@jonbie initial scan of the theme looks like it’s using the buddypress.css I pointed to above. So check if adding !important in your style works.
e.g. #buddypress .activity-stream {background-color: #fff !important; }

If the !important does not work, best place to ask is at the theme’s forums where you should be able to get support for your purchase since we have no access to the premium theme. Good luck.

@foxden-vixen Most likely, that’s a theme issue, not BuddyPress. To double-check, change theme to Twenty Fourteen or Twenty Thirteen and check if issue does not appear there.

So if you don’t want/need to fix connection time out error/s, then just delete the BuddyPress folder in the wp-content/plugins folder via FTP if you have access.

What theme are you using? Site URL?

I’m also having the same problem. Upgraded to Buddypress 2.0, now any time I try to access an admin page I get:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I’ve disabled all plugins via the database but am still having the problem. How do I fix it?

You should not use your super admin account for your profile on BuddyPress. Create a new administrator account for that and reserve the super admin for backend admin tasks only.

Load new doesn’t happen immediately, are you saying it doesn’t happen at all? Also, make sure it’s turned on in your BuddyPress settings

The extended profile in wp-admin is available to help you moderate profiles in the WP Admin area. One of the metabox is there to spam/unspam users.

You will see the link if :
– you’re not trying to “moderate” yourself.
– you have the capacity to moderate the user.

For instance:
– an admin shouldn’t be able to moderate a super admin
– a super admin should be able to moderate an admin
– a super admin shouldn’t be able to moderate himself.

There’s an enhancement ticket on BuddyPress trac about it.

– If you need to repair other users, I recommend that you use the bulk update tools at Dashboard > Users

keep only one register page…delete the register1 or register2 page and in the register main page add this [theme-my-login] in the content and save it and in buddypress settings put this correct register page in the pages section

hi I have this problem when I look at my members site I have 20 of the same name for each of my members and it was coming after the new update og the plugin, what can I do about it or is the error being fix through a update to the buddypress plugin I hope you understand my bad English 🙂

i want to replicate group component to new component with name movements and groups .
i do not want to change group to movement , groups functionality will remain as it but also similar functionality will be copied to new component named movement .
Tried group skeleton component ,http://cosydale.com/public/buddypress/ExtendBuddyPress-part2-en.pdf
all these uses filters to change or extend Bp functionality .
But none of this link give how to create replica of component ,

remove the form upload code and replace text with info that avatar is served from elsewhere
