ParticipantNo redirect, the key is on the url.
I’ve debugged the /register action.
I’ve tried to output the _GET var. No way, is empty if i add a parameter in the url.
These seems to be a global problem in my buddypress. But the _POST is set correctly.

Participant@aminima I doubt you’re “the world” 😀
Anyway here’s the link to upload the plugin.
Note that you probably will have to adjust a little bit your template, to have a clear access to the topic mover menu. In some situation it overrides a bit the group menu… Don’t remeber exactly, but some div and CSS adjustment will to the job.
Plugin Authors: @imath and @chouf1
Provided as is. No support.

ParticipantThanks for the reply @karmatosed
I am done with my task by just editing something in bp-moderation.js, what i have to do is just refresh the division where the posts are shown.
But now i have another thing to do. i.e. Integration of Cubepoints and Achievement plugin. Like if someone has reach at 120 points then i will be notifying him for his prize(s).
Good solutions will be really appreciable!

ParticipantSorry for the late reply. I did not get a notification. [anycase] here is a link to my site:
uat.petpalidtags.comI have raised a support ticket with the theme developer but I think it will be a while before I see anything. The theme is supposed to support Buddypress 1.6 but I had to copy the following CSS section from the defualt.css file.
[/*————————————————————–
6.9 – Extended Profiles
————————————————————–*/This does display the “change” link but the section does not expand i.e. display:block.
Please have a look as I would love to get this fixed as I cannot deploy this theme.
Thanks

Keymaster@raymade, please would you start a new topic. This one’s pretty old, and the fix for your problem might be different from the fix that aces linked to, 9 months ago. Be sure to include details of what versions of WordPress you’re running, what you expect should happen, and what’s actually happening. Thanks!

ParticipantThank you Paul.
I don’t have a “page” called “forums”. That is what the forum archive links too.
I don’t know why, but I am more confused then ever. Perhaps if I share what I want to achieve, someone can tell me how to achieve it.
I want:
Forums have to be precedent (and sidebar), like buddypress.org/support/ (no archive)
The ease of use, such as this forum. Ie; Forums divided into subjects and topics in those forums.
The functionality of buddypress. Ie; user member profiles and such.
And the two to work together.I know this is possible, but wrapping my mind around what settings to disable/enable and what slugs to use or not, are out of my league. Today, I have spent 5+ hours trying to configure, yesterday, at least that many hours or more.
thank you for the help. Not sure why it’s so difficult to grasp.

Participant@beingblissful I understand. Thanks for your encouragement. I was able to get it working to some degree. We will see how it goes from here. I will keep researching and see what other templates might prove to be the right solution for my blog.

ParticipantHi Paul,
Thanks for the tip about starting a new topic for my post – will do now and include the specifics of what I need help with 🙂
Hi Kevin,
Not really comfortable to chat personally at this point. In fact, not really comfortable to publicly bag Salutation theme either! First time ever for me to speak so negatively about something I invested in online.
Certainly some people have managed to get the theme working well so for those who have good understanding of Buddypress and BB Press, it’s an excellent option. There are just a lot of holes that need to be filled in for newbies and the support forum available through Salutation leaves much to be desired for the total beginner.
Yes, the video tutorials are great! And I did find much help there. However, once again, it’s assumed that you already have a thorough understanding of Buddypress and how it works. I don’t so was often left feeling confused and uncertain about to create exactly what I want.
One more thing on Salutation – I originally contacted their theme support via email to request professional support – almost 2 weeks ago. I got one email response back 5 days later saying they would pass it on. I have heard nothing from them since hence me posting for professional support here at Buddypress 🙂
I wish you much luck, Kevin! I’m sure that you’ll find the perfect solution very soon 🙂

Participantr-a-y,
Thanks for the input. I “sorta” have it working. But it is not working like I have seen it working on other sites. So, I am still concerned about the ability to roll it out on my new blog in a few weeks when it is ready.
Do you have any experience with the “Salutation” theme that @beingblissful is utilizing? I am contemplating purchasing that one.

KeymasterHi Peter,
Commons In A Box is not a fork of BuddyPress. It utilizes BuddyPress as well as other vetted BuddyPress plugins together to form an easy package to work from. The rationale is you shouldn’t have to go and find which plugins work and don’t work. CBOX also packages a nice theme to work with that is easily customizable.
Check out the CBOX website for more info. Also feel free to register and ask questions over there.

ParticipantHas anyone managed to turn on the new bbPress forums in legacy BuddyPress groups? (….including legacy BuddyPress groups which didn’t have an old-style forum?)
Or is this a bug?

r-a-y
KeymasterPlease try not to post the same thing across several threads. A good rule of thumb is to create a new topic for your questions and not bumping older topics that haven’t been responded to in awhile.
As for your questions:
* Geotagging for member profiles – several plugins exist. You might want to try Mapology. It’s a premium plugin, but it’s probably the most feature-rich.
* Auto-refresh activity page – there are a few plugins out there, but I haven’t really tested all of them. Try this one:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/rs-buddypress-activity-refresh/* Events – again, several plugins exist. Do a search on Google for “buddypress events” and you’ll find the top plugins.
You’ll probably want to test out a few of those plugins to see which ones will suit your needs.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantHey man, I realize this post is pretty old but you all seemed very knowledgeable. I have a site idea with ENORMOUS potential and is catered around a very niche clientelle. It has the possibility of thousands of users generating thousands of posts daily. I was looking into Ning but didn’t like what you said above, however, when I looked into Buddypress it seemed lacking some of the features I need. What I need is…
Profile members. All member’s profile should have geo tags on their profiles.
An activity page that shares posts on certain pages which all members can tune into and have updated on a correlating IOS and android app (if possible).
A search for profile members that are attending an event that include their proximity to the person searching. Meaning. If I am attending an event and there are several other members that are too, I’d like to be able to see which members are near me.
I realize this is a lot so I’m posting in several places.
All the best,
Jeduhu

ParticipantI am looking into building a social network too which would need this option. I’ll keep watching to see if this problem can be solved. I am wieighing my options on ning vs. buddypress. I really need to be able to make custom searches for profile members. Privacy search options. If this isn’t possible on Buddypress I need to find a different option.
