MemberI’m not sure what plugin you used, or how it cost you $20.
The problem with code edits is that they’ll be overwritten when you update.
I use Theme My Login. It doesn’t cost a penny, and also makes your login/register pages look like your site instead of the generic WordPress login page. And you can control activation, etc.
There is also a premium plugin (you can sign-up for Buddydev.com for $30 and get access to lots of great Buddypress plugins and themes)

MemberI tried adding it to my functions file is my theme (using suffusion w/ the suffusion buddypress plugin) and it still didn’t work. is there any special place in the file I should be adding it in? I am using a child theme as well, should I put my functions.php file into the child theme? I don’t think that would make much of a difference in this case would it?
Thanks for your help!

MemberThe theme I’m using had Nivo baked in, and it was interfering with other jquery functions as well. I ripped all references to Nivo out of my theme, and also removed the redundant call to load jquery, especially given it was loading jquery-1.6.2 while WP was loading 1.6.1.

MemberTheme My Login can do this, but you said preferably not a plugin. I don’t know another way to do it personally, but someone else may.

Moderator@Karmatosed I hate responsive themes because they are misused. You do not need it for desktop. Ever. If you use responsive css then it should give you the appropriate css based on screen size, not change the layout when you resize a browser. That is the worst UI/UX i’ve ever seen.
As for the app approach, more people access Facebook and Twitter via apps than they do browsers. The numbers dictate the slow death of the browser.

KeymasterYeah. On the cropper page, it should be loading a jcrop javascript file. Does your theme have both wp_head and wp_footer actions?

Moderator@Pisanojm: External blog is more of a tutorial but thank you for the rest.
@stwc: as @enderandrew said it’s still beta this list is more a guide and help than a omg panic button inducing one
All is good but lets just keep each other informed.@modemloopers / @Svenl77 can we if cool keep this to updated plugins / issues rather than a mobile discussion. To that extent please start that in forum as a thread as personally I have like others opinions on that such as looking at responsive rather than the app approach (not time for debate here though
).@Travel-Junkie: Thank you updated those plugins to show working.

ParticipantThanks for trying it out InterMike. I think that a few of your issues are related to the theme not being updated in the last week. I’ve been away on vacation and, as I’m sure you know, the BP Trunk has been getting loads of updates every day. I’ll have a chance to look into the updates this weekend and look for an updated version of the theme on Monday.

InactiveNope, only the groups directory is a page, but not a single group. This topic is for compatibility issues, so please create your own topic if it’s not related. Cheers.

ModeratorBuddyPress Share It and BuddyPress Verified good to go with either BP versions. Though all plugins will need toy be verified with the RC 1.5.
BuddyPress Mobile is most likely going to crash and burn with 1.5 and I’m not updating it. I’m turning it into a free version of http://buddiphone.com. Good things come to those who wait.

Member1.5 isn’t even released yet. Many plugins will need to be updated, but you can’t really expect people to update those plugins until they’ve had a time to test against 1.5 for compatibility.

ParticipantThese failed for me in 1.5 beta:
Bp-Like – Failed. via @hempsworth (will be updated soon according to him)
Activity-Stream-Bump-to-top failed. via @nuprn1 (Currently Rich is not updating this, but I hope somebody does for 1.5 as this is a most useful plugin)
External blog failed. via @bowromir found here:

MemberCreate a simple page template for the feedback page. All you want is the pages content and comments. Make this the default theme for this post type. Then simply create an ifame calling the page that you would have normally linked to. I would set the frame style to have border=”0″ so that it looks more integrated. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions.

ParticipantThanks @davidtcarson for the best BP theme to date! A few issues, though:
1. Need support for sidebar/widgets.
2. Main nav tabs on the Activity Stream page looks like they’re missing some CSS, they’re not centered properly for me (using Ubuntu 10.04/Chrome 13). Changing default.css on line 2710 to:
div.item-list-tabs ul li a, div.item-list-tabs ul li span {
display: block;
padding: 5px 10px 10px 10px; /* Changed from: padding: 5px 10px; */
text-decoration: none;
}made it look better.
3. Too much white space: too much use of margins and padding, especially on activity updates. (BP Default has this problem, too.)
4. When pages/menus are hierarchical and you create a drop down menu, it’s hidden by the Activity Stream text box (or whatever happens to be underneath it.
5 Layout is too wide. Just a CSS thing, but make sure things fit into the layout properly when the width is changed. Very wide layouts aren’t in style, especially for “social networking-related” websites. It’s awkward and uncomfortable lol. Perhaps you might want to change it so that things look right when the layout’s width is changed to 960px or so.
6. The Buddy Bar doesn’t extend all the way to the left and right on large screens (at least it didn’t for my other computer with a larger square monitor.) The CSS in buddybar on line 1:
body#bp-default #wp-admin-bar .padder {
min-width: 960px;
max-width: 1250px;
}had to be changed, I had to uncheck “max-width: 1250px;” for it to extend all the way on both sides.
7. When you have bbPress installed and sidebar widgets activated (which only appear on bbPress pages)
needs a fixed width or something on the bbPress topic edit page, because it extends underneath of the sidebar, and you can’t click on the Submit button. (I have to go into Inspect Elements and delete the sidebar in order to update a topic lol.) But all other bbPress pages seem to be fine, though.8. BP pages, WP pages, and bbPress pages are inconsistent with their design. BP pages are wide and have no left and right side (ie. http://allmad.org/lol/), while bbPress and WP pages have spaces along the top and sides (i.e. http://allmad.org/lol/forums/forum/rants/) – which, I think, looks much better because it’s makes the header stand out more, and it’s easier to understand since the pages are then separated from the header, rather than BP pages where they’re not. Oh, and bbPress /forums/ page isn’t styled (i.e. http://allmad.org/lol/forums/)
