Venutius
ModeratorYou’d probably need to look at overloading the activity input form and edit it to achieve what you require. the source file is
plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/activity/post-form.phpthis should be copied tothemes/your-child-theme/buddypress/activity/post-form.phpand you can then edit that file. One warning though, BP is changing the way activities are entered with BP Nouveau so if you pln on using BP-Nouveau in future you may need to explore other alternatives.

ModeratorThe other troubleshooting steps are as follows:
1. confirm the page that hold thebp content exist and are linked in Settings>>Buddypress>>pages.
2. Confirm it’s not a plugin conflict – deactivate all other plugins.
3. Confirm it’s not a theme conflict – switch to 2017 and test.May 14, 2018 at 10:57 am #272992In reply to: BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testing

ModeratorRegarding 1. I’m not seeing your issue on my test system, but that does not mean it’s not an issue.
What theme are you using?
Regarding issue 2, that’s not a standard bp feature s it is probably added with a plugin, that plugin may need to be updated to support Nouveau.

Participant@robertl4807 You can check for BuddyPress Resume Manager
We have extended the user fields with repeater data and displayed a new tab with dedicated template file which can be overridden inside the child theme. It’s a standalone plugin.May 14, 2018 at 6:51 am #272980Varun Dubey
Participant@bluevert You will need to override the template files inside the child theme.
Follow the steps mentioned hereMost of the time BP will use page.php since that template file exists in the majority of WordPress themes. However, if you wanted to style BuddyPress pages differently than a regular WordPress page, you could add a template file named buddypress.php to your theme’s directory and BP would use that template instead since that file is ahead of page.php in the hierarchy above.
After creating buddypress.php inside child theme, you can comment this line
do_action( 'travel_log_sidebar' );it will remove sidebar from all BuddyPress pages, if you need to keep on some BP pages, you can use conditional logic.

ParticipantHi Venutius,
Yes, I’ve tested with the default TwentyX themes and all plugins deactivated except for BuddyPress and the problem persists. No save button when uploading the profile photo.
Also, nothing in the console or error logs.

Venutius
ModeratorWhat you can do is overload that pages, the source file is
plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile/edit.phpCopy this file to
themes/your-child-theme/buddypress/members/single/profile/edit.phpyou can then edit this page to insert your label where you need.May 12, 2018 at 9:38 pm #272960In reply to: Migrating from Ultimate Member 2 to Buddypress

ParticipantHaving this custom build as a post type. Then each posts have hidden fields containing the company info. Custom page theme. Then each post has associated profile IDs. Oh, and then having profile page pull company post info that matches their profile id.
Seems like the only way due to the gap in the current features.May 11, 2018 at 12:49 pm #272924In reply to: BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testing
Venutius
ModeratorI think you are going to have to try it out. If your themes are overloading the BP files you should note that some files no longer exist in nouveau and some have changed, this may affect the running of your theme if you switch to Nouveau, on the other hand some Nouveau features may not take effect unless your theme is updated. I just depends on what changes your theme has made to the default working of BP. I’d try it on a test server.

Thank you . I can not wait to see him
I usually use themes purchased with BP’s standard hooks.
Will I be impacted if I switch with this new model?
What are the advantages in my case?

Venutius
ModeratorI don’t think I can advise you. BuddyPress does not some built in with a personal description. You can add one, in Dashboard>>Users>>Profile Fields, and it would be displayed during signup and in the users Profile>>View page. However, that’s not the default landing page for a profile, so it looks like your theme is overloading the users profile, and I think your theme developers would be best placed to ask.

ModeratorChances are there is a conflict with either another plugin or your theme. Try it running just BuddyPress and a default theme such as 2017.

ParticipantHi Paul,
I somehow did not get an allert of your message!
Do you have a suggestion as to who would be well suited for that?
I’ve been using VC for some years now, in combination with some 30 themes and loads of plugins and have never had any issues like this.
And truthfully, debugging it myself would be a lengthy process that would simply cost me too much time now…Best regards,
Bye

ParticipantHi Joseph,
Thanks for the input!
I choose kBase by DesignThemes ( https://themeforest.net/item/knowledge-base-helpdesk-wordpress-theme/18600587?s_rank=10 ) after reviewing and comparing a lot of premium themes and this one should be just right for this combination.
Of course I first knocked on their door with my problem, but they pointed me to the plugins…
So, as so often is case, Theme builder points at plugin developer and vice versa, with me in the middle not getting any wiser…Best regards,
Bye
