MemberI can see there’s no way I can get this to work. I just created another installation of Buddypress 1.6 (fresh install) and still doesn’t work.

KeymasterThis doesn’t seem to be a BuddyPress question. Does cometchat have support forums you could ask?
In general, if you can’t find a bit of markup in your theme, just add it.

Participant@rossagrant – if you want to keep the bumping of posts on edit, you should be able to hook on to the edit_post or pre_post_update actions, and modify the datetime of the corresponding activity item.
Be careful though, as edit_post is also invoked when comments are added, so you’ll need to catch that condition. [not sure if that’s also the case with pre_post_update]

KeymasterYes, wondering what you’ve done to get it like that. Have you got two copies of WordPress (http://processpedia.designquotes.com.au/ and http://processpedia.designquotes.com.au/buddypress/)? Or are you running multisite, and “buddypress” is a site?

KeymasterYes, and I work very closely with John; he’s also the lead developer of BuddyPress. You did not ask John about the BBP_Theme_Compat error message. It’s not a BuddyPress class, so it’s not a BuddyPress problem.
You have a standard PHP error message. It’s saying it can’t find the BBP_Theme_Compat class, and you’re using it in /themes/animassrdblogbp_kid/functions.php on line 32. You (or whoever built your theme) need to figure out what you’re doing in functions.php that triggers this errors.

ModeratorHi Websitevala, if possible can you go to your BuddyPress settings and resave and also resave the permlinks under Settings? This may not be it but a good check.
If that doesn’t work it’s worth checking if a plugin could be interacting and testing (if possible) with the default BuddyPress theme.
If we’re still out of luck as to where the culprit is can you please link to your site (if possible) and tell us what theme you are using? Also if you are able to paste into https://gist.github.com/ any errors you are having in your error log (your hosting can help you locate this), that would also be helpful.
As for what gets effected when you upgrade, well that’s a little dependent on your set up. It is usually advised to make sure all your essential plugins and your theme either have updated versions or work with BuddyPress 1.6 – the same goes with WordPress.

MemberDid you check the link I gave?
Here is the post from that link:
“Not a bbPress problem. Looks like your theme is a child theme of BuddyPress’s bp-default, and it uses hardcoded relative paths in its @import rules. Any number of things could be going wrong here, but it wasn’t updating bbPress that caused this to happen.”This reply is blaming the problem on BuddyPress & not bbPress. Surely both bbPress & BuddyPress should integrate together?
So whether it was bbPress or BuddyPress plugin update that has caused my theme to lose its format does anyone know how I can fix this please?August 14, 2012 at 6:59 am #139355In reply to: How does this forum work?!

ParticipantYeah, I found that the search box on this site is broken too. Also the sidebar login widget redirects you to the home page instead of the page you were on, which is super annoying.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure you can use Google to search this site. use “your search term site:buddypress.org”

KeymasterIf you’re moving forum content, you probably want to be migrating to bbPress rather than BuddyPress. Check it out, especially its importers — it should give an idea of the appropriate APIs to use.

Participant@formbi,The simplest way without code edit or plugin is to use css to hide it. look for the page ID and write something like: .page-item-78{ display: none ! important;} where 78 is your page ID you can hide as may pages as you want by adding a coma

Participant@formbi I don’t know what theme you’re using, but almost all of the updated themes have custom menus which you can configure via Appearance > Menuw https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/

@mercime
Participant== that is much more complicated job. ==
@rogercoathup true. Until such a time that someone releases it (free or paid), the next best thing are WP bootstrap themes with the template pack plugin

== Would be nice to see alternative UI elements for the presentation of dynamic elements of BuddyPress ==
It will be easier (relatively) come BP 1.7 but it would still involve an investment of not inconsiderable time.
