ParticipantB. COPY sidebar.php and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php file
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the very TOP of the file above all other code, add:
``[UPDATED-11/20/12 @rakshithvbharanigmailcom ] At the very BOTTOM of the same file, below all other code, add:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/lucid/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.

@mercime
Participant@rakshithvbharanigmailcom You only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BP.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your lucid theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your lucid theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:

ParticipantTry this article, it helped me integrate bb with buddy press:
http://labzip.com/the-definitive-guide-to-buddypress-bbpress-configuration/November 16, 2012 at 10:03 am #145127In reply to: As soon as BP installed, cannot access wp-admin
@mercime
ParticipantIf so, then I’ll post content of that page for you as follows:
In some server environments, installation of BuddyPress can lead to blank pages. A great source for troubleshooting this problem is the error logs.
Memory Limit
Increasing the available memory may fix the blank page problem. Three methods are available for increasing the memory limit.php.ini
If possible, increase the memory limit within the php.ini file.wp-config.php
If possible, increase the memory limit in the wp-config.php file by adding define (‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);..htaccess
If possible, add the following to the .htaccess file: php_value memory_limit 256Mtalk to your host
If you cannot resolve increasing memory with the fixes above, it means that your hosting provider prevents increases in memory limits. Contact tech support right away. Some hosting providers might require you to upgrade your plan or pay extra.clear your browser cache or try another browser
After increasing memory, be sure to clear your browser cache. Also, troubleshoot multiple browsers and multiple user roles (subscriber, author, admin, etc.)November 16, 2012 at 8:27 am #145124@mercime
Participant@zacclay Great. Thanks for the update. You’ll get the support you need with Networks+.
Marking this as resolved.November 16, 2012 at 8:23 am #145122In reply to: Register page not found/No User Profiles
@mercime
Participant== Activity, Groups and Members pages display on the menu bar, but Register does not? ==
You can just add it to the custom menu in Appearance > Themes
== Also if I try and go straight to the URL (entreacting.com/register) it just takes me to the home page. ==
That happens when you’re logged in and go to the register page. Log out and check if you can go to the register page just to double-check everything’s in working order.
== Also I cannot edit my user profile. when I click me name on the right it takes me to “Page not found” ==
Strange. Re-upload BuddyPress manually to wp-content/plugins/ i.e., via FTP/cpanel/etc.

ParticipantThank you for posting the links…..good helpful info for me to learn and understand what are all the differences. I will get the networks+ plugin.
After reading thru all info, this is what I plan to use for our network of BP networks:
* X2 theme from themekraft
* https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/
* http://wpebooks.com/networks/I plan to host the sites on WPEngine using their ‘professional plan’ that allows multisite hosting with up to 10 WP installs. Hopefully that should be good to start up because there won’t be much traffic in the first few months.
Thank you again!

ParticipantHmm – looks like it was the “bp-template-pack” plugin causing the 500 errors.
Now I am back to having the “You’ll need to activate a BuddyPress-compatible theme to take advantage of all of BuddyPress’s features. We’ve bundled a default theme, but you can always install some other compatible themes or update your existing WordPress theme.” on every page.

November 15, 2012 at 9:03 pm #145096In reply to: Buddypress + Multisite, Add New Site Option
Alexander
Participant@mercime Thanks! There it is. I could have sworn that there was also a button to add a new blog under the profile’s Sites tab. I know for a fact that there used to be that option in the top admin bar in the previous BP version. Any idea how to add a ‘create blog’ button or link to that top admin bar? Thanks
