Thanks for the info, I checked both of them out and actuly I started some chat thing with TMD and eneded up going with them. They seem pretty knowledgable and they are setting up buddypress MU and everything.

6) the BuddyPress links don’t work as the mobile theme isn’t compatible, so hack them in on the command line:
$ cd ?pathto?/wp-content/themes/mobile_pack_base/
$ ln -sf ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/activity ./
$ ln -sf ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/forums ./
$ ln -sf ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members ./
$ cd ../mobile_pack_blue/ (or the one you’re using, but not base)
$ ln -sf ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/groups ./
How do I go about hacking them in command line?

Ok, so I found this; https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2350. Its the same problem but priority changed from major to normal . Why? Its a show-stopper!

My users (blogers) want to have their blog closed and only people with accounts allowed to see their blog should be able to see it (using plugin additional-privacy.php). So, they go into users and hit “add user”, selects a username and fill out their friends e-mail address. This is when the URL gets wrong…
The fact that I have a correct value (“activate”) in BP_ACTIVATION_SLUG does not change this faulty address that is being sent in the e-mail.
So, this must be a bug, right? And what can I do to go around it temporary before it gets a permanent fix?
it seems to be a problem, to use buddypress & a buddypress template… plugin works without buddypress and it works if buddypress is activated but no buddypress-template active…
any idea?

Yup, it works fine. I like simple solutions.
I’m still playing with s2member, and learning about the amazing amount of customization it allows. For example, I’ve set up a membership/upgrade page where the displayed content changes according to logged-in status and subscription level. The same can be done for any page, post, category, tag, Buddypress component, etc.
experiencing the same problem with the wrong group count at the group directory page. I have 1 group but it says 5 total and my groups is 3. I’ve installed BP-group management and it also just finds 1 group.
I tried to switch to the patch files from https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2614 but it only lead to the group count goin down to zero and I was unable to create any new groups. BP-group management then also found no groups. When I went back to the original files I was back to the same problem. 1 actual group, says 5 & 3.
So I don’t know if I could have done the patching wrong or if this is something that isn’t solveable.
Is it possible to enter the mysql database and remove the groups from there, to manually update the group count?
this is on my list on things to buy at a later time. the price is too much for me as of the moment.
I’m having the exact same errors with an install of BP, everything works, except the “failing” group creation process and errors on the forums.
I’m not getting any PHP errors in my logs neither, using latest versions of WP 3.0.1 and BuddyPress 1.2.5.2
I had BP Group Management enabled but it doesn’t change much.

@mercime, I am with WP 3.01 BP1.252
there are 2 fields, Primary Language(text box) shows something like “O4hDNZAiV” or “7rj462jpc”, and About me(text Area) shows something like “s2MtUZWWDRJYlj” or “jJxbfMDAPTIJK4r”
This only happens on newly registered members. For old members, even input new information in profile the first time, it still works normal.

Single install of WP 3.0.1 and you[ don’t even need BuddyPress. You can even use the Mingle Forums plugin which doesn’t require the Mingle plugin or SimplePress Forum plugin. As for central profile area, you can create WP author template plus a WP page template coded to taste for list of authors and you’re done.
@imjscn what BP/WP versions are you using? What are the labels/fields for the 2 profile fields which are exhibiting meaningless letters?

Once you have your child theme up and running smoothly, may I suggest trying my plugin: Add All Nav Links to BP-Adminbar. The plugin allows you to add pretty much whatever you want to the adminbar, style it to match the overall look and feel of your theme, and even to replace the main theme navigation with your customized adminbar. (It only modifies the adminbar on the main site; sub-blogs remain as they are.) Check it out here:

If you’ve used XAMP/WAMP for your local install, look for a text file called (predictably) “passwords”. You’ll find the info you need there.
