Take a look in the WordPress Plugin Directory to see if there’s anything there that would help.

Your po/mo files should be added to this path (create it if it doesn’t exist):

wp-content/languages/plugins/buddypress-xx_XX.mo (where xx is the lang ISO code) For english, en_EN or en_US…

If you need more details how translation are working, search for “translation” or “language” on the forum.

Be carefull and keep a copy of these files localy ! 😉

This isn’t a BuddyPress issue though is it!

As the message says your server or hosting account doesn’t have sufficient memory for php processes in this specific instance and needs to be increased. Contact your host to see whether this is possible and also search on the WP Codex for other ways of dealing with memory issues.

The best way is to use a customized language file. More info…
It may seem complicated, but once you’ve gone thru the process you’ll probably find it helpful for other situations.

Re #1 – I haven’t used this plugin, but the author is solid: bp-wake-up-sleepers.
It hasn’t been updated for a couple years, so it may not work with latest BP version.

Re #2: You could try this plugin: buddypress-profile-progression
I don’t think it sends an email, so you’d have to hack it to add that functionality.

One of the windows is showing a bunch of “-1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)” entries for /plugins/buddypress-media/. Just because it says “BuddyPress” in its name doesn’t mean it’s BuddyPress itself. 🙂

Can you remove this plugin and give it some time to see if your server crashes again?
Ultimately I think you need to contact support for that plugin (I’m assuming it’s RTMedia), but removing it and testing should pretty positively prove one way or another if it’s related to that.

If you can’t disable that plugin, then I think your only option is to talk to that plugin’s support team and hope they can figure something out.

Are you sure that the filter hook is being used? As opposed to simply being available?

Fixing the said bug has thrown us in the deep end… I’ve got quite a few more moderator tools/updates to go in over the next couple of days that should help us out on both BuddyPress.org and bbPress.org 🙂

I’ve made a ticket and we’ll try to get this fixed in BuddyPress 2.2 (due to be released mid/late January 2015). If the fix is easy for you to apply, once we do that, I’ll try to remember to come back and leave a note here.

Ah, good spot. Yes, I think BuddyPress should be nofollowing links in the group description field.

Without seeing the screenshots you mentioned that your support team provided, we still don’t know if it’s a BuddyPress issue — or related to one of the many other plugins you have running. If you’d like, forward those screenshots to me (paul at this domain .org) and I’ll see if it’s helpful here.

These pages are used internaly and dynamicaly by BP, depending their context. And in this, you preferably won’t to change their slugs.

If you need to add a message on them, you can use one of the do_action hook you’ll find on their respective template. For example, something before the content loop on the profile page:

1) if you narrowed down the culprit, the best is to ask for this on their support.

2) another way would be to re-check your forum settings, as explained here, as you use a general forum AND group forums.

3) use the buddypress repair tool

4) have you tested your install with one of WP’s twenty theme (just in case of…)

5) you could also activate debug in your wp-config to se if you get some information.

BuddyPress component pages like “activity”, “members”, etc are restricted to internal usage only. These page must stay empty in any case.
