What I can see from the source code of your BP Pages online – Activity, Members, etc. – is that the old BP template files were not replaced by your revised template files.
What you can do is to manually delete the 6 BP folders which are currently in server wp-content/themes/ifeaturepro folder then upload the 6 folders with the revised template files to your server wp-content/themes/ifeaturepro/ again
Ok – I must have done something wrong somewhere so I am going to go though this step by step so you can tell me what I did wrong. Pages are coming up blank. I did this on my other site http://IndyGrapevine.com with a clean install of WP then added the BuddyPress plug in and went though the steps to activate.
I downloaded to my hard drive the 6 files that you stated above
wp-content/themes/ifeaturepro/activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration
Then I changed each of the 16 files with the codes that you supplied.
Then I uploaded those files back to wp-content/themes/ifeaturepro
went to dashboard and finished with the installation.
This is a link of one of the new files that I created per your instructions so you can see what I did
http://pastebin.com/pKDwGDq2
http://indygrapevine.com is up and running so that you can see that none of the pages except the home page works. Thanks for all your help with this I owe you.
Tested everything as requested.

You shouldn’t edit bp-default theme styles via theme editor because all your changes will be overwritten when you upgrade BuddyPress along with bp-default theme. Build a child theme of bp-default instead and change styles there https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
It was easier for me to paste and replace than check your pastebin.com, here’s code for register.php http://pastebin.com/GemBdJxB
If registration still fails, change to bp-default theme and see if issue is corrected. If not, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress.
My register.php file is at
http://pastebin.com/WuC7sY6E
thanks.
All you need to do is just create a cascading menu and assign it as the primary navigation in the BP-Default theme.
I also incorporated one of the CSS patches from the Buddy Press Trac so the menus don’t entirely break in IE7/8.
EDIT: Just spent about an hour upgrading my bbPress themes to use the new table-less format of bbPress 2.1. Looks a lot better to boot.
Yes, that was already on. And still on.
First thing you can do is track down in the template a link that generates this type of output. BP Corporate is a premium theme (I think), and I don’t have a copy to look at. When you’ve found in the theme where this markup is being generated, you can paste the relevant part of the theme here so we can see how it’s being done, which will tell us whether it’s being done correctly or not — always a good starting point
Activity should only currently allow the following tags: span, a, img, code. I just tried putting an iframe in my activity stream on our testbp.org site, and it was stripped out. If it’s getting through for you, maybe another plugin or theme customisations is interfering.
Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you’d need to use the first option, i.e., change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your iFeature theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
`
with: http://pastebin.com/h0RCY8rX
Updated 050812 — Simplified with right sidebar
`
Save files.
B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php): http://pastebin.com/yqnMPAQD
Updated: 050812 — Simplified with right sidebar
`
`
with the following for registration/register.php: http://pastebin.com/q7te52hk
Updated 050812 — Simplified with right sidebar
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you revised up to your server wp-content/themes/ifeature/
D. Copy the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ to the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet. Adjust styles to taste after.
You have to enable registration in WordPress side. Go to dashboard menu > Settings > General — Membership – and check “Anyone can register”
Sorry if I sound stupid, but I don´t know what to say now.
I can´t recall enabling registration anywhere – you mean WP settings or Buddypress settings? I haven´t found nothing related to this so far.
I have another sites in production, but linked to other accounts and hosted in different places. That´s a single WP site,
http://pastebin.com/DDX3d0bc – core actions page actions.php
http://pastebin.com/qYsSy6tN – core actions index.php
@modemlooper – I second not1_name statements re: I think a native BP app would be very useful!
Being dependent on Aurigma is iffy at best.
We wouldn’t want your app incorporated into a theme.
If it works standalone, then a site license fee is a no-brainer !
Creating a mobile theme for BP is a huge task that others might not want to take on. There seems to be a movement in using responsive themes instead.
As for pic uploads on iOS there is only 3 options: the intermediary app, a native app and an email image option. I’ve never tried doing the email option as I think it’s a clunky method. Facebook gives this type of option but I think it’s more for feature phones with cameras, not smartphones with apps. Would instagram be as successful if you could only email in photos?
Other option, like you stated, is to use other services to get photos into BuddyPress; twitpic, instagram, Flickr etc.
If you have the following files (based on the free ifeature theme) open up ifeature theme’s /core/actions/page-actions.php and post code in pastebin.com and do the same with theme’s core/actions/index-actions.php
The correction in the number of files which needed to be changed was noted after the recent version was released. If you decide to change only 15 files, that’s up to you. You know what to do in case you encounter an unaligned page layout.
== something wrong with the register.php page link which is navigating back to the home page. ==
Did you enable registration for your single WP or WP multisite?
Which bbPress forum are you referring to — internal bbPress forums used for Group forums or bbPress 2.+ plugin used for Sitewide Forums?
If you’re referring to Group forums, if you’re using a WP theme, you need to install BP Template Pack plugin, then adjust the HTML structure of the forums in BP template files to render the layout you want.
If you’re referring to the Sitewide forums, then there should be no problem at all.
Have you tried changing to bp-default theme to see if issue is corrected?
Hugo,
My sincerest apologies. I am embarrassed to have been so abrasive and adamant about my issue. Looking at the post and the manner of which they were posted is not me. So again, thank you for responding and understand that I have taken note and will be more patient in the future.
Being said, I have the latest WP and the latest BuddyPress installed. I did install through the one click installation. I purchased the “Salutation” theme from Parallelus and before I migrated my site to a dedicated server I was able to create groups and forums as a user. I will go through each plugin associated with BuddyPress and assure there isn’t anything I missed.
I will post me result.
Thank you again, Hugo.
@mercime thanks a lot.
I did it all. BuddyPress required me to change 15 files, not 16.
Everything seems aligned now, but there ´s something wrong with the register.php page link which is navigating back to the home page. I did that one twice, using a clean backup file I have. Same results.
Clues?
Again, thank you very much.
No I am using the Paid Pro version. Let me know what files you need and I will send them over ASAP
Thanks for all your hard work.
Running wordpress 3.3.1 and BP 1.5.4.
Changing to the BP default theme, error still occurs.
I am running Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin (AWPCP); and when I deactivate this the error stop. So it has something to do with this plugin although I can seem to find out why.
It helps if you try and supply a little detail to your post, what setup have you got , versions etc, what have you tried thus far i.e have you followed all the steps to set up these aspects in the BP settings. Are you using a custom theme if so have you performed essential basic step of reverting to the bp-default theme with any plugins installed that may conflict disabled and does the issue still exist then when running a basic standard install.
When you say re-install via ftp how did you originally install? Via a one click control panel install? if so then, yes do perform a fresh install, but after checking issue still exists with default setup
@Mercime: May I send you an email so you can take a look at my site?
