Hello,

I own a single Buddypress setup which run under the theme Dynamix
I have made lot of mods to the theme to fits my demand.
Question is : Can i now setup a WP Multisite in order to deploy BP Network ?
Will i have to redo all the custom work ?

I have deactivate everything and chose the Twenty Twelve theme and now both the register and the login stil does not work if you go to the login page there is no code in the page like the one in registration that has the [register] code on the page.

Even if i use the BuddyPress Default theme nothing works and the theme DynamiX nothing works now.

Actually my first suspicion is the dynamix theme.

Viewing the buddypress demo page with firefox, it appears to still be using buddypress v 1.6.5 so would probably need upgrading to v 1.7.

Meanwhile, try a theme that is supposed to work well with bp 1.7, such as twenty twelve….

If that fixes the error then It might be an idea to ask the commercial theme designers if they plan to upgrade it…

Hi,
After installing buddypress, every page works fine, except for the login page. I get the following error: ‘Fatal error: Call to undefined function bbp_logged_in_redirect() in /home/sporganize.nl/www/wp-content/themes/DynamiX/page-user-login.php on line 11 ‘ . This line 11 says ‘bbp_logged_in_redirect();’. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this? thanks! Anne

Thanks @mercime,

DynamiX theme was fixed within hours of asking the author, with the removal of the line I posted above. If anything he was glad of the head up in relation to changes that are coming. (Best support on a theme I ever had IIH)

Now, with the release of 1.7(b)2 My Ajax issues are a thing of the past also.

BuddyPress is my friend again 🙂

I would suggest that the best way forward is to contact the theme author – Parallelus

In the DynamiX theme I had to edit out a line in dynamix/functions.php

wp_enqueue_script( ‘dtheme-ajax-js’, BP_PLUGIN_URL . ‘/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js’, array( ‘jquery’ ), $version );

Unfortunately adding add_theme_support( ‘buddypress’ ); is not the answer, though it is certainly something theme authors need to look at for their future updates.

I also own the Salutation theme and after a quick peek I can not find the same or similar string as I posted above.

No point in both of us contacting the author so if you get any joy from them, please let me know how you got on. It will come in very handy, as I plan to use the theme at some point in the future.

It will help them in their investigation.

Mapped sub – cyber-chat.co.uk is managing to auto post BP updates (New avatar insertion etc) But I can not manually post any activity. I can also not delete any activity.

I have been speaking to Ron Rennick via the WordPress MU Domain Mapping support pages in relation to the current ajax issue I’m having.

To explain: Naturally the cyber-networks.co.uk Page source is showing the ajax url as http://cyber-networks.co.uk/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

The problem being is that my mapped domains also have the same url within their source. Default browser security is therefore blocking BP posting within these mapped domains!

Ron suggested that I switch off Domain mapping plugin option -”Redirect administration pages to site’s original domain”

I’ve tried this but it resolves nothing and Ron seems to think that this ‘may’ be down to Buddypress, Quote; “ Possibly the ajax url is being changed by BP to go back to the main site” ?

If this is the case, then I can’t ever see a need for the enable bp multiblog function as it would surely fail in most case scenarios similar to my own?

I would truly appreciate all and any comments/replies that may further my progression with this build.

Troubleshooting tried: Disabled all plugins – No effect

In brief:

Duplicate post issues, would appear to be theme related as BP default theme rectifies the issue (All sites are running from an appropriately renamed child site)

Inability to add/delete into activity from a sub-site would appear to be directly linked to domain mapping, as when I revert to sub folder URL, the problem is removed.

Any assistance/advice to help further my trouble shooting or indeed any potential solution thoughts will be greatly received.

networkroot.com can post activity but duplicates it all (Posts it twice) I can delete activity threads from this site.

mappedsub.com auto posts updates (New avatar etc) But I can not delete activity. I can also not post any activity on this site.

HI @mercime, thank you for your reply.

The set up is as follows;
New install: WordPress 3.5.1 MU joint Network with x7 Mapped domains

New install: Buddypress 1.6.4 Running all sites on Dynamix WP/BP theme

New install: BBPress 2.2.4 With Network & Group forums configured.

Buddypress has been installed ‘without’ the discussion forums tab enabled.

<code>define( ‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true );</code> Is located in wp-config.

Set up for stewide & group forums from: https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ followed to the last note.

After further examination, it appears that I can edit group forums with no issues whatsoever, it is the sitewide forums that have the blocked actions, I literally can’t do anything with them. Page just refreshes.

Tried disabling all network enabled plugins which are; WP SEO (Yoast), WPMU Domain Mapping, Ultimate coming soon page & Join my multisite, to no avail.

It has me well and truly stumped ! The site is locked down under maintenance at the moment, but I’m happy to PM access to any moderator here if they felt it may help to see the issue first hand.

First time I’ve heard about this. What theme are you using?

Edit – you should contact theme author of Dynamix theme. Looks like the author incorporated BP into the theme per demo http://dynamix-buddypress.creativeworkz.co.uk/ could be some conflict

Unfortunately, I can’t find anyone else with this issue. So clearly the problem is between the chair and keyboard. I apologize for wasting anyone’s time with this, but I’ve been stuck for days and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. So, thank you in advance.

So here’s my issue: I just can’t seem to get anything working correctly. I have a theme (dynamix) which supports buddypress.I have buddypress installed and activated with bbpress. But when I try to create a new forum, it gets created in a place that I don’t have access to.

For example, I go to dashboard > Forums > New Forum > and I create a new forum (usually with some sarcastic name because I’m frustrated)

That forum gets created with the forum slug and the forum base.

So, let’s say I have my forum base set to X
My forum slug set to Y

When I publish the a new forum, let’s call it “Imstupid”, it goes to: http://www.[mysite].com/ [forum page]/X/Y/imstupid

My assumption is that it would go directly to the X spot.

So, I want people to be able to click on my forum page (it’s not named forums, by the way) and have a list of forums right there. As it stands now, not only are the forums I have created not there, but I can’t even get to them!

2. Did you install WordPress as a directory or subdomain install? umm, I’m not sure? I installed it through my host.

8. Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed and activated? If so, which ones? Yes: bbPress and Wibiya Toolbar
9. Are you using the standard BuddyPress themes or customized themes? DynamiX
10. Have you modified the core files in any way? Nope. I think you and I both know I don’t know how!
11. Do you have any custom functions in bp-custom.php? No.
12. If running bbPress, which version? Or did your BuddyPress install come with a copy of bbPress built-in? 2.1.1 BuddyPress install came with bbPress built in.
13. Please provide a list of any errors in your server’s log files. None
14. Which company provides your hosting? Bluehost
15. Is your server running Windows, or if Linux; Apache, nginx or something else? Windows

I’m using Dynamix theme. No I am not using a child theme. when I use the BP links my logo wont show up, but when I use the links in the menu that I created the logo populates. When I switch to the bp default theme I have the same problem. so I thought if I disable the BP menu all together I could avoid that problem???

Does it work if you switch to the bp-default theme? ( If it does, you would be better asking the question on the Dynamix forums).

See also, my question above about which URL you are using for registration… what do you have for your registration page (check in wp-admin); what are you entering in your browser to try and reach the registration page?

Yes I’m using a purchased theme called Dynamix. Yes I have enable new registration in wp-admin and the I did this in admin under Buddypress – Pages

Registration

Associate WordPress Pages with the following BuddyPress Registration pages.
Register New Page View – Register
Activate New Page View – Activate

The Activate page is working but not the Register.

I upgraded Buddypress today and the main menu on my site is not showing up correctly anymore. It is now listing each menu item vertically on the right side of the page. When I deactivate Buddypress, it shows up correctly. It was working correctly with the previous version. I’m using the Dynamix theme. Please let me know what I need to do to fix this. Or where I can re-install the previous version of Buddypress. Thanks!

hoping for help from @djpaul on this one…

basically, we were using an older version of Achievements (not that old, unfortunately I’m not sure exactly which version but it was fairly recent — originally installed around august/september). a co-worker noticed that the achievements widgets weren’t working, so he decided to try updating the Achievements plugin to the latest version. The update was successful, but on activation, we lose access to wp-admin.

I can verify that Achievements is causing this problem, because if I remove the achievements folder from wp-content/plugins, we are again able to access the wp-admin dashboard.

We also tried removing the achievements/ folder and installing a new copy of the plugin, with the same result (unable to access wp-admin dashboard after activation)

checked apache error_log and access_log, but there were no errors! this strikes me as weird. PHP threw no errors either, except the “white screen of death” — no output. Please suggest how I might get more information about this error.

Hello people.

BPs awesome!
I have just installed it but have some quick question for the experts. I am not very advanced with Buddypress or coding so please be patient.

Ok, so my site is http://www.ustake.me/portal/

This is the Dynamix theme, it is BP compatible. This theme has a Dropdown panel menu (click on the blue arrow at the search box or the community button in the navi) on its own which is quite similar to the Sliding BP bar from Sarah Gooding. (http://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/new-sliding-ajax-login-panel-plugin-for-buddypress/)

Is there any way to implement the panel from Sarah into the one from the theme?
Which files I have to edit? What I have to copy&paste from where?
In the settings menu of the theme dropdownpenal, there are for columns which I can fill with widgets or custom HTML.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english, I hope it’s understandable.
