Ok will do. Do you know of any plugin that you can recommend to make Buddypress Private and allows for approval required registration?

“BP Registration Options” plugin makes Buddypress elements private, but it should redirect users to the registration page, not the home page so users know they have to login. Is that a bad plugin? Are there any other plugins that work?

I’m running WordPress 5.5.3 running Executive Pro theme. Using Genesis 3.3.3.

When a logged out user tries to access the community pages = Activity, Members, Groups, or Forum, it redirects them to the home page. I want it to direct them to the Register page so they know there is a community they can register for.

In Settings > Buddypress > Pages I have the following set:

    Register > Register
    Activate > Activate

When I click on “View” from there, it takes me to the home page (but I am logged in at that point since it’s the backend.)

Please help. The activity page is here:

    Activity

I am also running BP Registration Options in order to make BUddypress areas private.
    Thank you.

After registration, an account activation link is sent to user’s email. But when user click on that link, it will show 404 page not found error. Also members, groups page are working. But create group page, user profile page, settings page etc all are showing an error. Please check for this issue and help me out to solve this.

    Hi all,
I want to force my members to use strong passwords.
Is there any way to do so?

    I found this one:

    Force strong password BuddyPress plugin

It works using custom functions for registration only – I want to make it work also for the “change password” form for logged-in users.

But cant figure out the appropriate Hook to use for it.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Yes, this is a much desired application in BuddyPress. We have this application in our theme, the users are registered and activated simultaneously. In case you are interested, link.
We’ve even extended this Buddypress function into registering with a user with custom role or member type, registering in groups, sending custom activation email and on activation sending custom welcome emails all controlled at the point of registration itself.

I also tried a separate SMTP plugin. That also sends emails fine. But will not send the Registration/Activation email.

    Wordpress Version 5.5.1
BuddyPress Version 6.0.0 (updated to 6.30 but still have the same problem)
    Website: https://cannabisknowledgesociety.com

New user registration emails are not being received by people signing up. (It says click link in email to register your account and they never receive an email)
    > Website under “Users” -> “Manage Signups” shows the new user and shows emails sent 1.
    > Website does sent emails in other circumstances. When I did a backup restore of the site, it auto sent an email to me and it worked. I used an email check plugin and test emails are sending through that
    > But the Registration Email is not sending.

I’ve been trying to get this done the last two days straight and I’m really stuck here!

Using BP, you cannot see the registration page on the front end if you are logged in.
Any issues you have with kleo or youzer should be directed to their support.

I have tried everything to resolve this. I have a social networking site. When editing the Kleo Registration page, I can edit it, but when I want to view it it directs me to the Member page. My URL also goes to the member page. I remove the BuddyPress plugin, deinstall and delete it, the correct login page shows up. I reinstall BuddyPress, registration page directs to Members page. I need BuddyPress to run Youzer. Please help!

    My site is myfavves.com

Activation page is not loading/redirecting after submitting a registration form on my website (couponslord.com)

Previously i could see the “Activate” page with Activation key Text box after registering to the website. but now it’s not loading.

Because of this issue most the users on my website are directly trying to login to the website without activating the code. And they leave because they don’t able to login to the website

However, I have even added the Activate page in Buddypress setting.

Could you please help me out to resolve this issue?

    Hi
Does anyone know how to add an additional field box on the registration form for the user to confirm their email address?

This is an amazing plugin! I have a quick question that hopefully can be solved by some plugin or some code…

I have a site where the user will need to upload a document within 30 days of registration or their profile will be deactivated. I’m using custom profile fields. It doesn’t even need to be during sign-up; maybe there can be a spot in their profile to upload the doc. Is there any way to make that happen?

    Thank you!

Thanks so much for your reply.

Thing is the client does not use Paid Memberships Pro and it seems it can’t be used as a standalone. So they don’t use payments on the site (I wish they did) and auto registration is turned off. I think the paid version of BuddyPress Members Pro will do the trick, but client is not forking out more money because of the rand/dollar exchange so that is a no go. So I was hoping for a code snippet.

I found code that would block by username – but I can’t do it like that. Users gets updated from a daily import, and those who did not pay expires, but shouldn’t be removed. To automate that I thought subscriber could block them from using the rest of the site, but nothing blocks it on BuddyPress pages.

Something else I’ve done before was to make use of the “Spam” function – I translated it to Expired – that way it was easy for some admins to just quickly expire a member and also to unexpire them – but in this case it checks against a daily import and I need to automate it.

If at all there were a way to import users with a certain role for example, as a “spammer” which then would translate to expired, that would be great too.

So I am fishing for ideas … hoping someone has something for me.

    Thanks again for your input.

    Hi,
I use this plugin for a forum. On my registration form I have the privacy policy with a box that you have to tick in order to register. The link to the privacy policy is also included, but it opens in the same window. Is there an easy way to make sure that when you click on privacy policy, the page opens in a new window?

    Hi,
when a user registers to my site, he gets an email with a confirmation link and registration code. But the link does not work, it sais “page not found”.
The page is there, and I can open it in a new private window when logged in, but not from the email link. The registration code also works, I copied it into the field on the reg.page and it got confirmed.
The “everyone is allowed to register” is ticked.
I also deactivated all my plugins, didn’t make a change…
Do you have any other ideas, where the problem could be or what I could try?
My site is http://www.surf-mate.de – I’m using Astra theme, it also doesn’t work when changing to twenty-nineteen. I’m using wp Version 5.5.1–de_DE and BP version 6.3.0.
    Thanks… Benni.

Hello, there seems to be a problem with buddypress. Whenever I assign a registration page it just redirects to homepage.

I see others are experiencing the same problem but no one is addressing/ solving it.

Can someone please solve the issue. Seems there is a bug or something.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times
I have cleared cache on both site and browser
I have contacted my hosting and they troubleshoot and said it’s a bug with plugin.
I have even deactivated all plugins except buddypress.

    Nothing worked. Please help
