilized for site groups like “Capoeira Rocks” or something like that. What I need now is to be able to have another “groups” section for Capoeira Schools across the world. I have 700 in excel files and would like to know what the best way to implement this other “groups” section on my buddypess site to be seperate from the groups that came with the general buddypress installation. It will need to show a Photo, group info, phone number, location, instructor etc. I suppose i could use the group page template and just copy it but not quite sure what to do after that. I’m certain i’d have to alter the database but i’m just not sure the best way to go about doing it and what functions to to copy and adjust in order to get this done.
Any and all help is welcome. I’m using WP v 3.2.1 and buddypress 1.2.9
Topic: Better registration
I think the registration that this theme uses: http://buddyboss.com/demo/register should be default for the BuddyPress plugin, it’s super clean and looks great.
Is there a plug in or a way I can get this type of registration for a different theme?
I actually have two questions:
1. How would i add more fields to the group creation page…i tried editing the PHP and got lost. I really don’ t know buddypress that well and my PHP/Mysql skills are basic. I tried editing it and the button the continue to the next step just disappeared. I also already have that plug in that allows you to add fields as a group administrator but what i want is to make certain fields standard for all groups.2.I have an excel file and with about 700 capoeira groups. How can I put make that available in my buddypress site.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. When i tried to edit the PHP/Mysql my button to continue to the next step just disappeared..i’m using the BuddyBoss theme and my site is http://caradacapoeira.com
Thank you all ahead of time
my site is http://www.sportsisnow.com and I want to put a registration form in my sidebar instead of having a link at the top. Kind of like this : http://buddyboss.com/demo/
I want to have a nice little box in my sidebar that says “sign up” and they can enter a username or password.
I am very very new to all this so any help would be much appreciated!
I’d like to add a blog to my site and I’m confused on how to. I’d like to add a Blog tab in the navigation with a blogroll that I could add daily posts.
Here is my site: http://www.sharemickey.com
Wordpress Version 3.2
Buddypress Version 1.2.9
BuddyBoss Version 1.1.2Thanks,
Joe
Hi, I’m using BuddyPress 1.2.8 with WordPress 3.1.3, and when I use the factory default BuddyPress theme (1.2.7), everything works great
But, when I activate the BuddyBase theme (a free BuddyPress theme from BuddyBoss), everything works, except for the Activity area. In the Activity area if I try to post an update or reply to any activity items…nothing happens
I tried to follow what was happening with FireDebug and in Chrome by watching the Network tab, and basically the Post button always calls wp-load.php with some POST variables (obviously an Ajax request to update the activity list). I guess this is supposed to somehow invoke remote Ajax functions in BuddyBase theme PHP files, but it doesn’t appear to be working.
The result coming back from the wp-load.php AJAX calls is always status 200 (OK) with an empty string, no error message, no content…just nothing
As I say, with the default BuddyPress theme it works fine, so it seems pretty clear that the BuddyBase theme isn’t handling the Ajax stuff properly via wp-load.php.
How can I start debugging this? If someone can point me to some kind of flow of operations that gets the Ajax call from wp-load.php to the actual handling functions, maybe I can try to debug and fix this. It may not even be that big a bug…but I don’t know where to start putting some error_log() statements to try and follow the control flow.
How does the wp-load.php connect to the actual Ajax handling functions for Activity updates?
Thanks for any help/pointers. We like the BuddyBase theme, I’d like to fix it and continue using it. This is the only spot where it seems to not work so well.
A positive note – Theme development has come a long way in the past two months.
Maybe I missed the discussion but the Aristos theme looks rather clean. Is anyone using it for their community?

BuddyBoss is very clean. I’m using it for my classroom website.
