ParticipantThis stuff works just fine people. Do you have that plugin in my-plugins as well as bb-plugins? It’s trying to run twice for some reason.

ParticipantSo is there going to be a version that works with the current build of BP?
Is there any way to get it to work in the meantime?

ParticipantIs it possible to share the LogIn/SignOn between 2 installations of WPMU/Buddypress?
In my case it wouldn’t be a problem if the websites (language1/language2) run each on a seperate installation of WPMU/Buddypress, because i want a strict seperation of the content regarding to its language (webiste1 = language1 = only content written in language1 / website2 = language 2 = only content written in language2).
The only concern that holds me back from this type of multi language setup is the that i want my user to be able to switch between the language1-website and language2-website with only one Login. So if the user is logged in on language1.website.com he should be able to switch to language2.website.com without any additional login (similar to the WPMU/MediaWiKi plugin > https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2912).

Participantwhen I change the theme to the church theme that I am using on wpmu it does not work!
BuddyPress themes are special cases of WordPress themes. They have additional functions and some unique code that make them work in BP. So, you cannot take any WP theme and substitute it for a BuddyPress theme.
If you wish to use something other than one of the Standard BP themes, then you need to pick an already available custom BP theme, customize a WP theme to make it work in BP, or design your own BP custom theme from scratch. You can search the BP forums for advice on customizing themes to work in BP.

ParticipantIf you mean the buddybar (grey) at the top of the page, you can change it by going into:
wp-content>plugins>buddypress>bp-core>bp-core-adminbar.php
and
wp-content>plugins>buddypress>bp-core>css>admin-bar.css
If you want to add menus to the login bar, you’re better off setting up a bp-custom.php, this thread will have details on what to do (read thru the whole thread):

ParticipantI’m having the same problem, but mine seems to be related only to the “register” page.
http://www.elsegundo.net/register
I can’t let anyone register. What is the difference between /wp-signup.php and /register?
I can’t get either to work. I did a clean install on another test domain into a new database and it won’t let me signup anyone either. I get blank screens back with no errors.

ParticipantThere was an issue with new blog / user signup that I solved (looks like activation site wide and 2.7.X wpmu has a problem)
I used the hacked version of plug in commander
https://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/10364#post-62414
and now the new users are presented with the all in one activation link once they log in to admin area.

ParticipantNirok: If I goto your site http://spoodle.co.nz/3/ and I click the ‘Forum’ link, that link dosen’t come up as “selected / highlighted” like the other links.
We still need a solution on how to make it highlight when the link is active, just as when you click into https://buddypress.org/forums/.

ParticipantI just added simple buttons via the header.php. This needs to be changed for both the homepage template and the user template header.php …
All I added was extra
example:
<li <?php if ( bp_is_page( 'home' ) ) {?> class="selected"<?php } ?>><a>" title="<?php _e( 'Home', 'buddypress' ) ?>"><?php _e( 'Home', 'buddypress' ) ?></a></li><br /> <li <?php if ( bp_is_page( 'forum' ) ) {?> class="selected"<?php } ?>><a href="http://spoodle.co.nz/3/message/">Forum</a>this comes out as: Home | Forum
To limit database queries you could simplify the navigation to just using simple code:
<ul <li><a href="http://spoodle.co.nz/3/">Home</a></li><br /> <li><a href="http://spoodle.co.nz/3/Blog/">Blog</a></li><br /> </ul>which gives you: Home | Blog
etc etc anyway thats what i have done i’m sure you could make some complex buttons by playing around…

ParticipantYes, I believe bbPress is already improving quite rapidly; while it has nowhere near as many features as vB, my instinct is that the combo of BuddyPress + bbPress is actually more useful overall, especially when you consider how the forums are spread out among groups, giving a more intuitive and “lighter” feel.
bbPress 1.0 should be released with the next week or so (it is currently on RC1) and it’s development has been given a boost by the resources Automattic are pouring into their new commercial service, TalkPress.com.
Upcoming bbPress improvements include easier integration with WP and MU, which will be a huge relief. If the massive WordPress community starts to swing behind bbPress, we can expect some pretty good plugins to emerge, whereas I believe vB’s community of voluntary plugin developers has already started to hemorrhage. Certainly, the fact that they are closing all threads mentioning BuddyPress suggests they feel threatened by it.

InactiveOK this is something stupid I tried…
I deleted
<?php bp_group_leave_confirm_link() ?>on leave-group-confirm.php file (lines 27 and 28) and this way the leave group page displays right but (again the but! ha…!) links Yes, I’d like to leave this group and and No, I’ll stay! don’t work.So the problem has to be in that part, hasn’t it?
edit: “The inability to accept/reject membership requests and the “Are you sure you want to do this?” error message are related to wp security issues. wpmu 2.7.1 uses things called ‘nonces’ that ensure that the user who got the form actually submitted it back.”
Has this “leave a group” something to do with these ‘nonces’? I’m guessing it does, because URL-line includes “leave-group?_wpnonce”…

InactiveI don’t know exactly what to look for in header… but (I obviously like the word but here
) noticed when comparing testbp.org’s html source and mine that in header I have different code on line 11:Mine is:
<link rel='stylesheet' href='http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-blogs/css/widget-blogs.css?ver=2.7.1' type='text/css' media='' />and testbp.org’s is:
<link rel='stylesheet' href='http://testbp.org/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-activity/css/widget-activity.css?ver=2.7.1' type='text/css' media='' />Meaning that instead of bp-activity I have bp-blogs…
Everything else seems to be similar. Is this a problem and why is my code different from tesbp.org’s?? (I’m using BP’s default theme now, before fixing my own theme.) I have changed nothing in BP’s default theme.

ParticipantHaving the same problem with leaving the group as Sugarmindy (can only leave group on ‘http://domain.com/groups’ page; the other method I’m getting blank page).
Sugarmindy: as for inviting friends and other JavaScript related problems, try checking if you don’t have declaration of jquery.js file doubled in header – so if other plugins aren’t interfering through wp_head()

InactiveOK, so the problem might be in the theme?
I have own theme and find out some minor problems there but when using bp 1.0 default theme (BuddyPress Default Member Theme (1.0)), I still have the same problems.
The weirdest problem is leaving the group. When logged in and on the Groups Directory/Groups Listing page, it is no problem to leave a group, but when I try to leave a group on group’s own page (e.g. http://domain.com/groups/testgroup ) by clicking the Leave Group -button, I get problem #3 from my 1st post (…This page (leave a group) doesn’t have a wp-admin-bar and footer at all! Other pages have. I only get messages: “Confirm Leave Group” and “Are you sure you want to leave this group?” but there’s no options “Yes, I’d like to leave this group.” and “No, I’ll stay!”. ….)

ParticipantTo Uninstall bbPress
1. Delete bb-config.php from your forums directory.
2. Log into your database and drop the tables that begin with bb_ (assuming you left bb_ as your forum prefix)
To install it again, simply go to the same page you used to install it before. Run through your installation and your bb-config.php as well as the bb_ tables will be created again.

ParticipantSame issue as a few others in this thread—
I’m using WPMU 2.7.1, BuddyPress 1.0, and bbPress 1.0-Alpha-6. Followed all install instructions, and voila! Logins are synchronized. Logging in to WPMU automagically logs me in to bbPress, and vice versa.
HOWEVER…
WHen I set up a new group within WPMU/BuddyPress, I *still* get the highly annoying “Attention Site Admin: Group forums require the correct setup and configuration of a bbPress installation.â€
I was using my admin user as the KeyMaster, also created another user (forumbridge) and tried setting him as the keymaster. No dice. Can’t get the group forums to grok–which was the entire point of this exercise.
Any suggestions?
