Participant@r-a-y This is definitely only happening on Atahualpa, the problem is the moderators and users on the themes forum do not like to reply even though it has been read 70 times since i posted it and was approved by one of them, they have big bold writing at the top of the forum stating they will only answer questions off gold members who have donated more than 20 dollars.
If you have ever used this theme you will know it does things a little differently than other themes, dont get me wrong im all up for donating when i know the theme im working on is actually up to the job i need it to do for my current project, i don’t expect everything for free and have bought quite a few themes in the past etc and will donate once i know im going to actually use this theme for my final version. I mean this is more of a bug is it not? So to ignore a bug report rather than treat it as a question without giving an answer for all of its users and not just donators, i mean at least confirmation this bug will be addressed in another update would be welcomed, especially if its offered free on wordpress for download you would think they would give my post some acknowledgement at least. any-hows im not ranting on about how they operate their forums here lol and the moderators have helped alot of users over the years there as far as i can see , im more concerned about how i could fix this issue myself.
@youmin good idea but the problem with ata is it doesn’t even have a page.php im not sure if it uses index.php though, i will have a mess around with this idea, is anyone else familiar with this theme that could help me troubleshoot this?January 21, 2015 at 1:55 pm #232670In reply to: Where to add a code for forum

ModeratorHi @lovecoinz
Try asking over at bbPress as the solution you need is more related to that plugin rather than BuddyPress.

ModeratorA developer will certainly be able to help you with something like this as it isn’t a huge job. Check out the BP Jobs Board, you should be able to find a BP developer there.

Participantbut the tab to see all of their Likes is only available to them for privacy reasons.
In BP-buddyboss river, everyone can see what I have liked – so it is not private. Default BP does allow to see other users’ Favorits in the Favorit tab in Profile page – why does Buddyboss kills this? At least site admin should be able to turn it on or off.
Wall does not have every FB feature,
buddypress-activity-plus allows to post link, video etc quite nicely and is thus more user-friendly than the premium Wall plugin, imho. There is also a plugin by Brajesh that allow front-end blog posting via BP
Buddyboss is never meant to load every plugin but if a chosen few are bundled, it will be really good rather than re-inventing wheels at premium plugins, features of which are already available in the WP-BP repo. If users like us see thay they are well integrated into the Buddyboss look and feel there can be more sales of the Buddyboss theme actually.
We may make a spam solution at some point in time. This is a tricky one. Every solution you make only works for a bit, then the spammers figure out your tactic and update
Let wp com users at least post to pre-sales and/or free discussion forum. You can do this via jetpack

ParticipantThat’s a theme issue, you’re best taking that up with your theme developer. Or if you’re using a free theme, you could request custom development work here – https://buddypress.org/support/forum/plugin-forums/bp-jobs-board/

ParticipantI actually would have missed since this thread has become old! But thanks for responding at last.
1) Can I “Like” from a blog post and it will show in the activity stream? And vice versa?
2) Can an user see a collection of another users’ Likes? In the demo I saw this missing
3) How does the theme behaves in WP Multisite set up and/or with a standard 3rd party plugin eg buddypress-activity-privacy.1.3.3?
4) Media solution by buddyboss is separately priced but seems incomplete:
– Cannot mark directly on photo, see photo tagging in FB or other php scripts
– Cannot do multiple ( but max number settable by site admin) photo upload simultaneously
– Media files not integrated in WP media etc
5) How does the interface look like when one submits a blog – is he thrown out of the theme?
6) Less important – Wall comes as a separate premium plugin but does not let you post blog/event/location – nothing except photo. It has also only river display – some premium themes similarly priced offers both river and card display. No profile cover photo also ?True, we used to have an open forum, but we had too many spam signups and closed it to customers only.
I will request you to make a custom solution for yourself to prevent spam signups. This will be more creditable stuff encouraging us to go for custom solutions to Buddyboss. Thanks again.

ParticipantHey guys, this is Michael from BuddyBoss.
@style960 Thanks for the kind words 🙂Can you please share a link?
The next theme will be available later this month, so check back at buddyboss.com every so often and you’ll see it advertised there. It is an entirely new concept.
If you really want to play with it now, send an email to support at buddyboss dot com asking to be a beta tester, and I’ll let you in.
do you know how to contact the Buddyboss people for pre-sales queries?
Here I am, ask away 🙂
They seem to have no open forum
True, we used to have an open forum, but we had too many spam signups and closed it to customers only.
I submitted some queries via their contact form – and got no reply from them – its 4 days.
Sorry to hear. We are usually faster, but may have been slower due to the holiday season. What email did you send from? (you can PM me this if you prefer)
I visited the Buddyboss demo but it does not show how standard Blog post…
Here is a sample blog post:
http://www.buddyboss.com/demo/buddyboss/an-argument-for-simplicity/Front-end posting…
We are going to build a plugin for front-end blog posting. In general we prefer to put big features in plugins rather than themes, so they can work with any theme. Then we style that functionality in our themes so it looks really nice.
Do the Buddyboss people frequent this forum ? If they do and answered such queries it would be a good sign indeed.
I check out buddypress.org forums pretty frequently and answer questions 🙂
I found that most buddypress responsive themes are based on bootstrap – and since rtmedia loads a lot of bootstrap, and font awesome stuff, things would break when I put them together..
Agreed, bootstrap bloats stuff and causes problems. BuddyBoss themes (current and future) are just CSS and media queries. We’re not using bootstrap.

ParticipantI tried BP Default Data and it wouldn’t do forum data. But now that I may have forum data, I’ll try it again. The plugin seemed really unfinished.
P.S. Dear bbPress, please let me fix the topic tags in this topic. I never chose a hyphen in “demo-data” and I never capitalized Test Data. You did that crap on your own and now you won’t let me fix it. What the heck.

Participant@modemlooper The only problem is i am updating the content with the Post ID and thumbnail of the post for activity prior to submitting it, is there any other way of doing is ?
add_action('bp_activity_before_save', 'rewards_activity_content', 3); add_action('publish_rewards', 'groups_rewards_activity',4,1); /* Filter for content for post type reward before saved to database */ function rewards_activity_content($activity){ global $post; global $bp; if ($post->post_type == 'rewards') { $activity_id = (int) $activity->id; $post_id = (int) $activity->secondary_item_id; $user_id = (int) $activity->user_id; $post_type = get_post_type( $post_id ); $thumbnail = get_the_post_thumbnail($post_id); $post_permalink = get_permalink($post_id); $title = get_the_title($post_id); $activity_content = "<div class='post-id'>The post ID : {$post_id}</div>\n"; $activity_content .= "<div class='thumbnail'>{$thumbnail}</div>\n"; $activity->content = $activity_content; $group_id = (int) BP_Groups_Group::group_exists($field_group[0]); //working :) $bp->groups->current_group = groups_get_group( array( 'group_id' => $group_id ) ); $groups_activity_action = sprintf( __( '%1$s posted a reward %2$s in the group %3$s', 'buddypress'), bp_core_get_userlink( $user_id ),'<a href="' . $post_permalink . Thank you for your reply, though I am not quite understanding.
You linked forum mentions to insert the “define” commands into the wp-config.php file. It does ot mention where exactly to insert the settings. I played around with it though nothing happened.
bp_core_remove_nav_item() would go where? Do I add it as a general function?January 10, 2015 at 1:49 am #231715In reply to: How To: change navigation?

ModeratorHi @eversatile
I have been trying to find the file location of the profile and group navigation menus, with no luck
There isn’t a template file which you can change if that’s what you mean, but…
I would like to change “forums” to “discuss” and remove the “members” from groups menu, etc
You can customise slugs quite easily. See the Customizable Slugs in BuddyPress article.
bp_core_remove_nav_item()will let you remove nav items from the navigation. There is alsobp_core_remove_subnav_item()for removing sub nav items.January 10, 2015 at 1:02 am #231710In reply to: Sidebar Pushed to Bottom

ModeratorTry searching for bp_core_redirect here in the forums. The topic has come up many times in the past. You just add your redirect function to your theme’s functions.php file, making sure you’ve hooked it to the init action

ModeratorIf you need something done immediately then feel free to check out the BP Jobs Forum where you can hire the skills of a developer. Alternatively, BuddyPress has lots of great stuff in the pipeline (coded by volunteer developers) so if you wait for it you’ll get all that for free.
Hopefully this info helps you.

ModeratorWhen in doubt, back up your database! You’ve probably heard that lots of times but in situations like this where the outcome is uncertain, it is definitely worth being prudent.
searched a bit and apparently, the word on the forum-street is: there is no way to delete PM except through the DB. is that still true?
Are you referring to an individual private message, or a whole thread? There should definitely be a way to delete an entire thread via the front-end. It will depend on your theme but by default, there should be a delete button available.

ParticipantThanks Henry! I had found a couple of plugins last week and one that does everything that I want (HTML, batch, etc.) but, the problem you have to import the contacts into the plugin. How do I export my contacts out of buddypress and then back in to the plug in. Is there a way to do this? I posted on buddypress because no one had responded in the last 5 days to the question I posted on the plugin’s forum. Thanks for your help!

ParticipantHi style960, do you know how to contact the Buddyboss people for pre-sales queries? They seem to have no open forum for this and probably has closed the Q-A page in FAQ.
I submitted some queries via their contact form – and got no reply from them – its 4 days. But the Rtcamp guys seem to be prompt at least in this respect- they reply very fast.
I will be interested in such a theme if they can solve the “Like” problem of WP-BP. I visited the Buddyboss demo but it does not show how standard Blog post or Gallery blog posts of a standard WP 4.1 would look – blog post submission pages are missing too.
Do the Buddyboss people frequent this forum ? If they do and answered such queries it would be a good sign indeed.
