    Hello,

    The site to troubleshoot is: planetanim.fr

    I have had an error for a long time and I apologize if it has already been exposed and corrected. And I apologize for my bad English.

    I use buddyPress and bbPress for forums. For private forums, the bbP Private Groups plugin manages them for many reasons.

    The activity of private forums is displayed in BuddyPress activity streams whether users are connected or not, whether they are members of private forums or not. And it’s problematic. I even had to wait until I could solve the problem to suspend the display of the activity stream. Which is a shame.

    If you have an idea, please share it with me.

    Hi @mercime
    Thank you very much for getting back to me. And yes I will follow your advice, However, I have been on the Envato premium theme’s forums site and looked for a link on there to message them on this matter but could not find anywhere on that site toomessage them. Could you maybe help me with a link to do just that? otherwise, I have no idea where to find that.
    Thank you again for your help so far.

    >>does BuddyPress or 3rd parties design additional plugins as such that can be successfully attached to this theme

    Hi @balanz,
    The best place to ask is at the premium theme’s forums as we do not have access to the paid theme. Based on what you need, looks more like you need to code a custom plugin that is compatible with both BuddyPress and your premium theme, or hire a developer to do so.

    Hi there,

    I am trying to show forum description on group activity page.
    I did the above on the forum page using bbp_get_forum_content();
    But the above function is not working on the group activity page.
    Is there any way to do that?

    Thanks

    Hi @bwnvideo You can do that at the official WordPress jobs board at https://jobs.wordpress.net/post-a-job/

    Both it would be easier if you created your own threads to receive support.

    @closedloopers
    that really depends on whether any other plugins you use have been kept up to date and what custom code you have. BuddyPress iteself should be upgradeable from older versions by installing each of the major releases until you are up to date, they are available at the bottom of https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/advanced/
    Remember and take a backup and test along the way.

    @smiranda
    unfortunately unless you tell us what issues and glitches you are facing nobody on these forums will be able to provide much help. Feel free to create a new thread with more information and hopefully someone will be able to help out.

    Hi, these support forums are for the main buddypress plugin, the plugin you are referring to appears to be developed by someone else.

    I have precisely the same problem on my website. Running bbPress 2.6.4 and BuddyPress 5.1.2, with customizr theme 4.2.0 (site: https://www.ethicalretinue.com/).

    Issue was also reported at the bbpress forums: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-notifications-not-clearing-up/ There’s a fix suggested there, which unfortunately does not work for me.

    The problem is in the theme.
    It is calling a function that was removed in BP 3.0
    Call to undefined function bp_is_user_forums() in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/moview/members/single/home.php
    You should contact the theme authors about this obvious issue with their theme.

    I have a forum created with buddypress. When I press register link i got a pop up window “sign in for me site domain and I must supply a username and a password. I suppose this is due to the fact that my registration form tries to access a script on my wp-admin folder:
    …… wp-admin/js/password-strength-meter.min.js?ver=5.3.2
    How to avoid this?

    Is there an option to archive sub forums, topics and replies in buddypress? Say posts older than three months and done automatically?
    Many thanks in advance…

    I recently have had a lot of my passwords compromised. I’m trying to get rid of my account here or change my password here on Buddypress.org. I click my profile and it says I don’t have access to it.

    Unfortunately since there’s no way to contact support about my ACCOUNT here, I guess I have to just post it here in the forums :-/ Can someone contact me and help me delete my buddypress.org account??

    function my_bp_activities_include_activity_types( $retval ) {
    // only allow the following activity types to be shown
        $retval['action'] = array(
          'activity_update',
            //'activity_comment',
            'new_blog_post',
            //'new_blog_comment',
            //'friendship_created',
            //'created_group',
        );

        return $retval;
    }
    add_filter( 'bp_after_has_activities_parse_args', 'my_bp_activities_include_activity_types' );

    This is what is suggested around the forums, but as soon as this is added, the filter by options stop working.

    Same goes for bp_after_has_activities_parse_args when setting parameters for followers/freinds only. Is there something missing?

    You will need to hack the email subscription plugin and add some code to BCC the email to the address in that custom field.

    It is very unlikely that anyone on these forums can or would provide that code.

    Hi, BuddyPress uses bbpress for it’s forums so you may have more luck on their forums but when I’m logged in on my sites I can select Edit and then change which forum the topic is assigned to.

    I hope this helps.

    #310176

    Testing to see if this forum will register a plain text reply, since my last replies of how to force HTML didn’t post.

    Hi,
    Those buttons don’t look like they are related to BuddyPress specifically, is this on the forums? If so buddypress uses bbpress so you may have more luck on their support forums https://bbpress.org/forums/

    I have this problem, that the buttons that you can see marked on this photo : https://1ce.org/1#rk0FvUpzU

    Please use English on these forums.

    You can overload templates in your theme or child-theme.
    The location of the templates to be used for overloads depends on which template pack you are using.

    In wp-admin, go to Settings > BuddyPress > Options and note the selection re Template Pack.

    If is BuddyPress Legacy, then the templates are here:
    \wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\

    Otherwise they are here:
    \wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-templates\bp-nouveau\

    I want to reward contribution to my website community by promoting the member profiles of those who contribute to the site. I want anyone who comments on a post or in a forum to move to the top of the member directory.
    I don’t want users to be able to just login and have their profile moved to the top, I want to encourage interaction.
    Anyone know how to do this?

    My bad, turns out there’s a “Super Moderator” option I accidentally had checked in Settings >> Forums. Unchecking that and saving fixed the issue.
