@justraze BuddyPress uses the theme’s page.php file to render activated components and features. Strange that your theme’s page.php includes that metatag. Open up your theme’s page.php file and Save As > buddypress.php then remove the metatag from buddypress.php. Save and upload to theme folder in server wp-content/themes/NAMEOFYOURTHEME/

Check the value of the “bp-xprofile-fullname-field-name” entry in the WordPress “wp_options”-table.

SELECT * FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE 'bp-xprofile-fullname-field-name'

Its value should match the name of the profile field containing the Member-Name. Usually the same as whats returned by

SELECT name FROM wp_bp_xprofile_fields WHERE id = 1

If the value in bp-xprofile-fullname-field-name is invalid (for example: in my case it contained “Name” but I renamed the first profile field to “Lastname, Firstname”), BuddyPress goes bonkers and tries to execute an invalid SQL-query resulting in an empty memberlist.

The main problem is the code located in “plugins\buddypress\bp-core\bp-core-classes.php” around line 260:

$fullname_field_id is empty if the value in bp-xprofile-fullname-field-name points to an non-existing fieldname.

Nice snippets is this your site? I think it should also include the honeypot method which I made a very small plugin with here: https://github.com/bphelp/bp-spam-killer
You could easily use those functions in bp-custom.php etc. I am also liking BuddyDev’s BuddyPress Rate Limit User Activity plugin which provides activity stream throttling based on a time interval. It is however a premium plugin. You can get it here:

That is default behavior if you do not have an private community type plugins activated. You can make activity your landing page in dashboard/settings/reading or create a custom menu and add the activity page as a menu item if you don’t want it as a landing page:

Either way the activity stream is visible to logged-out-users, they just can’t post or comment.

@mistercyril, after a quick search, I found – https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-control/ you can have a look if you can use is for buddypress.

Note: I have not tested this plugin

I think I’ve come across this myself. I themed my activity pages so assumed the issue was caused by something I had introduced. I suggest you raise the issue at BuddyPress Trac where the developers can pick it up and confirm if it is a bug.

Have you succeeded in your pages list? I think it would be a helpful contribution to the codex. I did my best at covering buddypress and bbpress pages with the plugin Private Community For BP Right now the only thing that makes me hesitate releasing it to the repo is the uncertainty of if I covered all BP specific pages and the fact it has no dashboard page settings so users can specify which pages are off limits to logged out users. Anyway, just checking in on this thread because it has a lot of relevance.
