Participant@RogerCoathup okay thanks it works now. Now the gender is not working. It works when I use it in profile-loop.php but not in member_header just after the nick like nickname(gender/age) @nickname…

Roger Coathup
ParticipantIn general, you need to look in the wp-content/plugins folder to find the code for your widgets.
The code for the built-in groups widget is in wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-groups/bp-groups-widgets.php

ParticipantI’ve just found out my problem. It’s because of the incompatibility between Buddypress plugin and qTranslate plugin (mutilingual support). I’ve solved it. Thanks

Roger Coathup
Participant@tubruk if you are having a problem using Adam at Hyperspatial’s functions for age (they look fine to me), then please leave a comment for him on his blog
The code you have for gender needs to be used inside a loop that’s iterating over fields, and have the correct profile fields and values set up for gender. You say you got the code from somewhere… Have you asked there about why it doesn’t work for you?
If you don’t get an answer on gender… Start a separate thread, but post a lot more information and code showing exactly how you are trying to use the code

Participant@ajaxmac It was never a procedure that would resolve all issues, sorry to hear it wasn’t a help in your case. If you want any further help with the issue then you will need to provide clear detail on your setup and of the issue you are encountering, and to create a new topic rather than continue in this one.

r-a-y
KeymasterYou’d have to create your own conversion script.
If Sharetronix offers some type of export functionality, this would probably make things a little easier, though you’d still need to build a script so WordPress / BuddyPress can parse it.

KeymasterYou’ll want to use Paul Gibbs’ Welcome Pack plugin for new users to have a bunch of default friends :
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/welcome-pack/By default, Welcome Pack sends friend invites; to have the plugin auto-accept friend invitations, read this:

September 3, 2010 at 6:51 am #91403In reply to: to use Buddypress function in my theme….
r-a-y
KeymasterFirst, you have to ensure that you have BuddyPress installed and activated.
Next, make sure you are correctly typing in the BuddyPress function you want to use.Without knowing what function you’re trying to use, it’s hard to give further advice.

ParticipantHey – it worked! Thanks a go-zillion! I had temporarily abandoned this endeavor, going back to DNN… but it’s just not as intuitive as WordPress / BuddyPress, so I was was very happy to find that you’d posted this solution.

And my entry.php is here: http://pastebin.com/VZ1hNBT0September 2, 2010 at 4:35 pm #91352In reply to: Release for 1.2.6?
paulhastings0
Participant@rossagrant That would be 9 tickets, 6 of which have patches. https://trac.buddypress.org/query?status=assigned&status=new&status=accepted&status=reopened&group=status&milestone=1.2.6
Most of the tickets have been fixed and the remaining ones either have patches or loop pretty “puntable”. A couple of the major reasons I’d like to see 1.2.6 released soon is because:
1. It allows to @jeffsayre release his long-awaited privacy plugin
2. It fixes the “sent X hours ago relative to GMT” PM bug.
3. It enhances the CSS styling for the way that activity replies are shown. -
