Moderatorimo – it’s not about cache, it’s about the available memory on your server and various mysql settings. You don’t want to cache forum calls anyways.
BP 1.7 is addressing some of its’ long queries.
Perhaps BB is also interested – you should post your question and research on https://bbpress.org/forums/October 24, 2012 at 11:25 am #143895@mercime
Participant@chiangmai please post at plugin’s forum at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/

ModeratorThere is no existing plugin, afaik.
You’ll need to write some custom code or hire somebody to do that:

Participant@johnjamesjacoby i am running the latest version of BuddyPress and bbPress together (running bbPress as site-wide forums integrated with BuddyPress). I would like to add any custom xprofile BuddyPress fields that I created underneath the avatar of a user in the forums.
The actual code that writes out the replies loop is inside the “loop-single-reply.php” file of the bbPress plugin. But how do I connect to BuddyPress and display any xprofile fields that I want though?

ParticipantAlso, search through the forum for the activation email problem. It’s common and often times is related to your hosting provider or MX settings.

ParticipantWell that’s the way to do it, no need to re-state you ‘wanna show’ it on user profile we got that bit, what did you do wrong then? how about adding a little detail like code you tried , template you tried it in, if you come to forums for help you must be prepared to provide a little bit of information so people can actually help you.
Oh and you did try echoing the function didn’t you?

ParticipantThis SITE is such a confusing site. Become a buddy freak since mars and this site I cant understand. Where Am I? In a group or in a forum? In a private activity? When can I search for What?
Searching doesnt work and everything is SOO Old.
And Google points here all the time.
Just finding reply button isnt easy.
Bad for the wonderful Buddypress WordPress solution.October 21, 2012 at 2:16 pm #1437669087877
Inactive@raphadko
Groups only matter in forums and if you choose site wide forums you can get rid of groups all together. That has nothing to do with private message one on one conversations. This issue still seems to be lacking a bit of logic. A PM only goes to the person you send it to anyway so essentially it is a one on one conversation. Not enabling friendships means you really cant use any of the great friendship based plugins like @r-a-y ‘s Private Messages For Friends Only, or my own plugin BP FriendPress which shows a facebook like activity stream that is dependent on friendship.
Taking friendships out of the equation is only going to limit what you can control in the long run so I personally would suggest reconsidering your options.October 21, 2012 at 10:12 am #143761In reply to: My Spam Success Story

ParticipantIt’s 24 hours later, 48 hours total, and I’ve had one spam comment show up and it was in the spam folder, not on the site. No registrations, groups or forum spam at all. So if you’re having spam issues I highly recommend this.

Participant@djpaul so sorry, you are right. I am using group email subscription – I was convinced it was core functionality (it feels like it should be). It’s @boonebgorges and @dwenaus plugin, I’ll see if I can find out more from them on their own support forum.

ParticipantThere’s no import plugin that I know of that’s out in the market. You’d need to code the script yourself or hire a developer to do so https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-jobs-board/forum/ and/or http://jobs.wordpress.net/

ParticipantI am having the same problem and it started after upgrading to BP 1.6.1. I am using the theme BuddyCorporate and the latest full release of WP. It is set up as a multi-user site but all was working fine until the upgrade! Also, I am getting a blank page on selecting a group forum, although the site wide forums are working fine.

@mercime
Participant@amy-joy Two things:
1. Go to Settings > Forums and check/add that the path to your existing bb-config.php file is correct
and/or
2. Download a copies of WordPress and BuddyPress to your hard drive and re-upload WP and BP folders manually i.e., via FTP/cpanel/file manager/etc.October 19, 2012 at 10:06 am #143694In reply to: how can i mark a post as essence in group forum?

KeymasterI suppose you could build a feature like this, but there’s nothing out of the box.
October 19, 2012 at 9:52 am #143689In reply to: Notification emails not sending
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterI still can’t find anywhere that BuddyPress sends emails when something happens in the forums (unless another plugin is providing this feature for you). Best I can find is if someone replies to an Activity item created by someone posting on the forum.
