It would have helped to know which ( parent ) theme you are using and ideally a link to it….

ParticipantI figured it out. I’d re-installed buddypress so many times I’d forgotten to make the theme compatible. Now the form shows up how I want it to…but when filled out, the form doesn’t create a new user or send an email, it just refreshes! No one can register! Help!

Participant@mercime thanks for replying…..just read back my poorly written post. yes it has been a while please forgive.
Not the blog’s loop, I meant to say the blogs-loop.php ( the site tracking directory ) for multisite.
I’m wanting to replace the bp_blog_avatar with a post thumbnail belonging to the bp_blog_latest_post.

@ChrisClayton
Participant@jkrysto i’m not the greatest with the theme template pack conversion stuff (i prefer to start from scratch) but essentially what it’s asking you to do is make sure that if your page.php has a `
` then you need to include that div within the BuddyPress templates.Theres a hands-on tutorial on integrating the TwentyTen theme with BuddyPress that might help: https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/
April 14, 2012 at 10:20 pm #132974In reply to: /activity is missing?
@ChrisClayton
Participant@Ubuntuz – Assuming that the activity page is the only page not working then, BuddyPress (with your permission) does create it during the activation process. To check if it was created properly go to your wp-admin and then click Buddypress’ menu and then click the ‘pages’ tab. Does it have a page selected for activity?
Also are you using a custom theme or bp-default theme? if it’s a custom theme then the page will show a white-screen if you do not have an activity/index.php template in your theme.

MemberI’m really trying to understand this
“Alternatively, you may find it easier to make copies of your theme’s header.php, sidebar.php and footer.php and rename them to header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php, and footer-buddypress.php.
Then you can alter the structure of these new template files (header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php, and footer-buddypress.php) to resemble your theme’s page.php (or index.php).”
So I can make those new pages but then alter the structure of them to “resemble” your themes page.php file? I have my page.php too and see the html structure but these directions seem a bit vague to me on what needs to happen in the newly created files.
Are there any tutorials on this blog about integrating themes? I’m struggling to find any material on it. I’m hoping to resolve this today if anyone has some insight. Thanks

Participant@tiagobeloto – It should work.
The code from defunctlife in that thread works perfectly as a copy/paste except for the missing $dispuser variable…What’s the exact code your using?

Participant@nahummadrid In general, template files used:
1. index.php file – move link to author into post meta then replace the author-box div with your new post thumbnail div
2. functions.php – add support for post thumbnail
3. theme’s stylesheet – add styles (e.g. float: left;) to your post thumbnail div and margin for your post title, post meta and post content
4. (optional) archive.php, tags.php, category.php, search.php etc.WP Codex – https://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Thumbnails
Old Tuts, good reference – http://www.kremalicious.com/2009/12/wordpress-post-thumbnails/

Participant@jkrysto –
Theirs code snippets around that will help you choose your own default avatar – http://wpmu.org/how-to-add-a-custom-default-avatar-for-buddypress-members-and-groups/Their’s currently no built in screen to do it because BuddyPress inherits some of the WordPress’ philosophy’s Including Decisions not Options “It’s our duty as developers to make smart design decisions and avoid putting the weight of technical choices on our end users.”
Though, it might be a good enhancement ticket in trac.

MemberIt doesn’t work on the BuddyPress Default 1.5.5 Theme. I have the latest version of WP 3.3.1/BP 1.5.5. I installed the script manually via FTP. I tried deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and also using just the bp-default theme. No luck. Hmmmm…I feel like its right under my nose…but can’t seem to pin point it.

ParticipantI do not want to completely turn this off. Instead, I want to disable this only for specific profile fields. How can I do that?

Participant== Note! Now I noticed that even in your demo site has this problem http://testbp.org ==
Posting in testbp.org two ways were successful:
1. Via Group BuddyPress Features and Usability > Forums > Add New – then posted topic – see http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-features-and-usability-632843827/forum/topic/testing-group-forum-topic-create/

ParticipantNo, I just have buddypress. And my template is smileth by myreviewplugin, so I have no idea. Is there a file using ftp that drives wordpress signup? I could just re-route it to go to my /register page…
April 14, 2012 at 3:56 pm #132953@mercime
Participant== I also double checked to see if it was a theme issue or not ==
What theme are you using? WP/BP versions? Did you install WP via webhost script or manually e,g. via FTP? Have you done basic troubleshooting like deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and changing to bp-default theme?April 14, 2012 at 3:03 pm #132952In reply to: [Resolved] Changing Member Profile Submenu Order
