Hi guys!,
I have an installation with WP 3.3.1 and BP 1.5.5 which I have created a profile group with some fields that editors have to fill in for other users (only those fields).
The question is that only the admin or the own user can see and edit the following page. Editors clicking that following link will see a 404 page not found.
http://example.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/4
I’m checking the following templates to try to find the capability restriction o whatever is restricting the page, but nothing found here:
/wp-content/themes/my-theme/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php
/wp-content/themes/my-theme/members/single/profile/edit.php
/wp-content/themes/my-theme/members/single/profile.phpAny help?
Thanks in advance

Upon registration, the fields are already filled with information from some other already registered member. The custom fields to be exact, which in my case are Name, Date of Birth and Country. I’m also using ‘BP Xtra Signup’ but I tried disabling it, and the problem was still there..
Is it possible to display all the profile fields from each group? I think this would be more intuitive for my users.
I need help with removing the Log In “button” from the adminbar. I know it has something to do with this code:
`function remove_xprofile_links()`
in the bp-custom.php file but I don’t know what the exact code is.
The other problem is that upon registration, the fields are already filled with information from some other already registered member. The custom fields to be exact, which in my case are Name, Date of Birth and Country. I’m also using ‘BP Xtra Signup’ but I’m not sure if that’s the problem..
I’m having trouble with my buddypress install. I think this is the right forum for these issues. Basically I cannot edit add, or view profile fields. When clicking profile fields in the admin panel it will not allow me to add groups. Also when clicking Activity or entering the URL it simply redirects to the homepage. The only buddypress options that seems to work AT ALL are the forums.
To me it seems like an install error because these errors happen when using the default buddypress theme. How would I do a clean reinstall of Buddypress? I’ve tried once and it saved the data from the last buddypress install, how do I work around this?
I tried to do a search on this but the search function doesn’t seem to work (keeps returning me to the same page – http://buddypress.org/?s) .
I have a buddypress site that was setup last year. With all the new features from both WP and BP, we’ve been looking into upgrading for some time. However we tried the auto update on a test site, and the member profile fields disappeared. Not sure what to do right now for our live site as we have 500+ member and cannot afford to mess this up.
Is there a specific way to upgrade or any known issues related to this? We are currently on
Wordpress version 3.2.1
Buddypress version 1.2.9Thanks!
BrandonHi everybody,
I’m trying the SVN version of BuddyPress and I see that there aren’t settings to set new profile fields.
Are you changing something about this feature? Thanks

On my install of BP it does not allow me to edit profile fields.
Under extended profile fields it says “you have no groups”
If I click add new group field it does not let me save.It gives me this error no matter what I input into the group field and description.
“There was an error saving the group. Please try again”Also the activity stream does not work. The page is set to /activity and it the page does exist but it simply resets to the homepage when trying to access the activity page.
The installation of BBpress works fine. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
I’ve been playing around with adding fields for the member-header.php file. as well as a custom profile page.
When I go to display ‘Bio’ ( with paragraphs, with line breaks etc. )
it shows up as a blob of text with out the line breaks.
Then when I go to edit the field – it displays with all returns and line breaks in tact. How do I display / output this field with the line breaks in tact?
This is what I’m using in a modified profile-loop.php file:
<div class="bio profile-field"> <h3 class="profile">Biography</h3> </div>Thanks for any tips!
