I recently installed WordPress MU +Buddypress into a folder on my Godaddy server called “theartillerist.com”, The base or root URL is http://respectablepress.com, so the exact path to this folder would be http://respectablepress.com/theartillerist.com.
I did this for testing purposes, I thought after I tested the installation in that path, that I could later on point the domain I own “theartillerist.com” to that folder, so it would only be http://theartillerist.com. After I pointed the domain to that folder, I still see the exact path in the URL and not the URL I want i.e. theartillerist.com
I am wondering if this is a .htaccess problem? I have a deluxe account with Godaddy, but they refuse to help me with any .htaccess files. So, I am turning to the Buddypress community for any help:)

Your web host and/or hosting package aren’t providing your site enough memory to load BP up. By chance are you running a non-English installation?
1. If i will purchase a buddy press theme can i modify it and remove the links in it..
2. on footer (WordPress MU, BuddyPress and Avenue B2) links can be removed or not….
please provide me detail about it.

I have my site ran on WordPress 3.0.4. I’ve decided to install BuddyPress plugin and the whole system crashed
I recieve the following error

I’ve came up with a “solution”
Vanilla 2 integration with WordPress it’s really easy. And now, they have widgets like “forum activity” and “recent post” widgets. So you can always put the “forum activity” widget in the “activity” of buddypress, it’s easy and can keep the activities look the same but more ordered.
What I’m trying to do now is to put the user activity in a widget in the buddypress profile

It’s nothing to do with BuddyPress or WordPress. It’s probably more likely due to throttling of emails sent on your godaddy account. I’d start by getting in contact with godaddy support and asking them what the situation is.
I downloaded and installed the wordpress arabic version same like i want the arabic version for buddypress. Is already exists or what?? If it’s not exists then how we can make buddypress to support the arabic version?? Please give me your inputs!! Awaiting for your reply!

Hello, I am using buddypress 1.2.7, wordpress 3.04.
I am using godaddy wordpress hosting.
The activation email takes a half hour to receive, yes, a half hour. They do come, but why the fracc does it take so bleepity long!!!?
I have gotten over 40 inactivated accounts on my site due to this.
I am jealous of wordpress.org, it takes split second to arrive.

I am running wordpress with buddypress and bbpress, and trying to figure out how to get the buddypress bar to work on the bbpress.
The buddypress bar plugins returns me the following error:

That’s not much help. It’s for version 1 of Vanilly. There’s version 2 out already, which ships with built-in seamless wordpress integration. So, getting it to work as a standalone forum should be easy. Integrating stuff like activity entries or group forums will be harder, though.
Other than general overviews, you should be looking out for BuddyPress 1.2+ version tutorials

I’m not sure what happened, but for some reason, im signed in when in the wordpress side of things – the pages etc…. but when i try and go to create a group or enter the forums, i am not signed in… trying to sign in just sends me to the admin panel, but when i go back to the forum i’m not signed in. confused. please help! :{

You need to use a BuddyPress compatible theme. Just activating BuddyPress on a WordPress site is not enough.

RE: Achievements. If Vanilla forums is not WordPress software — which it isn’t — you’re probably going to need to set up an AJAX request in WordPress so that you can communicate external events into WordPress, which Achievements can then make use of.
i uploaded a blank, becaus if no .htaccess file exists, i get the error “permission denied”. now i checked the .htaccessfile and i only have this inside:

i’ve installed the buddypress extension and activated it. the Permalink Settings are set to “Month and name” (i uploaded a empty .htaccess file before)
i’m new in wordpress but i think the extension is only active at the backend(/wp-admin) in the frontned i don’v have the menu bar with My account notifications…
and also if i click on my profile link(/members/admin) it redirect’s me to my startpage (link to my site: beli.xn--lw-fka.ch)

I use the defalt search box, I can search members and groups , but a forum search is empty, even my search word is copy the topic’s title or a word in the content. How to search group forum topics? I want make a search for the title or content of the forum which created in groups.
Where can I edit the serch box? Is the file `wordpresswp-contentpluginsbuddypressbp-themesbp-defaultsearch.php` ? And how to edit?
