ParticipantCreating a post is redirecting to the home page for me (perhaps an auto 404 redirection?).
The forum search also bounces to the home page.

ParticipantThe first thought is cache plugin not working well in your install. The second thought is outdated theme or plugin.
1st step in troubleshooting, change to bp-default theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress.

Moderator@boone –
I used to be able to see a list of my forum posts.
That is no longer available.
They used to show up under the activity tab.
It was very helpful to review prior forum postsI tried Forums -> Topics Started etc.
Nothing works. Is there a different way to accomplish this?

@mercime
ParticipantYou make a WP theme compatible with BP via the BP Template Pack plugin. The whole process is explained in the first link and an example in the second link.
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/ where it shows how you can hardcode the navigation tabs/links to BP components and regular WP pagesLearning curve on CSS is relative to time allotted to learning and interest in the subject matter. You can start off with online CSS tutorials and continue from there

Participant@shaunokeefe, i think this plugin can handle what you want : https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/welcome-pack/ . it will give you ability to edit email notification content. you can try it and see how it goes.

KeymasterAll these little odds and ends are good to know about. Search is a known issue, but I hadn’t noticed tags not working. If you all notice any other oddities, note them here.

MemberHi again, I haven’t been able to progress from here in the last week. I would have thought this would be a common question?? Perhaps I’m missing something obvious as nobody has replied to my original question above.
Could someone please help to steer me down the right track? …I’m looking to edit the content of the notification emails for BuddyPress activity like PM’s etc… simply, I just want to delete the content of PM so it doesn’t show within the email notification…
Thanks in advance folks.

ParticipantI was able to find the file causing the issue after renaming the /buddypress/ folder to /buddypress-abc/.
After gaining access to the admin board I started deleting files one at a time and found that if I delete bp-forums.php in the main buddypress directory the dashboard problem was solved. That is, I was able to have buddypress working at the same time as my dashboard.
I never installed a beta version. All I did was click the “enabled” option for forums in the Component Setup area of buddypress settings in the dashboard. Now that I’ve deleted the bp-forums.php file, that option is no longer available in my dashboard.
If at all possible, I would love to be able to re-enable it if I can figure out how to get it to actually work. But if I upload the file back then the admin breaks again. Any ideas?
