Actually BuddyPress core should be amended to work with any WP theme

There are two hooks BuddyPress uses when editing a profile that you can hook into:

`do_action( ‘xprofile_profile_field_data_updated’, $field_id, $_POST );
do_action( ‘xprofile_updated_profile’, $bp->displayed_user->id, $posted_field_ids, $errors );`

These actions are in the xprofile_screen_edit_profile() function in bp-xprofile.php.

The function_exists() conditional is important because if you ever upgrade BP Template Pack, you’ll get an error.

If you are looking to install disqus, I must warn you that buddypress and disqus don’t get along with eachother, unless you are willing to pay $150/month for disqus premium.

If you have disqus free+ buddypress, all of your users will have to sign up again to disqus. The premium disqus has membership syncing, the free does not.

Add to your theme’s functions.php.

*Sidenote: I’m working on my own “template pack” plugin, tentatively titled “BuddyPress Theme Unite!”, which will make it way easier for theme developers to add support for BuddyPress to their WP theme.

Add the following to your theme’s functions.php:

This will only work in a forum topic loop.

The register page uses a BP template:
/registration/register.php

You could add some verbiage before the registration form in that template, perhaps a link to your blog post?

If you’re currently using the bp-default theme, create a child theme, copy /registration/register.php to your child theme and modify the template anyway you like (just don’t break anything

If user #1 becomes a friend of user #2, then the wp_bp_friends will add only 1 entry to the wp_bp_friends DB, not two.

To clarify, do these plugins work as expected when used with just wordpress, but not when integrated with buddypress?

I have created child blogs on a wpmu/bp install.

how do I get the child blog to integrate into the network? list forums/groups/profiles etc?

It seems my child blogs are as if the BP/WPMU main site does not exist?
