KeymasterIt sounds like this is a filter order problem. In BP 1.6, some sanitization routines were added for security purposes, and it looks like there’s a conflict with the CPF plugin.
In the …bp-functions.php file, try changing
`add_filter( ‘bp_get_the_profile_field_value’, ‘cpfb_add_social_networking_links’, 1 );`
to
`add_filter( ‘bp_get_the_profile_field_value’, ‘cpfb_add_social_networking_links’, 100 );`
and see if that helps.

Member8. Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed and activated? If so, which ones? Deactivating all plugins had no effect on the issue. —- by this i mean all plugins except for buddypress

ParticipantThank you @mercime, but i already tested your advice with only BP and SH activated. I also deactivated my functions.php and i have the same problem.
Can you give me a link to an example on your site, to see how it looks on your config.
Perhaps it has to do with some server config.August 25, 2012 at 6:33 am #140183In reply to: Theme issue – Page alignment

Participant@mercime Thank you for all help and support! This has fixed the issue. I really appreciate the help.
I have question regarding sidebar – if I am not wrong it is showing Default sidebar. Is it possible to select which sidebar to show on BP pages ?
Thank you once again!
@mercime
Participant@blg002 based on the link you gave, you should be looking at wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-themes/ for the forums with tables or in wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/ with table-less forums for the single-topic template files

Participant@chouf1 I use Syntax HIghlighter Evolved as well and it’s working well in my BP 1.6.1 installation. I think it is a plugin conflict with other BuddyPress-component-dependent plugins which I see are in your installation but not in my install – e.g. the group documents plugin and the buddy-bbpress support topic plugin – which you should deactivate to see if issue is corrected.

@mercime
Participant== . I really don’t know if this is a BuddyPress issue or a Theme issue, but I sense the former. ==
@pescholar there’s a way to settle this. Change to bp-default theme and see if issue is resolved.

@mercime
ParticipantB. COPY your theme’s sidebar.php file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php file and at the very TOP of the file above other code, add this:
`‘;
`Then at the very BOTTOM of the same file below all other code, add this:
``
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/snapwire/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.

@mercime
Participant@mumbaipav Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you will be only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make the BP templates compatible with your theme.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`<div id="post-” >`Save file.

ParticipantI too would like to display author archives in a BuddyPress tab. This is something I have been looking for for a while now. It seems like something that should be a main feature of buddypress since so many people use it in conjunction with some sort of blog.

PeppermintMochaPatty
MemberThank you @mercime. I was going to try that step first but I did not see those files in either the WP Editor nor in my hosting files. At this point I am either just going to ditch this or perhaps pay someone to fix it for me real quick.
August 25, 2012 at 12:27 am #140172In reply to: BP Capability
@mercime
Participant@peppermintmochapatty if you are using this theme, https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/first-lego-league-official , you cannot use the second method (creating xxx-buddypress.php) for Step 3 of the BP Compatibility process. Because of the HTML structure of your theme, you’d need to revise 16 template files from the 6 BP folders transferred to your theme’s folder in server.
If you still want to proceed with the instruction, let me know.

August 24, 2012 at 7:24 pm #140162In reply to: User Meta Names… how do I find them?
Quint
ParticipantThanks for responding. What I meant is that I don’t know what the meta names are for each one of the XProfile fields.
What I’m trying to do is map some of the fields in my FormidablePro form to the XProfile fields. Thus, when the user fills out and submits the form, the appropriate XProfile fields are updated. That’s the goal. It’s possible… but I don’t know how to do it. Getting the meta names is a good start.
Didn’t see your response, Paul until after I submitted… will look at it.

ParticipantGood call to everyone’s post on this thread. We develop online communities as opposed to social media networks. Our site members do not want a media feature. Yet it would be great to see it integrated into a future BP release. Maybe, private groups can have the option of using it?

ModeratorOne day, there might be a hook up to WP media but until then it really is better to allow people options with functionality via plugins. Be thankful the BP media team has spent thousands of hours giving you that free option
