Participant@dcavins Hey did you get a solution? I have exactly the same problem on a Linux server (RedHat).
Latest wordpress and buddypress versions, default theme… Looked all over the internet…September 7, 2012 at 3:06 pm #141207In reply to: Theme compatibility?
@mercime
ParticipantBasically, you will no longer need to install the BP Template Pack plugin to make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress as this new feature serves as a fallback for any WP theme which does not have BuddyPress templates in it. The feature is the same way bbPress plugin templates are served up in WP themes.

MemberHello, I have the same problem, and I am using the default theme for buddypress, any ideas on how to fix this issue?
September 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm #141204In reply to: Activating Buddypress features
@mercime
ParticipantYou need to install/activate BP Template Pack plugin to make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress.
September 7, 2012 at 2:57 pm #141203@mercime
ParticipantCould very well be that your theme has not been updated. Have you changed to bp-default theme to see if issue is corrected?

ParticipantGive some more information — Which theme are you using? What url does it give in the email? Which url are you being redirected to (and what does the title bar say)?

ParticipantYes it work with the admins but for other user account type the plugin didn’t allow them to create a group. Is it a theme conflict or plugin conflict?
September 7, 2012 at 8:02 am #141188cleaus
ParticipantSorry, i did not realise. Here they are again:
Index: http://pastebin.com/1GbGaU1e
Page: http://pastebin.com/g79JRmVj
Sidebar: http://pastebin.com/ZraRFumy
Footer: http://pastebin.com/5Q1rHp0R
Thanks
September 7, 2012 at 7:15 am #141186In reply to: Restrict Group Creation
@mercime
ParticipantIt’s either a theme conflict or more likely a plugin conflict (a membership plugin probably) because restricting group creation to admins only is working in all default installations using bp-default theme and updated plugins.

ParticipantB. CREATE a NEW BLANK FILE named sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php file and add the following within:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/strings/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.
September 7, 2012 at 7:09 am #141184@mercime
ParticipantBased on the HTML structure of your theme, you will only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make the BP templates compatible with your theme.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your strings theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete those 6 BP folders transferred to your theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add:
`<article class="blog_post" id="post-id; ?>”>`September 7, 2012 at 7:09 am #141183jaymeselman
Member@mercime all page sidebar
September 7, 2012 at 6:21 am #141181@mercime
Participant@jaymeselman based on the HTML structure of your theme, you only need to create two files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php
Having said that, you have two options. either
a) all pages full-width
b) all pages with sidebar(a) or (b)?
September 7, 2012 at 5:49 am #141180@mercime
Participant@cleaus there’s not a single code in your pastebin.com’s links for index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php

MemberOh haha (a) please! Thanks so much!
September 6, 2012 at 8:00 pm #141165@mercime
ParticipantI did ask you if you wanted option (a) or (b) above so we can do this already
Which is it?September 6, 2012 at 7:57 pm #141163In reply to: [Resolved] Allignment – BlackLight theme
@mercime
Participant@tomelk31 looks like the easiest option is available where you only need to adjust the style instead of revising 16 BP template files by adding the following to your stylesheet:
`#content .padder {
float: left;
margin-top: 20px;
width: 600px;
}`
then copy over the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet after the `#content .padder` above, then adjust to taste.September 6, 2012 at 7:48 pm #141162BurntheEdges
MemberWell I’ve tried goin about and creating the separate header, sidebar and footer files but I honestly have no idea what code I need to add and where? Does anyone have a clue what I need to add to make these work?
September 6, 2012 at 7:13 pm #141158In reply to: Safari and Chrome messed up bbpress layout
nickyernstsen
MemberThe only thing i’ve done is to replace “sidebar” with “//sidebar” in the twenty ten theme files.
As to your solution, could you be more specific as to how I resolve this issue. I’ve no idea how to remove the ‘table-layout fixed’, and by removing that won’t I then get full width on all pages?
I only need full width on the forum.
