In reply to: Themes or Styles for Member Pages in BP 1.1.2
r-a-y
KeymasterYou can still use the old “bp-themes” format (for now anyway) as long as you haven’t deleted the “bp-themes” directory.
I’ve quoted the following from:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/upgrading-a-buddypress-1-0-theme-for-buddypress-1-1/
Firstly you can revert to the old BuddyPress 1.0 theme system. Simply recover your /wp-content/bp-themes/ folder. This will revert BuddyPress into compatibility mode. You will not see all of the new features added in 1.1, but you will gain from performance and code improvements.
But be advised that, from what I’ve heard, the old 2-way theme format is going be phased out eventually in a future BP release.

Participantwill install this on a pre-production site, will see if it fulfill my needs… right now by the look of it, it is great…
et si Chouf1 ne fait pas la traduction fr_FR, je vais m’en charger…

Edit:
first missing feature, when we enter a new category in the BP Links, no alert is displayed to tell the entry is done, and the fields are filled with the last entry we’ve made, so it looks like the page reload without saving… but it is saving, as when we submit again, we have an alert… make the alert for new entry done, and empty the fields please…

change the slug for this addon, as “links” is already by default on WP and is used in a lot of themes…

Participant@Xevo.. that’s true.. But it seems that wordpress/buddypress does something special when you resize using .css.. the avatar actually gets loaded in the size you specify in the .css… if you view the image it’s the same size (so not the original size of the image which gives bad results quality/data wise)

Keymaster<?php echo bp_core_fetch_avatar( 'item_id=' . get_the_author_id() . '&type=full&width=125&height=125' ) ?>BuddyPress 1.1.x only.

ParticipantDont let css/html do resizing, it just looks bad.

ParticipantI’m not 100% sure but I think you should assign a .css class to the image and then specify the height and width in the rules.. example:
#img.avatar_big {
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
height: 125px;
width: 125px;
border: 1px solid #FFFFFF;Let me know if it works!

Participantok… this is odd… if i use a non bp theme… for my home… it works… but the standard bp parent… themes… it does not
November 6, 2009 at 12:27 pm #56074Xevo
ParticipantYeah, that’d be a great solution.
Though, I’d still like to be able to theme the rest of the player as well. Since black doesnt go well with my current light/blue theme.
November 6, 2009 at 10:54 am #56066Xevo
ParticipantI like the plugin, but until I hear that I can theme the video player, I won’t be using it. Don’t want someone else’s logo on my website.
(Offcourse I understand everybody wants credits for its creation, so wouldnt mind putting a link on the about me page or something like that.)

KeymasterTake the files from bp-sn-parent/groups/single/forums/ and copy/paste them into the same location in your child theme, then season to taste.

Inactiveokay, it’s actually the plugin-template.php (I assume) and that was placed in my root folder for my theme, then it was moved to the bp-sn-parent folder of my theme, none of which produced desirable results for the added functionality.

ParticipantThanks. It was a problem with the theme which has been fixed in the last couple of days. An upgrade of the theme solved this. http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/buddypress-corporate-theme

November 5, 2009 at 1:12 pm #55973In reply to: agenda plugin and file sharing plugin
Bowe
ParticipantAh I see your problem and no the Calendar plugin does not the have agenda functions you are looking for.. Right now it’s still a bare bones plugin which does what it says, but nothing more..I’m hoping they will expend it in the near future and you can always point them to this thread to let them know you are interested and might take a subscription..
I’ve just become a member of Dev-Premium because I was interested in a lot of their plugins.. I can’t really judge if the money is worth it for a longer period of time, but their support is good and they are actively developing stuff for BuddyPress and WPMU.. It really depends on the site you want to run.. If you want to make some money with Ads and premium memberships for members you can find some really good plugins which makes this easy to fulfill….
I’m developing a non profit website so I will probably need to cancel my membership at the end of the month and become a premium member again when I have some extra money left! I’ve downloaded some cool themes and plugins for WPMU and BuddyPress so I’m happy with their service and corresponding price tag.. Hope this helps!

ParticipantIs it possible to theme that player?
Guess not, since I cant find anything about it on the documentation.

ParticipantIt’s not related to my browser. It happens on all browsers, on all blogs and on all themes. It even happens in the Dashboard area. You can see an example snapshot here: http://joss.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/files/2009/11/Picture-2.png

Inactivefor the life of me I can’t find the plugins_template.php file in the BP.zip to put it into the parent theme. If I wanted the functionality BP on all of the themes would I have to put it in each theme?
