Fixed for the upcoming 1.6 release. Will see about getting into a 1.5.x release.

KeymasterI’m 110% certain the cause will not be BuddyPress, simply because we never remove any content from it. Further speculation is baseless at this point.

Participant@bpinspire which page do you refer to, is it either of these two?
https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/developer-and-designer-information/
https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/version-1-5/
Be helpful to know if either of these are the page you refer to or whether the page has simply been removed or overwritten/renamed? quick glance through the codex dashboard pages doesn’t show the one you link to and overall the /releases section doesn’t quite feel as though it reads correctly in terms of hierarchical nesting.

Participantbp_has_members() has an alphabetical type parameter.
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/custom-buddypress-loops/the-members-loop/Have you tried that?
regarding question B, that can be done via your theme by commenting out/removing the options you dont want… for members that will be around line 55 of members/index.php

KeymasterIf for some reason it’s not showing up inside the WordPress plugins page, go into your web server (FTP or SSH) into the wp-content/plugins/ folder. Rename “buddypress” to “old-BuddyPress”. Then download BP manually from WordPress.org/extend/plugins, unzip, and upload into a new /buddypress directory in the same place.
Take lots of backups first, including database backups.
Another place to check is the ‘network admin’ plugins page if you’re using multisite.

KeymasterWow, that’s not good. Hope you had a good backup. Let us know if your investigations point anything towards BuddyPress.

Participant@dsg257 just confirming it’s the free version. Will take a look at it now.
EDIT- By the way, you’re using the default layout right (sidebar on the right)? I recall that it had other layout options when I was reviewing the theme.February 18, 2012 at 7:24 am #130041In reply to: Gallery Styled Options For Buddypress

Participant@uloga surprised at your a la troll rant here. You have been positive iin these forums before. Didn’t know that changing avatar from unicorn to che guevarra causes change in behavior as well.
You know you don’t have to use BuddyPress. You also know that BP code has considerably improved since it was first released ( https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/ ) and that bp-default theme had those functions more or less even way back then.
BuddyPress is fortunate to have @johnjamesjacoby as Lead Dev with Core Devs @djpaul and @boonebgorges on the case.
Lambasting others for your frustration in updating your client site is not constructive at all. The unicorn should return.

Weaver 2.2.6 by Bruce WamplerFebruary 18, 2012 at 4:16 am #130032In reply to: Using BP content / API to create an iphone app
modemlooper
ModeratorBuddyPress has no API for external communication. It was created before the mobile scene took off and now apps have become the norm. You could load web pages in a native app that were optimized but it wouldn’t be 100% like a native app. You could also create your own json API.

MemberSencha is definitely something I have followed but not actively used. I am not a mobile app developer (as much as I would LOVE to learn) – that is why I am heading up the team and not doing the coding. I will be creating the UI specs and function requirements, but I wanted to make sure that BuddyPress has the ability to be “open to” external connections from a mobile app.
I’d definitely be interested in hearing about the frameworks you’ve played with. Have you done anything with a framework AND buddypress?

Participant@aces, thanks for the tip!.
perhaps i’d have to say that all the users arriving to the website are going to be already registered, manually; as they’re all pupils from a music school and they’re going to be given their usernames in the front desk.
thanks again !
ps: i’ve found a few plugins that might work, if i wasn’t on a multisite. …February 18, 2012 at 1:14 am #130020In reply to: Re-install is possible?

Participanthi again everybody,
i tried what @mercime told me, and i found out that replacing some content of index.php with the login form won’t work for me, because all the other pages of the site are still available to any visitor.
i’d need to make the whole site a private one.
any further help?.
thanks !! -
