Hey

I would like to start by saying thanks to creating Buddypress. I love it! And find it so useful to what I have created. But I have few problems.

1. I try to register a “rest user” . I get a confirmation link to follow, but it does not register me. It says Error and then it does not allowed me to log in. I spoke to Parallelus (Salutation) about this problem, and they told me it is a Buddypress issue.

2. I am not able to find the tempalte to CREATE AN ACCOUNT when u choose to register so I can add few more lines/subjects as age, profession etc to the registered user profile. At the moment I only have NAME http://stockholmsocial.se/register/
Where can I add those line to it, where is the form? I only find contact form, which I have amended perfectly. (once again Parallelus about this issue and they told me it is a Buddypress issue.

3. I also would like to hide all users for NON Members, how do I do that? At the moment people can see users online and their status event though they are not members. I tried to find a CSS to add the function-is-user-logged-in but cant find.

4. I have activated the WordPress Social Log in buttons FB, Twitter, Linked etc and they show only when I log in as admin, but I would like it to show under the button REGISTRATION and LOG IN in the front page. I copied the shortcode, but does not work.

I get this message

An error occurred when the site was getting http://stockholmsocial.se/register/. It may be down for maintenance or be configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:
Load the Web page again later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was that the server could not fulfill the request.

Issue is that I want to set up BuddyPress so that group administrators can monitor (approve/disapprove) the creation of “topics” within their particular group. I know there is a group restrictions plugin…

I am moving a large group of people from Facebook to BuddyPress. Some are asking if they can be notified via email with all their friend’s activities.

Is it possible to have all activity done by people on your friend list sent to you via email?

Is it possible to have newly created forums sent to everyone?

I’ve just installed an external Buddypress plugin named YD Profile Visitor Tracker.
I hope someone of us is using this too.

I’ve followed the instructions at http://buddypress.org/community/groups/yd-profile-visitor-tracker/ and http://www.yann.com/en/wp-plugins/yd-profile-visitor-tracker

But it’s throwing this error:

Warning: strip_tags() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/frisco/wp-content/plugins/yd-profile-visitor-tracker/inc/pvt.inc.php on line 392

From line 388-392 I’ve found this code:

I’ve tried to fix this by modifying line 392:

$data = strip_tags( (string) $value ); `

But now it’s throwing this error:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /home/frisco/wp-content/plugins/yd-profile-visitor-tracker/inc/pvt.inc.php on line 392

I hope someone is using this BP plugin too. Who can help me to fix this?

According to this trac bp_new_mention_count_for_user() will not be released til 1.7

I can confirm that as it kills my site when i try to run it.

Therefore this should work

echo bp_total_mention_count_for_user();

but it returns a zero.

I also tried and failed with

echo bp_total_mention_count_for_user($bp->loggedin_user->id);
echo bp_new_mention_count_for_user($bp->loggedin_user->id);

Any ideas?

Good morning.

I´ve installed and configured buddypress at my subdomain aula.naturcoach.es

Once configured, I can´t access my admin panel, and the bp pages(members, activity, etc…) are blank pages. I´ve checked the mod_rewrite is installed at my server and I´ve tried with diferent permalink configurations.

Can someone help me?

Hi all, I’ve created a custom member list page so we can search and filter by custom s2Member fields in various ways.

Most stuff is working, including things like bp_core_get_userlink and bp_add_friend_button which I have simply passed the $user_id into. However I can’t get each members last active information to display. It either returns blank or as “never updated” – any idea’s how I can call this in my custom code (ie outside of the standard buddypress member loop)?

Inside the default BuddyPress Theme the main template files have the default WP get header code like this.

php get_header()

And inside the sub-folders they have a buddypress header why is that because i can’t find a different header-buddypress.php

php get_header( 'buddypress' )
