    This may not be a supported type of usernames for wpmu. Did you check wpmu forums as well?

    Something you must read before posting the forum.

    socialpreneur: have tried it manually in all combinations as well (see above). really clueless, want to avoid to start with a fresh system because I would have to import all users, groups, forums and whatnot.

    socialpreneur i know forum rules… ;-)

    but it’s very difficult to explain clearly a problem in foreign language.

    I’m french, désolé !

    Dont duplicate…

    Dont bump…

    What else as reformulating a question ?

    Are your datas in the new tables named wp_bb_xxxx ?

    Is one of the DEFINE in bb_config correctly set to db name=wp_bb_ ?

    Is the bb_config at the site root ?

    Possible you have a “cookie salad” in your browser…

    First, try to rename the old forum folder (before deleting it…)

    Deactivate and reactivate the forum in the bp settings.

    Be sure you installed the “new” forum without de old bb_config in the new location. Let the system work to make a new one.

    You will see than in the bb_config that the tables of your new forum are called wp_bb_xxx

    These tables are probably empty at the end of such a acrobatic update.

    If it is the case, you have to copy the old bb_tables content into the new wp_bb_tables. Normally your old forum content is now showing in the new install.

    And sorry for my english.

    That function is provided by wpmu, not buddypress. Please post your questions on wpmu forum.

    um…my install doesn’t have such errors. I only upgraded from 1.0.3 to 1.1 without any problems including forum setup.

    I’m having the same problem. When I click the forums button in BuddyPress, I get an error 404 page. I’ve tried reinstalling. BuddyPress and the BBPress integration.

    Thank you.

    That does not bother me if it does not show up on the directory. If there is a way, if you have the right permissions, it would show up in the directory, but it is not necessary.

    I will debug this. Only forum posts on public groups will show on the directory.

    I’m having the same error. I can attest to the fact that none of these are because of 3rd party. I have a brand new Buddypress, fully update WordPress Mu, and Bbpress installed at the /forum directory. It will not let me switch from a different BPtheme other than the Network Parent Theme, which is one of the two themes bundled with Buddypress. The error comes regardless of which WP theme I am using – I am getting the exact same result. By commenting out lines 428-456 in the bx-profile-deprecated.php file, I can get a working sign in form, but users have to put in their own profile information later. Has there been any to get a permanent fix here?

    bbpress is in wpcontent/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums. It was installed with buddypress.

    I’ve tried both the ‘Set up a new bbPress installation’ and ‘Use an existing bbPress installation’ option and both tell me the installation was successful but neither works. The bb-config.php file is in the root directory where it should be.

    Could the problem be with the

    ‘BB_AUTH_KEY’,

    ‘BB_SECURE_AUTH_KEY’,

    ‘BB_LOGGED_IN_KEY’,

    ‘BB_NONCE_KEY’,

    definitions?

    This is not a BuddyPress related question and should be posted on wpmu forums.

    Site Admin > Blogs > enable bp theme only to admin … DONE.

    DO NOT make duplicated posts.

    https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/where-are-the-avatars-1

    If you have mistakenly made two topics, make a note to ask other members not to respond and direct them to right place.

    Ah, here I am =)

    I have (finally) upgraded to BuddyPress 1.1 on my test site (just the forums working in one click is just worth every minute of it!!). I have set aside (branched) the old version of bp-events (0.6) for people still running bp 1.0.3 (for whatever reason), and from now on, the trunk version on my site (and WordPress plugins) will solely work on BP 1.1 and beyond. Marius has put in a *ton* of work rewriting most of the code to keep up with the major changes to BP from 1.0.3 to 1.1. For the next little while, I will mirror the changes made to the trunk listed on this thread to the one on my site until we merge the two and go forward on one version (when I have figured out how to do this…)

    I am currently reworking the calendar view to have *lots* of AJAX “refreshments”…

    Didn’t test it myself, but in theory it should be. :D

    So easy ?

    thanks a lot JJJ

    #53474

    Make a file called “home.php” in your “bp-default” directory.

    Inside that file, copy and paste the contents of “bp-sn-parent/directories/forums/index.php”

    Hey, I have been having the same problem! I found a partial solution to this in a previous post, but it only makes certain specified ‘slugs’ private, and not the entire site. Is there anyway we can modify this code to make it privatize the whole site?

    the code is located in bp-custom.php in the mu-plugins folder.

    //this makes directories private

    function oci_restrict_access(){
    global $bp, $bp_unfiltered_uri;

    if (!is_user_logged_in() &&
    (BP_MEMBERS_SLUG == $bp_unfiltered_uri[0] ||
    BP_FORUMS_SLUG == $bp->current_component ||
    BP_GROUPS_SLUG == $bp->current_component ||
    BP_HOME_BLOG_SLUG == $bp->current_component)){

    bp_core_redirect( get_option('home') . "/wp-login.php" );
    }
    }
    add_action( 'wp', 'oci_restrict_access', 3 );

    any help would be great!

    I have the same problem with 1.1. Only the blog and Forum links seem to work. I have other pre 1.1 installs that work fine.

    I meant that it’s a plugin insofar as I dropped it into “/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums”.

    As I said everything’s the latest version so:

    WPMU – 2.8.4

    BP – 1.1

    bb – latest build from SVN

    As for the theme, even if I wasn’t supposed to be using it, I was trying to change it. Problem is, it won’t change now.

    @onethousandseas

    1.1 shouldn’t require extra plugin to integrate bbpress. You should write about your software versions when you ask for help on this forum. And for theme, it sounds like you are using bp-sn-parent which shouldn’t be used directly. Please read sticky posts about new theme architecture and 1.1 help.
