Topic: Adding a like/unlike button?
Hi, I’m wondering if it’s possible to add a like-button (like on facebook) to posts in BuddyPress (and while we’re at it why not add an unlike button as well)?
A member should only be able to like OR unlike a post, not both and should also be able to change what they think about the post (of course also choose to be neutral once again after regretting a like/unlike decision)
And following in the footsteps of facebook any visitor should also be able to see the number of like/unlikes and the users behind them.
So what do you say, can it be done?
Added as a feature, widget, plugin?

I’ve styled my BuddyPress admin bar to fit my theme better and it looks great!
Only problem is that it doesn’t look great at all when I’m in the wp-admin area.
Is there a way to make it look different on the site and in the admin area?

Topic: How Do I move The Admin Bar?
Hey,
This is my first post and this is actually my first day with wordpress-mu, buddypress, and ive worked a little bit with bbpress. So I bought the church theme from studiopress.com and the admin bar is stuck inside the wrapper div right where there is a block showing an rss icon and comments and the date. I was a little confused because on every other theme i have seen it outside of the wrapper div so that its completely epxpeaded at the very top of the page. I have searched on google and in the forums and i haven’t found a fix or one i could at least understand. I’ve looked through all of my pages to try and see where it would be located to be able to move it but i couldn’t either. I wanted to see if i could at least change it in firebug and that worked but i just couldn’t find the right stuff to change the position so does anyone know how i could do this?
Hey. I’m relatively new to buddypress and php coding.
I am trying to call in the thumbnail versions of a user’s avatar in order to create a link to go back to that user’s profile to put at the top of the friends, group, blogs etc. pages (somewhat ala facebook).
this is the code i am toying with:
<a href="<?php bp_user_link() ?>"><?php bp_the_avatar() ?></a>however, the “bp_the_avatar” calls in the full size version. i tried resizing to no avail. Does anyone know the call for the thumbnail version?
I just want to call the same thumbnail used for wire posts basically. thanks!!
Topic: group wire problem

when I try to post to the wire, and click submit, it keeps sending me to my profile page and is not making the post to wire…
what am I doing wrong?
driving me absolutely nuts on this one, no way I am this dense, hmm maybe I am? LOL

Where did I go wrong?
I just found the ‘dashboard’ in my profile page, and thought the idea of showing my favorite forum posts was a cool idea. As I had none, I went to the forums and chose a topic as a favorite in the forum. The forum shows the thread as my favorite
However, when I go to the dashboard, nothing shows up.
Further:
When I click on the manage favorites, it says ‘user not found’ – return to forums…
I figured that as andy said he was going to release the dashboard code someday, that he would want to know about this bug.
I’m hoping this code is realeased soon, as I love this idea..
There is also a bug on my profile page as well.
I am a member of 2 groups, and on my main profile page on this site, when I click on either group icon, it takes me to /groups not the actual group it should be. There is no way of knowing which groups those icons are actually for, or a way to get to my groups via the profile page…
There seems to be an issue on my buddypress install where one of our members blogs hijacks my home page. After a while It will show the MOdestoBuzz.com homepage, but right now it is still showing one of our members blogs instead.
Please help if you can.

Forgive me if this has been asked before I can’t find any relevant posts:
Basically what I want to achieve is to move the functionality of elements from the secondary nav items of the buddybar, specifically Dashboard, New Post, Manage Posts, Manage Comments:
And have them display for a Logged in User when they visit their own ‘My Blogs’ page in their profile page.
So then I can remove/ hide the buddybar, direct new users to their profile page from where they can click the link to add a new post and access their blog admin.
I want to remove the buddybar for integration/ design purposes and to me it seems most logical that a user would be able to maintain their blog from within buddypress having navigated to ‘My Blog’. (I will limit each user to one blog)

Topic: about the wire
Hi, i’m creating a Classifieds component for buddypress.
I would like to be able to add a Wire on every single classified page.
I succeed to do it; the problem is that there is a “See All” link on this Wire that goes to /groups/classified-1/wire instead of /classifieds/classified-1/wire.
The functions that calls the wire is a core function;
bp_wire_get_post_list( $item_id = null, $title = null, $empty_message = null, $can_post = true, $show_email_notify = false )Which loads a template that calls bp_get_wire_see_all_link().
But there is no place where I could set a custom url for this…
What should I do ?

Hi, I’m trying to add a page in the wp-admin for my component.
