ParticipantMissed it previously.,I see it now. BP components must be parent page levels in “Page Attributes” at this time. If you want to “show” that Members and Group Pages are under Forums, the use custom menu and position the Members and Group Pages under Forums

I’m using Huddle (http://themeforest.net/item/huddle-wordpress-buddypress-community-theme/835549) but I’ve asked on the forums and the answer was:
“This was the default functionality from BuddyPress original theme, and we kept this.
We don’t plan to do this soon, but if this functionality will be added we will announce this on forum”February 24, 2012 at 5:13 pm #130403In reply to: Sitewide Forum Help

MemberThanks for the update Boone. Is there a rough ETA on BP 1.6? The reason I ask is I’m working on a site that is due soon, and I’m really fumbling with forums right now.
Also- still can’t create forum topics in groups forums OR sitewide. Any suggestions?
Thanks again

KeymasterRight now, BP is transitioning between an old version of bbPress (1.x) to the newest version (2.x), which is totally rewritten. The implementation of Sitewide Forums in BP 1.5 uses bbPress 2.x, while group forums use 1.x. (Complicated, I know
) The appearance and integration of sitewide forums will be much improved in BP 1.6, where we’ll have written the code necessary for bbPress 2.x to replace all forums in BP.In the meantime, I suggest only using *either* Sitewide Forums or Group Forums. You could probably do some work to hack them together in a more seamless way, but much of the work will be done for you in the next major BP release.

MemberI’m anxious to hear a response on this as well. I used bbpress for forums initially, but using that with BuddyPress it’s ugly as sin and there isn’t a forums directory page to display all the active forums (otherwise it did work). The interface for the forums inside BuddyPress looks very nice, but from sitewide forums, I couldn’t actually create any forums.
Options currently are:
a forum that works but is awful looking (bbpress)
a forum that looks nice but isn’t really working; at least ‘out of the box’ (BuddyPress)February 24, 2012 at 11:17 am #130375In reply to: Error on Creating a Group

ParticipantI ran again the bp compatibilty process, but worst things happen,, the pages of buddy press pages are blank.
that’s why, I put back the folders,.. I’m just curious,, you created a Default Theme Group right? so I tried to post a topic and it works, but when I attempted to post a topic on the group that I created which is the “students” I can’t post a topic over there and always give me an error “This group does not have a forum setup yet.” where can I set it up?still I can’t create group using my theme, I just create one using the plugin Buddy Press group Organizer..

ParticipantThis seems to be similar to the problem reported here https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/members-directory-entries-disappear-using-drop-down-sorter-and-next-page-buttons/
He was using an unusual theme, and never reported back on whether that was the problem. For me, that’s not it.

Delete bb-config.php file that was generated at root of your WP installation as well.

MemberIn the sitewide forums(bbpress) configuration there is an item that is checked by default to prefix /forum/ to permalinks. This changed my permalink to /forum/forums/forum_name which broke the links. I unchecked this which made my permalink the normal /forums/forum-name and fixed the blank page issue for me.

ParticipantSo you unchecked the forum configuration in BuddyPress, correct? And then you placed forum in the permalinks settings for all of WordPress? Or is this during the BuddyPress install?
I ended up getting rid of, or trying to anyways, site-wide forums. What if I want to use group forums – am I able to still do this?
I appreciate the help. I’ve been desperately searching for an answer for this for days.

MemberI had this same issue with buddypress+sitewide forums. I resolved by unchecking the box in forum configuration that added /forum/ prefix to permalinks. The setting recommends to be checked, but unchecked fixed my white pages issue.

ParticipantThanks for the reply!

So I did that… made the copy of the header and sidebar, and inserted those codes to the ends of them. Now it sort of scrunched everything inside of a box without the sidebar being on the right anymore… visit http://www.critterhub.com/forums/groups/ to see what I am talking about.
Did I do something wrong? Thanks!

ParticipantLooking over your theme, you will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your Aggregate theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive. The changes we’ll be making are using the default layout (right sidebar) for the Aggregate theme.

After you changed the slugs in bbPress settings page, did you change the slug/name of your bbPress forums in your custom menu.

MemberWhen logged in on the left sidebar there are various links, such as activity, members, groups, and forums. When I click that forums link it goes to the forums directory page ex: site.com/forums. I would like that to go to the site-wide forum which is site.com/forums/forums/kudos-forum.
I have tried changing the forums slug in the bbpress settings to kudos, but than says page not found when I click the link in the nav bar.
you can look at the site (it is not finished) http://www.kudosbuzz.com
