Topic: Blank Space in username
Hi,
When I added the Widget called “user list” on my home page, I can see the latest username links.
One username has a Blank space between, like “john ccrot” which i click on his profile, I dont see his information in the profile.
These registrations are not done by “buddyPress” registration page. These users are coming using my wordpress blog normal registration page.
Please help.

I am creating my first plugin for buddypress.
Is there a variable which is assigned the username of the person logged in.
Something like $bp_current_user or something?
I need to create a link to their profile page, so the link would be something like:
<?php echo “www.example.com/members/”.$bp_current_user.”/profiles”; ?>

I love Viper’s plugin and run it on my non WPMU installs. Personally though, for my buddypress installation which is really focused on more Social and less blogging, I am happy with the normal BP admin bar. My thoughts are that someone comes up with a plugin to add the “extra” functionality to the BP admin bar, not merging it. Just my 2 cents
I have WPMU and buddypress successfully in my localhost.
I am using the Buddypress theme
I found this when user login with his username and password that login form changes into username/logout for eg:admin/logout
Instead of that i need the user to be redirected to his profile page so it will be nice for a social networking site
Where i have to change the coding i am puzzled here

My dev site basically isn’t finding anything that has to do with /members/ in the menu bar that it puts at the top.
I’ve followed the instructions to incorperate the current theme as a regular theme but not sure what’s happening. Any clues?

I managed to get a proof of concept going for twitter and friendfeed streams for users.

Twitter example is pulling from actual data stored in the “settings” panel, as i was talking about previously today. At this rate, this could easily be a lifestream “drop and it just works” plugin for BuddyPress in a week or so. I’m hoping to release more info and the files themselves. I’m hoping to try to add paging or a few other basic items before releasing it. Still trying to figure out what to do for Flickr.
Anyways, just wanted to throw hope into the pot.
Does anybody have a clue how they implemented the Captcha Verification in the registration form at the BuddyPress Demo Site?
This doesn’t seem to be included in the current SVN snapshot version. To me it looks like a more simple solution as configuring the WP-reCaptcha Plugin mentioned in another topic here?

Congrats on the new community, but for now i only have the time to monitor this particular forum. I imagine BuddyPress resources are going to be popping up in the next few months. You may repost it over there if you wish.

Just added this plugin to the mu-plugins directory but I have tried deleting this plugin too.. but still does not work….
Also when I go to someone’s profile it is displayed without any styling .. just the HTML.
Can some one please figure out what’s wrong?
