MemberHi @mercime,
Having difficulty finding the wp-config.php file in the server.
Looked in all the folders under wp-admin & wp-content and can’t see a wp-config.php file.We have enabled the Group Forum and have the forum set up correctly in BuddyPress.
Any further tips please?
ps: Cannot open a new ticket in our development tracker – it won’t let me in with login requested!

ParticipantB. Create a blank file sidebar-buddypress.php and in it add:
`
`Save file.
Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your tpsunrise folder in server wp-content/themes/tpsunrise/

@mercime
ParticipantFor http://www.campertrailerseniors.net using TP Sunrise theme found at WP Repository https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/tpsunrise
If you’ve touched/revised any of the BP Template files transferred to your tpsunrise folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP Template folders from your tpsunrise theme folder. After that, run Appearance > BP Compatibility process again so you’ll get clean new BP template files transferred to your folder.
You only need to create two new files and upload both to your WP theme’s folder in your server wp-content/themes/tpsunrise/
A. Copy tpsunrise theme’s header.php file and save as header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the very bottom of the file, below all code add this:
``Save file.

ParticipantIMHO, you just can’t buy a ferrari if you don’t have money to mantain it as well as you can’t start your social network without the money to upgrade your server resources.
i think this is your main problem, since, you can optimize the resource the best you can, but, whenever your network will grow up you will need to add extra resources.
little example: the most used feature of all social networks, i think is the Activity Stream, that should track each user action, well, where do you think all this information where stored?
Best regards

MemberYesterday, with Post Toolbar deactivated, the problem returned. I eventually found that deactivating Front End User, made everything happy again. I reactivated Post Toolbar once more.
This morning I found it wasn’t working once again, so I deactivated Post Toolbar for a moment and then reactivated it. Everything hunky dory once again. What sort of issue would cause this problem to be intermittent in this way?
Assuming it is a jQuery issue, is this something that can be fixed or is it a case of choosing different plugins?

KeymasterBuddyPress doesn’t do anything for blogs except track new blog posts and comments in the activity stream.
WordPress handles all blog creation. If you want your users to be able to create blogs, you’ll first need to change your WordPress install into a network:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_NetworkBe sure to read the “Do you really need a network?” section as well:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network#Do_you_really_need_a_network.3FIf you just want your users to contribute to your existing WordPress blog, then you’ll need to make your users authors:

KeymasterThere’s a WordPress theme called P2:
http://p2theme.com/It’s not compatible with BuddyPress though, however there is a fork of P2 (called P2 Reloaded) that reportedly supports BuddyPress:
http://p2reloaded.com/2011/07/3-0-beta-release/I haven’t tested it myself.

KeymasterIf you need this functionality now, try out the BP Group Email Subscription plugin:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-group-email-subscription/There are a few bugs to iron out, but I’m working on a few of them with the plugin authors.

ParticipantI *think* I have narrowed it down to the Buddypress template pack, which has kinda confused me since square one, like 2 years ago….

ParticipantThank you, but still having problems.

I removed everything from the server and started over. I completed the BuddyPress Setup steps and when I clicked Finish & Activate I got the same 500 error.
Afterwards I updated wp-config.php, the .htaccess file, & upped the memory limits for the site. I tried in different browsers, but to no avail. I don’t have access to my php.ini file, so I’m hoping that’s not the problem. The site seems to be working fine, but the dashboard is still not functional.
Here are the errors I got from the error log:

Are you able to tell what the problem is from those error logs? Thanks again!

KeymasterWe’ll get most of this when we switch to using bbPress 2.0 for group forums, which will be possible in BuddyPress 1.6 & bbPress 2.1.

ParticipantAm still trying to find out how to do this. I’ve had a look at various themes and not found one that has it.
Can anyone at least tell if it’s possible to do this with Buddypress?

KeymasterSounds like you’re having a jQuery conflict causing the AJAX calls to fail. If you’re using other plugins, deactivate them one by one to find it. Also disable any jQuery code you’ve added.

ParticipantI use it with buddypress…. Since bp 1.5 the main buddypress pages show up with the plugin default settings and you can add extra pages on the settings page…
There might be a better plugin (or even theme…) to handle buddypress sitemap.xml files out there though….

MemberYeah, definitely going to avoid them from now on. I use buddypress so I don’t think that sitemap generator works with buddypress and I can’t seem to find a good buddypress sitemap generator. Do you happen to know of any? Would just using the google sitemap generator be better than nothing? I don’t think it would link to any of my buddypress pages though.
