In reply to: Spacing issue on all BP pages
@mercime
ParticipantSorry I wasn’t clear. Near the bottom of the webpage I linked to above, is the link to the solution/instructions. Here’s the link to fixing the alignment of the BP template pack with the premium iFeature https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddy-press-on-other-themes/

Participant== it “remembers” the unwanted changes i first did and now i want to disappear. ==
– What unwanted changes?
– Do you have a bp-custom.php file in your plugins directory? Did you back up and delete that?
– Do you have bb-config.php file in the root of your WP installation (where you’ll find the wp-config.php file)? Did you also backup and delete that as well?See the xx_bb_xx (BP group forums) and xx_bp_xx (
) in single and WP multisite DB’s at the bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/3/
– backup your database and delete tablesApril 5, 2012 at 1:30 am #132440In reply to: BuddyPress, Multisite, and bbPress Confusion
@mercime
Participant== So is site wide forums installed or is this a bug? How do I uninstall site wide forums? ==
The site wide forums is your bbPress plugin installation. They are one and the same.
== I thought site wide forums would allow my main site to have forums, is this assumption incorrect? Do I need to install bbPress on my main site? ==
If you have BuddyPress installed in main site, you just need to add the link to your bbPress plugin page to your menu. Did you already configure your bbPress plugin forum slug?
Please read this Codex article about the two kinds of bbPress forums we can choose use with BuddyPress and how to install one or both forums. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
April 5, 2012 at 1:24 am #132439@mercime
ParticipantWhen you use both Group Forums and Sitewide Forums, only one of them can use “forums” as slug/page-name, the other must use a different page name/slug. Read https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/

ParticipantOr, you might just need to add a shortcode `[bbp-forum-index] ` or one or combo of shortcode/s listed at https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-shortcodes

KeymasterIf you want to use it in a theme, try putting it in a function wrapper and then calling that function in your template. In functions.php:
`function bbg_forum_pag() {
global $forum_template;$per_page = 5;
$total_posts = $forum_template->topic->topic_posts;$pag_links = paginate_links( array(
‘base’ => add_query_arg( array( ‘topic_page’ => ‘%#%’, ‘num’ => (int) $per_page ), bp_get_the_topic_permalink() ),
‘format’ => ”,
‘total’ => ceil( (int) $total_posts / (int) $per_page ),
‘mid_size’ => 1
) );
echo $pag_links;
}`Then in your template:

MemberP.S. If I use the default theme it still doesn’t post a topic, but I get a slightly different warning, which says:
“Please pick the group forum where you would like to post this topic.”

MemberHello Mr Gibbs,
Thanks for the quick response. I have verfied the dbname, username etc in bb-config and wp-config and they match to the correct settings. Could this be to do with some permission settings as it works fine with admin user? Is there any way to set debug log to get further details on the exception?
Thanks again

KeymasterHi again.
Compare /bb-config.php and /wp-config.php files; usually they are in the root of your web directory. Do the database name, username, password etc in bb-config match wp-config? If not, update bb-config.php to match wp-config. (Then try this group re-enable toggle again).

MemberCan anyone help with this? I don’t know enough on how to code to do this myself, but I can look into tweaking code if I know where to look.
I started thinking about this more an think it’ll be easier to make the groups private, but to make the “Activity Home” and “Members Listing” public because I don’t want people to be able to just join any public group.
It should be something simple like (excuse my pseduocode):
if member = Not member of group
then show Activity Home and Group Members Listelse show everything

MemberOkay, this video answered my question: http://labsecrets.com/2012/01/23/buddypress-and-bbpress-forums-made-easy/
Turns out I had to change the slugs and a few settings. That opened up another can of worms, but this problem, at least, is SOLVED!
April 3, 2012 at 3:36 pm #132345In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?
@mercime
Participant@allentan I have not used BP Album, but I am fairly sure that the developers there would have that covered. You can ask in their forums. Good luck.
April 3, 2012 at 8:36 am #132330In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?
@mercime
ParticipantYes it is. And if you need support for BP Album/Media, you can post in their forums here at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/
April 3, 2012 at 6:29 am #132325In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?
@mercime
Participant== I managed to get it to work now… I do the hard way, reset everything and start all over under a new folder /dev. Its working ==
Glad you resolved the issue.
== But alignment is Out a Little. http://learningdigitalphotography.net/dev/register/ ==
You’d need to realign your registration/register.php file again per our compatibility codes here
== I wanted to add this plugin to allow sharing of photo…buddypress-easy-albums-photos-video-and-music ==
Sorry I have never used this plugin. Be aware that per its WP Plugins page, it has not been updated for a while and that your images and other media assets will have to be stored in their server, not in your server.
There are two media plugins compatible with BuddyPress
– BP Album/Media – free
– BP Gallery – premiumApril 3, 2012 at 3:22 am #132317In reply to: I can’t access forums or groups

April 3, 2012 at 3:01 am #132313In reply to: I can’t access forums or groups
@mercime
ParticipantBackup your bb-config.php in computer hard drive. The information which should be the same with your wp-config.php is the name of the database, username, password and hostname.
e.g. if in your wp-config.php, you have
`/** The name of the database for WordPress */
define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘NM_rx001’);`
then in you bb-config.php, you should have
`/** The name of the database for bbPress */
define( ‘BBDB_NAME’, ‘NM_rx001’ );`same goes for the username, password and hostname. In other words, do not change BBDB_NAME to DB_NAME
EDIT – did not see your 3 most recent posts while I was writing info above.
But wait, you posted
`bb file has
‘BBDB_NAME’, ‘faixxx?);
wp file has
‘DB_NAME’, ‘FAIHxxx?);`but faitxxx is not the same as FAIHTxxx Do not post DB info here. You’re compromising your installation.
