I installed WordPress mu 2.7 and the BuddyPress beta on a new site. It seems that BuddyPress is not recognizing my administrative user as a BuddyPress user, nor any user I create through the administrative panel. When I try to go to my user through the BuddyPress home theme (rather than through the administration panel), I get the following:
Warning: require_once(/home5/mountai6/public_html/reystudios/wp-content/member-themes/buddypress-member/index.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home5/mountai6/public_html/reystudios/wp-includes/theme.php on line 822
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home5/mountai6/public_html/reystudios/wp-content/member-themes/buddypress-member/index.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home5/mountai6/public_html/reystudios/wp-includes/theme.php on line 822
I also tried using WordPress 2.65 under a new install, and the same thing happened.
Topic: 404 errors – fresh install
Just tried to do a local to the latest and am getting 404’s thrown at me all over the place –
http://127.0.0.1/wordpress-mu-2.6.5/members
http://127.0.0.1/wordpress-mu-2.6.5/groups
http://127.0.0.1/wordpress-mu-2.6.5/news
I’ve got the files in the /wp-content/mu-plugins folder –
Is this a permissions thing?
I have just installed BuddyPress as per the instructions and it causes a completely blank page. When I remove the plugins by renaming the mu-plugins directory so WordPress mu can’t see it, then the site reappears. So something in the BP plugins is causing the problem.
I am using the latest version of WPMU (2.6.5) and the latest BP beta.
Has any one else experienced this problem and does any one have any suggestions?
Thanks
Ian
I posted this idea over at the mu.wordpress.org forum’s but since I would like to use it in conjunction with buddypress might as well post it over here.
Essentially I’d like a plugin/hack where each new member is given a number of invites, say 5. They can invite 5 people to join but no more. Each of the people they invite get 5 invites themselves and so on.
Anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing this? Or is there already a plugin that would work for this? Any help/ideas very much appreciated.
