Hi Forum
I need to offer each user a document that is unique to them and can only be accessed by them.
Is BuddyPress a neat solution?
Thanks
With bbPress you can create two types of a forum in a BuddyPress context .
Hi & thanks a lot for your feedback @user4forum
Itโs funny youโre talking about BP Reply by email, as Iโve contributed for comment reply by email for WordPress a while ago and it stayed in the void! See https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52283
I guess we could use some code of it for BuddyPress ๐
.
About BuddyDrive and Rendez-vous, I was their first contributor so I know them pretty well ๐. Some ideas I had when building BuddyDrive came back lately while working on BP Attachments.
More than being in BP Core, I believe users are expecting plugins to be maintained and we think moving them to BP Core will make this goal satisfied. Iโm more interested in a BP Core restricted to the minimum and every other optional components to be packaged into BP Addons we can install and activate separately.
Hello,
We’ve set up a forum with moderation on all new users on our website. We would now want to change the email recipient of the notification that is sent to all admins when someone ask to register to the forums. Is it possible to setup only one email address for this?
Can someone help us on how to do so? We did not find any way to change this in the emails settings.
Maybe we need to add a code snippet in our child theme’s functions.php file?
Please advise.
Thank you,
Francis
Just one final note: It turns out there is a known bbPress bug for this, and future developments will all be on the bbPress thread, not here. So watch this thread:
bbP subscription control in the BP profile?
Just in case anybody is still following this thread ๐
I had a little time recently to look at this again, and I got some info from the folks at BuddyDev, that this is actually a bbPress thing:
[x] icon to delete subscriptions
I haven’t yet tried the fix Brajesh suggested.
I’m asking for more info on the bbPress forum:
bbP subscription control in the BP profile?
I am too is experiencing error with the search forum… i was planning to build a forum page on my website https://luxebet88.info/. Hope someone can help.

Hello,
We’re experiencing issues with the search form in the forums of our Buddypress website. We built the forum page using Elementor and BuddyBuilder plugins.
When we type in a keyword, we dont see any results. Also, we’re not able to design the results page https://perinat.social/forums/rechercher/ with Elementor.
Can you help please?
Thanks,
BEV

These are the forums for BuddyPress, not BuddyBoss.
If you haven’t already found it, perhaps this will achieve the functionality you require: https://buddydev.com/support/forums/topic/restrict-activity-commenting-by-member-type/.

Hi Mike Witt,
A little bit more involved ….
Where to change BP Text for activity update
BP Maps for Members will provide a good starting point for the first item.
The other items you mention will require customization that goes well beyond the scope of these forums – iow. hiring an experienced BP developer.
Please use the bbPress forums.
> I am using buddyboss platform as plugin
Please contact BuddyBOSS.
These are the forums for BuddyPRESS.
Thanks, I have the same problem and try to post forum but didn’t reach.
It works like this:
add_filter('bp_get_activity_show_filters_options', 'my_buddypress_filter',10,2);
function mp_buddypress_filter($filters, $context) {
$filters['new_blog_post'] = 'Blog Posts';
$filters['new_blog_comment'] = 'Blog Comments';
$filters['bbp_topic_create'] = 'Forum Topics';
$filters['bbp_reply_create'] = 'Forum Replies';
return $filters;
}
How can I rename the activity filters? For instance, I want to rename “posts” to “blog posts” and “topics” to “forum topics.”
bbPress, and clearly posted on the wrong forum after figuring it out. Sorry
BuddyPress does not include forums.
Are you also using bbPress? If so, you should post on their support forums.
If you are using BuddyBOSS, which includes forums, you should contact them.
Hello. We are making a network/forum. We have a messenger where there is a choice of emoji, but on all other text fields there is no such button. Emoji definitely work when copied, but is there any way to add an emoji selector to all the required text fields? Several days of searching. My knowledge is not enough to quickly understand this issue. I ask you for help.
Yes, it works.
I have another question;
2 people have directed themselves, I have activated them, but these 2 people are not getting an Email on to confirm. I don’t see them as members of the Forum either.
What am I doing wrong ?
You’re using BuddyBoss.
You need to send your issue to them.
These are the forums for BuddyPress.
Thank you for your resonse shane but it does not work.
I might use the wrong words for the function…
I use it in the code snippet plugin but no luck.
Its definitely the get user role part as this part I have seen on many forum pages…
Is the word:”unset” the right one? Not “hide” or “remove”?
Hello @iantiu
As you use Yozuify together with BuddyPress, I think you can ask about this on the Youzify FB Community or on our WordPress support forum. ๐
Currently customising a WordPress site. Complete newbie, but progressing along. Installed BuddyPress and created a couple of groups and even integrated them with forums (old school) however I need to change the colour of the breadcrumbs (to green) as the site cannot contain any blue. To do this by CSS is preferable as I lack any real knowledge. Many thanks in advance.
