Memberoh, damn! Thanks, I swear I searched for a place to post my error on the themekraft site, but just found there was a support forum for premium costumers. Thanks again, should I delete this topic or something?

InactiveHonestly if you want BuddyPress to function correctly, In my opinion you should create a child theme based on the BuddyPress default theme and make any changes within its css. If you don’t know how to make a child theme then I can send you a really simple one that allows you to change the CSS of the buddypress default theme. As of this post the newest theme is Fanwood and I am not certain it will function correctly with WordPress 3.4.1 and BuddyPress 1.6

Inactive@arrogance-is-bliss Thanks for the info. Its a shame how some people use their knowledge destructively vs constructively. I will never jeopardize the integrity of the platform just to have a malicious plugin or theme released.

ParticipantIf you don’t want threads locked do not! insult people or get tetchy it does you no favours. No one is obliged to help and one takes what help one does receive with good grace even if not quite what what one was after, also do bear in mind tech help forums are not services, members are not obliged to write code snippets for people.
As for giving free time be careful using that as reasoning; many of us give a huge amount of our time, seldom spare, and is not something insignificant, for instance a few of us are just bringing a community theme to fruition which has taken a lot of our time little of which could really be said to be ‘spare’ time and when this is how you make your living, especially in a freelance capacity that is best not overlooked as something insignificant.
I’m closing this thread as it does not ask any questions that can be answered.

@mercime
Participant@webifiedgeek depends on the theme. usually you change the color of the font in the theme’s style.css file

Participant@mercime Thanks so much for replying. I am using a theme Supermassive by themeforest and this theme is BP compatible. Was working fine with BP1.5.7. Plugins Installed (all at their latest versions)
bbpress,
jw player,
members (for tweaking user roles),
akismet,
BP Group Email Subscription,
Subscribe2,
Buddypress Group forum extras(deactivating this didn’t work),
enhanced Buddypress widgets,
WP Super Cache
YARRPSite Wide Forum settings – I have checked “Allow BuddyPress Groups to have their own forums”
and Group Forums Parent as “Forum Root”. The pages assigned under Buddypress – Settings have not changed, nor I made any changes to the Site Wide Forum Settings after upgrading to version 1.6. There are only 2 options for me at Buddypress->Settings-> Forums
1. Uninstall Group Forums
2. Configure Site Wide ForumsThanks and would really appreciate all advise.

Participant==. I’ve read through the previous topics in regards to this, but haven’t seen my particular issue brought up. … I’ve tried switching to BP Default theme, and disabling all plugins except Buddypress. ==
@sarah_lena Which kind of images are not sized properly – user’s gravatar, or uploaded avatar or the mystery man default avatar?

KeymasterIf you’re not using BP-Default theme, the theme would have to be updated for the new templates.

ModeratorAre you using a custom theme? Do you have a menu created in the admin and placed in the primary slot?
Btw you can always get old versions of plugins by going to WordPress.org and on the plugins page there is a developer tab with links

Participant@smartmwp do provide more information about your installation like — Single or Multisite? Custom theme or have you tried changing to bp-default to see if issue is corrected? Plugins installed? etc.
August 11, 2012 at 9:33 pm #139157Paul Wong-Gibbs
Keymaster1. Yes, we changed this to make BuddyPress compatible with more servers. To change this WordPress email address, try a plugin like https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/send-from/ or ask on the WordPress.org forums for other recommendations.
2. What theme (and version of the theme) are you using? What version was this working on? i.e. what version did you upgrade from.
3. 1.6 uses the WordPress core toolbar, rather than BuddyPress’ old toolbar. The WordPress logo is added to the bar by WordPress itself.

ParticipantHello everyone,
Sorry for your discomfort.
We missed it to test the theme properly enough against BP 1.6 and feel sorry for it.We are now working with 2 devs on a new version to support 1.6 and fix some overdated issues.
New version will be available around next week.
I will post it here in the forum when the new version is released.
Thanks to Paul Gibbs for pointing us on this.
August 11, 2012 at 10:49 am #139137In reply to: functions.php or bp-custom.php?
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterYes, that’s the whole point. Or you could put all your custom code into a utility plugin, and load it that way. There’s many ways to do the same thing (load code to use in a theme) and which is best depends on the situation.

August 11, 2012 at 10:28 am #139131In reply to: functions.php or bp-custom.php?
Paul Wong-Gibbs
Keymasterbp-custom.php is loaded before most of BuddyPress is loaded, and a theme’s functions.php is loaded later in a process. Functions.php is also specific to a theme, and bp-custom.php isn’t.

August 11, 2012 at 2:03 am #139119In reply to: Banned user can still reply
LIB53
MemberBuddypress 1.6, using the BuddyPress Default theme. The user is shown as banned in the Admin > Members list. The user cannot create forum topics, forum replies, or write new updates in the group. In a green box underneath the group description it states “You have been banned from this group.” when that user visits the group. It’s a public group. The banned user can still read everything, and he can reply to activity feed entries.
This was possible on previous versions of buddypress (1.5.6 i think) and I was wiping and re-installing wordpress and buddypress on two different servers (local and online) both producing the same results with fresh installs. I really had nothing to do that day… My site ended up only using private groups and I thought this was intended so I didnt mention it before.
