    I’ve had problems with my Elementor Pro and Essential Addons Pro for Elementor built login/registration page for some time now. After troubleshooting, I’ve found a conflict with Rank Math, but after Rank Math, Elementor and Essential Addons for Elementor all troubleshooted the problems, I was told the problem is caused by BuddyPress and that I needed to contact BP to get assistance.

    The user (not admin) login page on the site is extremechickens.com/login-registration-x/

    WP: 6.0.2
    BP: 10.4.0
    Astra Pro theme. (Problem happens even when switched to theme twenty twenty.)
    Cloudways hosting provider – Vultr server
    Cloudflare
    BuddyPress Nouveau

    I’m not sure what else you need from me, but feel free to let me know.

    Thanks!

    Problem Statement: I am not getting a preview/thumbnail/featured image of YouTube videos, Blogs links, when I post the link in the activity stream. Actually, When the link is copied in the activity stream it displays the preview (before pressing post button) but when it is posted, only the link remains and thumbnails disappear.

    Following are the details of Configuration:
    1. Premium Version of CIRKLE Theme
    2. Latest Version of WordPress
    3. Installed “Activity Link preview for Buddy press”

    WebAddress is http://www.Engineersland.com

    Request you to help me resolve the issue at the earliest as without a preview of the links whole fun of developing a social media web will go.

    Regards

    If Buddypress is active on any of my sites with Disable Gutenberg or Classic Editor plugins — then it will not allow a featured image upload/attach to a post or page. The image can upload to the site, but it will not attach and display for the post or page.

    I have run a lot of test over the last week to figure out the issue or a workaround — but this happens on every single site I’ve tried it on.

    It’s not theme dependent. Or caused by a different plugin. It’s BuddyPress in conjunction with either of those two.

    Good day beautiful people. Please I need assistance with organising the format in which the posts on my buddy press theme is presented as can be seen in the red box here https://mywokshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Screenshot-2022-09-07-at-08.09.26.png

    The image is supposed to be centred and the text directly under the image, words spilling into the next line is supposed to automatically have a hyphen showing that it is a continuation of the same word, but things are a bit scattered here.

    When I have Buddypress activated, then I cannot publish featured images to my blog posts. They upload to my site, but it will not save with the post. It’s done this for months – so I had just deactivated. But I need Buddypress back again.

    Also, this isn’t unique to one theme. I’ve tried it on two separate sites with different themes. I’ve deactivated all other plugins, etc…

    Buddypress is the issue.

    As I have not managed to code something that works to identify my specific group, I did a bit of lateral thinking and my code looks to see whether or not a “group_mod” is present in a group and (if not) the Join/Hide button is hidden, like the case of group_admins, when only one is present. I can live with it for now, as I just have to make sure that all other groups have at least one Moderator set, then they work as normal.

    It works fine for me, using BuddyPress Version 10.4.0, under WordPress 6.0.2 and a modified “Wellness Pro Version: 1.1.4” child theme under Genesis Framework Version: 3.3.5.

    I hope it helps, unless and until some kind BuddyPress dev comes in with a proper solution!

    I’ve never seen this.
    Perhaps your site has a theme or plugin or extra code that includes an option to cc the site admin on every email.
    Does the site admin also get emails re every comment made on a WordPress post?

    NOTE:
    If you using localhost and an email interface like MailHog, you will see all the emails.

    @vibethemes

    Thank you for responding!

    Even though this code snippet makes sense, and I’ve implemented it in my functions.php. It doesn’t seem to be firing at all.

    Hi,

    I’m using the default BP registration page and have to use the legacy themes for various reasons. But I’m having a horrible time customizing the form!

    One thing I’d like to do is apply a page background. I’ve tried using .page-id-####. I’ve tried using my Generate Press theme to apply a page layout. But it seems as though I can’t apply anything to this page other than some changes via css to the form itself (and that’s been difficult).

    Thanks.

    Try switching to the BP Nouveau template pack in BP settings.
    Try switching to a WP theme like 2020 and see if the issue persists.

    Why are you using such old version of WP and BP?

    BP dynamically creates content for BP pages – so very few, if any, theme builders will work.

    I tried it all and rollback to 10.0.0 version and tested with all versions prior to current update and nothing works for me.
    I tried deactivation of plugins.
    Change of theme as well.
    But no luck happening at all with it.

    I’m not sure which version this started happening with, but in the last I want to say month or so, there’s a random string of jquery at the top of all of the Buddypress pages on my website:

    https://girlinbluemusic.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/jquery.jpg

    I have confirmed that this still happens with the 2021, 2020, and 2017 themes, and it only seems to happen with the Buddypress plugin alone.

    Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this issue? I’ve also had some other recaptcha issues with my site, and I’m not sure if it’s related to this or to another plugin, but one thing at a time.

    Hi,

    I have a Rehub theme and Buddypress there. The problem is that the customer can write with the customer, but I want the customer to be able to write only with the seller. Can it be reduced like that?
    Also, in the messages tab, the customer can see all the people registered on the site, is there any way to limit this?
    Well thank you.

Absolutely nothing will work and I geta critical error every time. Hoping someone can help me. Here is the stack trace:

    Thank you Michael,
    It doesn’t work. I have tried the second code for admnins and also the first code by excluding users by ID (numbers of the admins I want to hide).
    Tried at the root of folder Plugins and BuddyPress, also into the code directly in functions.php of my theme Sydney… nothing works.
    Hoping you or someone have another idea ?

    Thanks a lot Mathieu for your fast response

    I have found this in my search of uncaught errors:

    “Compatibility Fix: Added support for a define to disable a feature of Sync that sets the WP_ADMIN define to true when handling an authenticated request from the Sync server. This feature exists to prevent compatibility issues with some security plugins yet can also cause a conflict with some plugins. To disable this feature, add the following to the site’s wp-config.php file:
    define( ‘ITHEMES_SYNC_SKIP_SET_IS_ADMIN_TO_TRUE’, true );”

    Do you think that it will do the job looking forward a solution ?
    I mean adding into the wp-config.php file:
    define( ‘BP_SIGNUPS_SKIP_USER_CREATION’, true );
    Thank you ! et merci beaucoup 😉

    Hello, I got the same error at same line 249 when I want to activate a pending account manually.
    This happen with
    WordPress version 6.0.1
    Active theme: Sydney
    Current plugin: BuddyPress (version 10.3.0)
    PHP version 7.4.30
    I tried with no plugin only the Sydney Theme. It happens also with precedent WP version.
    I see nothing bad except this error on an alert page.
    I have to go back and continue as admin.

    I’ve seen a topic where Mathieu Viet & David Cavins are working on it last 8 month.
    /bp-members/bp-members-membership-requests.php:249
    May be they can take a look ?
    Thank you

    When using the Kadence child theme and BuddyPress, I’m getting a small viewport to see the uploaded image and crop area. Is there a way to fix this issue? Once I crop it, it’s not showing the whole image either. It just shows a section of what I’ve cropped.

    Any additional assistance would be wonderful.

    Hi Mathieu, thank you for this suggestion, but I’m sorry to report that this does not fix the error for me.

    First I added a bp-custom.php file containing your code, following the instructions you linked to, and the same fatal error still occurred on any attempt to add a new page or post.

    Next, I tried deactivating ALL plugins except for BuddyPress, and switching to the Twenty Twenty theme. This error still occurs, even when the only plugin active is BuddyPress, on a default WP theme, both with the new bp-custom.php file and without it. I did this on the development environment for the site: https://edrmdev.wpengine.com/

    So I’m really at a loss, having tried every recommended troubleshooting technique.

    Is there anything else you can suggest?

    I’m happy to test anything that might work.

    Yes. BP creates a ‘dummy’ post.
    For example, see
    public function single_dummy_post()
    in
    buddypress\bp-members\classes\class-bp-members-theme-compat.php

    To check if you’re on the members directory, use:
    if( bp_current_component('members') )

    Hello,

    I want to create multiple members pages based on field value.

    For example let’s say I have a field called “Team” and values are 1,2 and 3.

    I want to create a members page for each teams showing team members.

    I found this code to create a function that will filter based on the field value :

    function my_custom_ids( $field_name, $field_value = '' )

    I fount it HERE

    I understood I need to add this code in my-theme/functions.php or in bp-custom.php but after that how can I call this function on the 3 different pages with the 3 different fields values ??

    The code on the three pages will be like that if I understood well :

    <?php if ( bp_has_members( my_custom_ids( 'Team', '1' ) ) ) : ?>
    <?php if ( bp_has_members( my_custom_ids( 'Team', '2' ) ) ) : ?>
    <?php if ( bp_has_members( my_custom_ids( 'Team', '3' ) ) ) : ?>

    I missed something, I really don’t know where to put the code that call the created function on the new page I created :/

    Thank you for your help

    Hi thanks for your feedback and sorry you’re having trouble between BP & PHP 8.0. I also use it but can’t manage to reproduce your issue. You can fix this trouble easily though. You simply need to add the following code:

    <?php
    remove_filter( 'block_editor_rest_api_preload_paths', 'bp_blocks_preload_paths' );

    into a bp-custom.php file and put it in /wp-content/plugins as explained here: https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/bp-custom-php/

    I also have error with BuddyPress:
    WordPress version 6.0.1
    Active theme: OneCommunity Child Theme (version )
    BuddyPress (version 10.3.0)
    PHP version 8.1.0

    Uncaught Error: Class "BP_Admin" not found in ..../wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-admin.php:20

    It works ok, if I set PHP to 7.4 version.
    Site works ok with PHP 8.1.0 if i disable BuddyPress plugin.
