Hi,
It seems like when I enable buddypress on a site the captcha I set up gets bypassed and I get a lot of spam registrations. I am using a specific captcha that keeps track and I don’t seem to see anything there when I enable buddypress and get a lot of spam registrations.
Does buddypress open up a separate registration portal or an alternative registration form some where, and if so, how I put my specific captcha on it or disable that entirely?
I’ve searched here and found others with similar issues but the topics are closed and it doesn’t look like the ones i found were resolved.

Hello,
I am wondering why there is not an option to delete single photos in the Buddypress system? I can only find an option to make a photo Private so others cannot see the photo. But it would make a lot of sense for someone to be able to delete a photo wouldn’t it?

Im setting up my site with Buddypress registration that comes with the plugin. Is it possible for me to change or add a payment option at a later date? Do most people use the Buddypress reg and login widget/link on their sites? Or if we are planning on adding a payment option later on, is it better to work with something else from the start?

Topic: Security – Hidden groups
Hi all,
Hoping that someone may be able to help me 🙂 I am using the latest version of BuddyPress alongside BBP Press.
I have set up a forum with various groups. To view a group you need to register which is done via manually activating users after they have completed the registration process. Some of the groups are required to be hidden from certain users…
e.g. Group 1, can be viewed by any member when logged in. Group 2, can only be viewed by specific members.
I understand that I can set groups to Public, private and hidden but need to hide certain groups to only specific members.
If anyone has any advice on how I would go about achieving this I would greatly appreciate you help.

Hello 🙂 I use Buddyboss 3.2.3 with Buddypress 2.0.2 and BBpress 2.5.4. I have problem with site title. In the source code I have the following (i.e.):
<title> Group’s name | Forum title | Topic title | </title>
I would like to have:
<title> Topic title | Forum title | Group’s title | </title>
Is it any way to do it? I’m the beginner in wordpress and I don’t know, where I can find this.
I have installed buddypress but am getting the following error message:

Based on information the client has passed along I believe that this is occurring when she publishes an existing post. She reported that the screen just goes blank.
I’m not sure what to do to go about Troubleshooting this.

I’ve been building my own personal theme and with the latest release of BuddyPress the pagination no longer works.
Now seems to be the time to ajaxify the Activity Streams in this theme, thing is… I don’t have a clue how to do it.
I have custom markup in place within activity-loop.php and entry.php, so it’s not going to work. Also I don’t load buddypress.js in my theme.
I read this article http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2014/06/09/changes-to-bp_has_activities-queries-in-bp-2-1/ but I didn’t really understand it.
Would be ever so grateful if someone could give me some pointers as to how to integrate this functionality.

I’ve been browsing various directory plugins and BuddyPress options, but I am having difficulty determining the best course of action in building my site. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and advice you could lend me in this matter.
I would like to create a directory site in which there are two types of registered users (neither is charged to sign up).
The first user only has the ability to register strictly for privately messaging the second user type through BuddyPress.
The second user type has the ability to register by submitting a listing for their profile to appear in a searchable directory. I would like this user type’s registration to have custom form fields (BuddyPress extended profiles?). Geolocation is optional I suppose, provided that a custom field could substitute this if it is still a searchable option in the directory.
I intend on using X theme with the Ethos stack. I’m also looking for a way to display recently added directory profiles as featured posts (so they appear in the stack above navigation).

i am setting up a wp + bp-site (4.0, 2.1, theme: generate press), where users have xprofile pages and can edit their profile info, including their account email address and password, directly on the xprofile site. now, when a user wants to change his/her account email address, the following happens: buddypress asks for an activation link to be sent to the OLD email address and waits for the activation, but in fact the activation link is sent to the NEW mail address, resulting in an unsolvable conflict.
if i change the mail address in them wp-backend directly, no problem occurs.help highly appreciated.

A buddypress error is thrown that prevents the activity stream from functioning – on one particular server using one particular theme – Kleo
In order to demonstrate i have only buddypress and the theme active on http://dogdrill.com/ username: bingo password: bingo1!
It appears when using one particular theme on one particular server/host wpengine.
The error does NOT appear (with a similar configuration) on local installs and does not appear on another server/host (example given http://ashford.isourplace.ie/activity/ same credentials)

Thanks for your reply! I’ve taken a look into this issue, and from what I can see, it appears to be an issue with BuddyPress. The caching on the page is fully disabled, and there is only one error popping up consistently in the error log. Could you provide this to BuddyPress to see if they are aware of why this might be occurring on a small install?

after installing BuddyPress and activating the Extended Profile Extension I noticed that the “Base” tab for extra fields was repeated twice… I deactivated and reactivated only the Extended Profile extension and now I have 3 of them:
And on top of that no matter in which of them I add fields, they don’t show up in the registration form…
Anything to check?
Hey guys, I’m new here… an idea for a new plugin just cross my mind so I thought I should share it here. How cool It will be if users could change through their buddypress profile the primary blog.
as you know, in multisite user can be subscribe to many blogs. However, the blog the user registered first this is usually the user primary blog. Well at least in my case. My theme let the user to control every setting from the front end. So how cool if the user can change the primary blog from the front end rather than entering the confusing wp-admin.
I’m not a developer but I think it could be an easy thing for the one who knows how to write codes.
Basically to take the primary site drop-down list from user Dashboard -> My Sites -> Primary Site and place it in the buddypress.Have a great weekend !

Thank you for taking the time to help and read this help request. I am using wp 4.0 BP 2.1 and buddypress default for the theme. I have added some extended fields to the registration form and profile and this is what is happening.When filled out, you can view the fields as demonstrated below:
City/Town Nampa Starting Weight 296 Weight Goal 146 Current Weight 137But when you go to edit the profile, this is how it displays with no input boxes ect…
What City/town do you reside in This field can be seen by: Everyone Change The weight you weighed in at right before surgery This field can be seen by: Everyone Change What is your weight goal you would ultimately like to achieve? This field can be seen by: Everyone Change What is your current weight?Help Please. One can go to the WP side of things and go to their profile and there they can edit the extended fields, but would like this to work from here.

I have a WordPress multisite with BuddyPress enabled on the root domain. If I offer users an upgrade with domain mapping to an external, separate domain, is there a way for that domain’s posts, etc, to still show up in my BuddyPress activity feed?
If I’m using BuddyPress to build a community, I want to be careful about offering an upgrade that requires disconnecting from that community.
