Topic: Expire passwords

Wordpress 3.1.3
BuddyPress 1.2.9I have applied a password strength rule on creating and changing passwords. I now need to expire my users passwords (about 7000+) in order to force them to conform to the rule. I tried using the plugin “PassExpire” but it does not detect any users on my wordpress install. I assume this is because buddypress handles users in a different way, or maybe passexpire is not multisite compatible.
Has anyone here had experience expiring buddypress passwords? I really need to figure this out. About 1 hour of google searches has turned up no solutions.
I currently have chatware that I use and love called Addon Chat Interactive…but it does cost me monthly and since I’m in the process of a complete overhaul of my site, http://www.mommychats.com with WP and BP, I thought I’d look into some chat plugins that might work just as well for me.
It needs to be sharp looking (I hate ugly interfaces), and user friendly…and its mandatory that I have access to downloading chat transcripts. I do moderated topical chats and I need to be able to have the transcripts to post later, to add to my site.
Can anyone make any recommendations for me?
I kind of agree with @djpaul. The average user will (or at least should!) have WP_DEBUG disabled, and will (or should!) have error reporting turned off. In that sense, those plugins are in fact compatible with BP 1.5. (To put that another way, if we go by the strict standards, they were never compatible with any version of BP

Yes, the testers are quite good, if there is something wrong with a plugin they will probably find it. At the far right of the spreadsheet is a column listing the errors they found.

I saw your .htaccess redirect post for mismatch 301 and tried it but I think I need it customized for activity streams?
In my example, certain activity posts are just going to the front page of my site rather than the post itself, they’re all coded like: http://www.site.com/activity/p/0001 when you click ‘view’ it just goes to the home page
Pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get them to refresh or something. My permalink structure is /%post_id%/%postname%

Is Buddypress compatible with any WordPress theme? Or, are only some WordPress themes capable of using Buddypress?

I’ve been troubleshooting for a good amount of time now and have run out of ideasMaybe I’m not understanding, not maybe, definitely, not understanding the whole roles and user blogs relationship within Multisite and Buddypress. I’m getting all kinds of craziness happening Seen here and now after years of registering users and blogs being created and adding users to some sub sites and not others, I’m left with users belonging to some sites not others, some where superadmin is a “hidden” admin on some subsites where he can’t be removed! And I’m just confused to how all of this is “supposed” to be set up right where I don’t get the “as seen here” issue above. I’m gettting some users who don’t even get assigned a primary blog at all while others get assigned a random site as their primary blog. I just want to get to a point where all admin sites are well managed as far as users go and where user blogs are clear of random subscribers, where everyone is either admin to their own blog or they belong to the mainsite and all is good.
What is the best way to have roles assigned to users on a buddypress multisite install.
I would think all members should belong to the main site at registration, right? Not any other admin site in the network. At least just the main site.
Once,if, the member creates a blog, that particular blog becomes that members primary site, right?
If a user contributes a post to any other site in the network, does that site become part of that user’s sites? as seen on wp-admin/network/users.php where users get listed a column called “Sites” with blogs they’ve somehow become part of.
When I activate/reactivate buddypress what happens that chaos occurs to my wp_bp_user_blogs table where users begin getting assigned different blogs that they are not admin on. And superadmin blogs begin getting dropped from the table all together.
What should a regular user’s role be in a buddypress multisite network? What the heck is “member” and “inactive” role.
Why do users have to be assigned a role to be recognized as an author on another blog on a network? I have many sites in network that have frontend posting forms where users can submit posts. I trust that because they are part of the network that this would be no big deal…often times I need to add this user to the specific blog for different authoring things to work properly and for the member to be recognized as the author. So that’s where I have to add members to sites that begins to muck things up in the questions above.
how can I reset the primary_blog in the wp_usermeta table for all users to be the main site?
How can i reset the blogs and userids in the wp_bp_user_blogs table to be only superadmin and his blogs & users and their blogs that they are admins on…ONLY.
How is all this related within the world of bp!? It’s causing me a lot of pain right now! Please help. Can someone point to a BP Multisite User Roles for Dummies post somewhere? And also a plugin that will “force” user roles to all network members the way I want them.
Topic: Qik with BuddyPress
Has anyone created a plugin or widget using Qik.com’s API structure? I am looking to allow members to stream video from their mobile device. I am aware of oEmbed, but that will not complete the task.

@boonebgorges I just added the changes shown on https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/4939 and it worked JUST FINE!!!! thanks a lot, man, really! Excuse my ignorance but what is the repo url of this “more-fixed-version” of bp? so that I can checkout this and test “up-to-date”
