ParticipantHi Thomas –
a few pointers for you:
To integrate your videos into BuddyPress, you probably want to take a look at building a BuddyPress component – check out the bp skeleton component – it gives all the outline code you need for integration with the activity stream, adding new menus / screens within a user profile, and creating classes / custom post types to store your data.
You won’t need any new tables – WordPress custom posts and data storage in wp_post_meta should give you all you need.
I’d suggest you’ll probably want a new custom post type for storing your playlists, and can make use of the existing WordPress video post format for the actual videos.
It’s not easy coding, but if you know your way around PHP, and WordPress custom post types / taxonomies, you’ll be fine.
cheers, Roger

ParticipantGo in via ftp/control panel or whatever access you have to your hosting account files and rename the BP plugin folder this will force a deactivation and should let you back in to your site admin, then you might need to investigate what PHP memory limit you have and if low get it raised.

MemberHi modemlooper, I tried deactivating and re activating BuddyPress and deleting it and re installing BuddyPress but still the same problem, every time i try to install buddypress-share-it v1.2 the same error comes up. I then tried installing buddypress-share-it Version 1.1.7 and its working fine, Don’t know why v1.2 is not working for me, But apart from the new version not working for me great plug in keep up the good work.
PS If you come up with a fix please let me know or i might have to wait for the next version.
I am using WordPress Version 3.4.1
BuddyPress Version 1.5.6July 2, 2012 at 10:59 pm #136719modemlooper
ModeratorI need more info than “it doesn’t work” if you want a fix. I’ve installed it on 5 different servers without fail. Try deactivating BuddyPress and re activate or even delete it and re install. The error above is not finding the BP component class and this is included in BuddyPress.

ParticipantI’m not sure if this is allowed but here is the previous version: http://rapidlibrary.com/files/buddypress-share-it-1-1-7-zip_ulc8ffytfwi89on.html
note: I didn’t upload this so upload, download and install this at your own risk.
tried with 1.1.7 and it works great, great plugin by the way. have no idea why 2.0 is not working on my site.

Member@mercime sorry to revive this topic, I followed your instructions, but buddypress is not correctly aligning yet (eg. http://www.linkin-park.it/newsite/members/linkin-park-italy/activity/). I’m using WordPress 3.4.1, Buddypress 1.5.6 and InStyle Theme 2.7. I’ve attached some code from my theme. Let me know if you can help me out, thanks in advance!

MemberI added the files, but the alignment doesn’t seem to want to work for me. I tried copying what I need to copy and no go!
Help is much appreciated @karmatosedJuly 2, 2012 at 9:17 pm #136711Tammie Lister
ModeratorHave you used the template pack for BuddyPress? You need to either use that or make your theme a child theme of BuddyPress default. This is because the theme you are using is not a BuddyPress compatible theme from what I can see.

ParticipantBuddyPress doesn’t use custom post types, and doesn’t have an XML-RPC API yet (well, not that I’m aware of).
I guess your first stage is to implement your own XML-RPC interface for the specific BuddyPress functions you want to hook into.

ParticipantProblem resolved; plugin related problem. De-activated the plugin first, then upgraded Buddypress and finally re-activated the plugin. No more fatal errors.

Moderatorsorry for this self promo, maybe you can try this plugin : https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-checkins/, it adds a map in member / friends view with the latest position of the friends of the user… I know it’s not replying to your need at 100%. But i agree with Hugo, dealing with all members on a map is a huge challenge.
