Participant@tomelk31 looks like the easiest option is available where you only need to adjust the style instead of revising 16 BP template files by adding the following to your stylesheet:
`#content .padder {
float: left;
margin-top: 20px;
width: 600px;
}`
then copy over the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet after the `#content .padder` above, then adjust to taste.September 6, 2012 at 7:37 pm #141161In reply to: Hide the main blog from users “My Blogs” menu item

ParticipantTry to bump this topic too , Buddypress is much more in advance from those last posts so maybe new BP versions will allow it, is anybody here who use @justin_k Justin’s WP-FB autoconnect and who has the same problem as @ifanatics in the first post above ? I succesfully use premium WP-FB autoconnect too and have the same problem as him, users who register to my website via this plugin can see every page even when I have restricted that page to only one different role (I have created 2 new roles , “club” and “job_applicant”, both new roles works perfect when I want to show and hide the content to specific user but only facebook users can see everything
, (they can see everything even if I manualy assign them a different role in user profile edit page.
Other problem is what can I do to show facebook users in EDIT author drop down field in EDIT post page ? I can see there only wordpress – buddypress users , but not Facebook users despite of they are all everywhere even in members directory, from that reason I cannot assign them any blog post / CPT postSeptember 6, 2012 at 7:13 pm #141158In reply to: Safari and Chrome messed up bbpress layout

MemberThe only thing i’ve done is to replace “sidebar” with “//sidebar” in the twenty ten theme files.
As to your solution, could you be more specific as to how I resolve this issue. I’ve no idea how to remove the ‘table-layout fixed’, and by removing that won’t I then get full width on all pages?
I only need full width on the forum.

ParticipantHi, @rogercoathup I missed your comment previously. In our case I modify the activity loop and any other plugin or theme will have the same activity loop as the default one, just with the modification my plugin is installed to do, meaning that if the user wants the activity loop not modified my way will never install my plugin in the first place. It’s for auto loading activity items and removing the “load more button”. It would be crazy to think that the user would install this plugin ando other that uses that button xD and no filter instead… Also, with every “bp-default” theme upgrade/new BP version, I would update the plugin (will took me two minutes to do that

@mercime
Participant@erikahrend that plugin has not been updated since 2011 and therefore would not likely be compatible with BP 1.6

ParticipantThanks @mercime but this is not a problem what I have asked, I know how to activate future users (WP – approve users plugin I don’t need) but I don’t know how to activate WP already registered users who succesfully registered their account but never did any activity in buddypress part , that’s why I can’t see them in buddypress directory , I have about 990 members registered who never posted any post , who never made any buddypress activity , only registered via gravity forms plugin – register user addon or registered via register page , that’s why I can’t see them in members directory where I have only 400 members, i would like to see them there all, but I don’t want to activate them one by one , so I search for some solution how to (maybe with the help of some query change some value in MySql table to get them there all),
“Activate users in Buddypress” plugin shows me all 990 users as already activated , some of them without BP activity and some of them without LAST ACTIVITY, there’s nothing to do, no button to change anything , this plugin will not help me to show them in members directory , there must be a simple query which will do it in batch for all of them, practicaly MEMBERS DIRECTORY it shows me only members with LAST ACTIVITY record , so simple query which will change that LAST ACTIVITY record will certainly help.September 6, 2012 at 5:53 pm #141145jaymeselman

Participant@burntheedges you have two options
a. create only two files – header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php
– the downside is that the titles of the BP pages won’t be like the titles of the rest of your site i.e., not white text on black backgroundb. revise 16 BP template files – your pages titles will be styled like the rest of the site’s page titles
– downside revising 16 more or less template files when there’s an upgrade.I would opt for (a) and wait till BP 1.7 where these additions/revisions will be fossils from the past

ParticipantYou should ask these as separate questions – the first two issues are general WordPress (not BuddyPress), so best asked on the wordpress.org forums.
Post issue 3 as sep question on here, and issue 4 you could ask to @pollyplummer on her group for the plugin

ParticipantTwo plugins which look current and could help you https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/activate-users-in-buddypress/ and https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-approve-user/

ModeratorGot it ! Thanks to a hint from @rogercoathup
Do this:
wp_insert_post with status set to ‘draft’
Then handle file uploads and set the thumb
Then wp_update_post and set the status to ‘publish’

ParticipantThank you both for your links-codes, I will study everything tonight , @rogercoathup the code you’ve provided where do I have to add this filter ? In which file ? in function.php ? I have also seen @shanebp code in another thread which seems to be different (I am not an PHP expert at all), the same question here where should I add it and which code is better , safer ?

Participant@shanebp — from what you said in your OP, get_the_post_thumbnail() is working correctly (if you provide a hardcoded post_id) — so that function would appear not to be the problem.
What output are you getting from get_the_post_thumbnail? I’d be var_dumping $post just before the call, and also $activity_content just after to narrow it down.
@4ella — Shane has already given the code for doing that in his original post. If you don’t want any custom content, but simply want to add your custom post type to the standard types processed, you can simply add a filter to bp_blogs_record_post_post_types to include your cpt – something like:
`
add_filter( ‘bp_blogs_record_post_post_types’, ‘inspired_record_more_types’ );
function inspired_record_more_types( $types ) {
$types[] = ‘my-cpt-name’;return $types;
}
