KeymasterWhile this is a general CSS query, we need a link to your site/demo page to see the specifics. Can you share?

ParticipantOpen the file called style.css in your theme and look for “body” (it’ll be near the top). Modify the background-image & background-color properties to suit your theme.
You could also check out themes that enable you to customize stuff with a few clicks in an admin panel. Just so happens I’ve built a couple

Keymaster“Control panel” doesn’t appear in BuddyPress. I guess that’s part of your theme, or another plugin?

Keymaster@karmatosed @mercime @bowromir @hnla and anyone else interested in contributing to BP-Default 1.3:
Mercime has generously done a wp.org-style theme review of BP-Default. I’ve created tickets on trac. The master ticket is https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3241
I may add a few more tickets once Mercime has clarified a few details. If you are interested and will commit to resolving one of these, please go into trac and “accept” a ticket so that everyone can see that you have assign it to yourself. If it’s a big visual change, I suggest making a mockup picture and attach it to the ticket so that everyone can give feedback.
If I can be of any help or guidance, I’m on skype as “djpaulgibbs”, on IRC and frequently check my email. Don’t hesitate to get in contact

Keymaster@gunju2221 jjj has built the new version of bbPress, and obviously integration of that into BuddyPress is planned. Have you checked out the bbPress test installation on http://testbp.org/discussion ?
RE: a BuddyPress UI team. People who are interested in contributing in this way need to have shown their interest by contributing to theme and UI tickets and issues as they crop up. I know some of the people in this thread already have, and do; keep on the good work

MemberThanks for replying, @mercime ; I already had the default theme, but I deactivated all plugins but BuddyPress, and I still have the exact same issue…
FYI I run BuddyPress 1.2.8 and WP 3.1.2. Perhaps this bug has been fixed in BP 1.3, what do you think?

Moderator@MrMaz, @Bowromir: I’m up for linking up about UI / design on the default theme, buddypress.org and also back end admin interface. As I come from a UI and design / front end more should fit in hopefully with those already volunteering. I would love to get involved in both parts and have done a small amount with some sketches for the dashboard previously for @djPaul.
As previously discussed I would like to suggest the formation of the BuddyPress UI/design team. I think in BuddyPress’s case it should include the default theme as that is the main along with admin UI experience most get.
I am also happy to get involved in CSS documentation which I think is a key issue. I actually think it should all stay in one file but be documented and commented so that it’s easy to navigate and find content. I have done some clean up on the CSS before but suggest this goes deeper with commenting and better organisation. I would like to take that task on even with the default theme as think will benefit others – assuming it’s not being done already.

@mercime
Participant@Qwindoo that is definitely not the default behavior as you have surmised. Change theme to bp-default and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress. Then activate your plugins and theme one after another to check which one is triggering the errant behavior.

Member@mercime thanks for your help!

When I said “move” I mean “copy db-template-pack/template/Activity folder from plugin to Tweentyten folder”
I think it isn’t a css/html error because no theme loads.
Any other advice?
I’m taking a look on database wp_options, to see if there is something anormal.

Participant== move the Activity, Registration and Members folders to TwentyTen theme ==
You don’t “move” the BP folders to your theme, you need to
1. have Twenty Ten theme activated
2. install the BP Template Pack plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/
3. follow the instructions of the BP Compatibility Process https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
If you need some pointers for the whole process, read this – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/

ParticipantYou do not need PHP skills, it’s simply a copy paste operation in reality, an understanding of markup is required though.
In essence you are comparing those two files and using your current themes file as the baseline and ensuring a BP file matches it in markup structure. Not sure what that second file is meant to be as it appears to want to display a video which my current browser is not enabled for..
This walkthrough might help you better.

May 20, 2011 at 11:07 am #112697In reply to: which file will i get User header.php
@mercime
ParticipantSure you can. members-loop.php does co-exist with member-header.php

Just remember to follow the directory structure which means that your member-header.php will be copied over like so –
wp-content/themes/yourchildthemefolder/members/single/member-header.phpMay 20, 2011 at 10:52 am #112696@mercime

Participant@ All – WP/BP versions? Have you deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and changed to bp-default theme? That is not default behavior so something’s interfering with the login.
May 20, 2011 at 10:33 am #112693@mercime
Participant@Jigsawseo If you change Custom Community theme to bp-default theme, does the error still appear when you activate BP Album+?
If the error still comes up, then post your issue in album plugin’s forum https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/
If the error is gone, then go to BP Custom Community theme forum and post your issue there http://themekraft.com/forums/

MemberHello, I’ve just faced the problem you are talking about. Indeed, buddypress allows to delete activity entries only for superadmins or for activity “owners”.
In order to fix this in your groups section go to file “wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php”, locate function “bp_dtheme_delete_activity” (I have it on line 205). You should see the following access check there :
`if ( !is_super_admin() && $activity->user_id != $bp->loggedin_user->id )
return false;
`Replace this access check with custom one:
`if( $activity->component == ‘groups’ && !class_exists(‘BP_Groups_Member’) )
require( BP_PLUGIN_DIR . ‘/bp-groups/bp-groups-classes.php’ );
if ( !is_super_admin() && $activity->user_id != $bp->loggedin_user->id
&& !($activity->component == ‘groups’ && BP_Groups_Member::check_is_admin( $bp->loggedin_user->id, $activity->item_id ))
)
return false;
`Not sure if that’s a best solution, though it does the trick.
P.S. there is also “bp_activity_action_delete_activity” function in “wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-activity.php” with same access check, probably its worth to add custom access check there aswell, not sure, I’m good as it is at the moment.
