Topic: Share Post to Activity Feed
Hello.
Apologies if this is asked elsewhere I’ve searched for some time and can’t find an answer to what I am looking for.What I want to happen seems very obvious to be a part of buddypress.
I’d like there to be a share or like button on a post or page that shares the post or page on the users activity feed.
The same as a facebook like or share button but all kept inside the buddypress site. There must be something out there. I’ve used Buddypress Like but that only allows a like on the activity stream, nothing on the actual post to just lick like or share.
Any help would be great.

I’m trying to add a new “Order by” clause in the filter section of the Groups loop, but not using metadata from buddypress but another plugin table installed in my site. I’ve been looking at this thread for a while https://buddypress.org/support/topic/adding-new-order-by-on-members-loop/ and also this https://codex.buddypress.org/plugindev/add-custom-filters-to-loops-and-enjoy-them-within-your-plugin/#add-a-custom-filter-to-the-members-groups-and-blogs-loops, but none quite work the way I want to, or maybe I’m just missing something because I’m unable to do it.I made this MySQL query:
SELECT g.id as id FROM 'wp_user_league_prediction' as p, 'wp_bp_groups_members' as m, 'wp_bp_groups' as g WHERE g.id = m.group_id AND m.user_id = p.user_id GROUP BY m.group_idWhich queries for groups following the criteria I need (groups whose users are also present in that table referenced there) and I want to use it (or something modified for that matter) to search in the ajax of the Groups Loop filter, so I tried to repurpose the code in the first link like this

I thought the group id would be enough for this but clearly there’s something not quite working and I don’t think it’s the query itself. I don’t know what to do with the $object after that, or what does it do when the $field_id is already referenced.
I really would appreciate some help with this, since this part of buddypress (ajax queries) has always stumped me.
Topic: BuddyPress Featured Groups
So I’ve followed the BuddyPress Codex for creating featured groups and it works nicely, but now I’m interested if anyone has expanded on that codex to enable additional features (https://codex.buddypress.org/plugindev/group-meta-queries-usage-example/). Specifically, I’d be interested in turning this into a plugin that allows for managing group metas. It would also be neat to build an extension that allowed the group owners to select from a limited selection of meta types, kind of like categories.

I am new to buddypress and I was wondering if it would be possible to make a login portal for certain types of users that gives them access to certain pages within their portal. I am trying to make a website for teachers that are trying to access specific lesson plans and I need a page for those users to access that information on their portal. If buddypress would work for this, what would I need to do to make this work. If buddypress wouldn’t work, what could I do to get this.

Hi all,
I’m trying to move the Favorites subnav tab and associated page so it appears instead underneath the Notifications nav tab. I don’t want to change what appears on the page by default, purely just move its location. I’m familiar with creating/removing new nav/subnav tabs but am unable to find the correct function to make the page appear as it does by default when its under the Activity nav tab.
(I also want to do the same with the Mentions subnav tab/page).
I’ve looked around for a good long while in the forums and the Buddypress files but am not making any headway apart from what I’ve pasted below. Am I calling the correct screen function & link?
Code I have in my bp_custom.php is:

Hi,
I need my users to be able to upload files to the media library and therefore need to somehow automatically set the user role to something other than the default “subscriber” when they register.I know in Settings > General you can set the ‘New User Default Role’, however if I change this to a role that allows user uploads this gives access to the main media library. If they could upload to their own media library that would be great but I don’t want everyone seeing everyone elses files in the media library.
I can’t find any documentation on this within Buddypress on how to do this and so have installed the Members Plugin to see if this would help but I am struggling to find out exactly how this would be implemented.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone know of any good BuddyPress AJAX tutorials? Having a bit of a problem getting my head around it.
Specifically, I am trying to get BP Profile Search to be fully AJAX, which it doesn’t appear to be (reloads page on ‘update’).
